481  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Monitoring headless Mining PCs on: April 25, 2011, 10:08:24 PM
well, i am running Windows.

I use teamviewer. It works pretty good, its like your at the pc. You can even log into your computer with an android phone. Its all free too.
My pc in my basement has no mon/k/m at all.
Just one thing, dont attempt to disable the network connection and think your going to cycle it manually while remotly logged in Smiley I just did that. hah..
482  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 4 Card Motherboard on: April 25, 2011, 10:05:39 PM
5850s are not as efficient as 5870s. Less stream processors is my guess as to why. You can get four 5870s on one PSU, no problem.

5850s are significantly cheaper to buy though.

You would save money on the MB if you went with less 5870's.

For me the 5870 is the sweet spot.  I would love to have a 5970 but I never run into them cheap.

Where can you get 5870's for a reasonable price though? Everywhere I'm finding them they're 300+

ebay... just over 200 shipped.
483  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: [MINER] Phoenix - New efficient, fast, modular miner **BFI_INT support!** on: April 25, 2011, 10:04:02 PM
Im getting a ton of "work queue empty, minder is idle" messages

im on a 5970 flags are -k poclbm DEVICE=0 VECTORS AGGRESSION=14 BFI_INT

That's interesting. Are you mining solo or in a pool? If so, what pool?
You may need to speak with your pool operator about this.

Could you post the URL you are using? (edit out the username and password)

deepbit. But the problem seems to be gone when I lower my aggression to 12. Does this mean my miner is trying to work even faster at 14 but can not due to limitations getting work?

Im getting ~362mhps per core on 5970. Best I could do on poclbm is 330.

This thread is awesome and inspiring.  I'm trying to figure out things I can sell for BTC.

Just anything! Bitcoin is the money of the future, so sell it now!

Nice, is it hard to make syrup?

I'd say more time intensive. You have to collect the sap every day from buckets. Gather enough in a few days to boil down (40-50 gal of sap for 1 gal or maple syrup.) Then spend like 8-10 hours boiling to get your syrup. We boiled on weekends when we were around anyway.
490  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Who would be interested to rent AMD 6970 for bitcoin generation? on: April 21, 2011, 07:28:57 PM
at present time, i don't need a lot of bitcoins. lol

what does that even mean? Your so rich you dont need money?
sorry? bitcoin is not physical money. I know you can convert bitcoin into real money though.
Why take the extra step and lose bitcoin or $ in the extra transaction?

Why buy stock, silver, gold or even groceries then?

vrm temps might be spiking.. Dust could cause this. Check power cables, dust, pci connection. If your problem persists swap your power supply out.

494  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Building a 6990 Rig - Operating System on: April 20, 2011, 04:09:56 AM
I just discovered bitcoin via a philosophy podcast (of all places).  I love the idea of a decentralized form of money!  I happen to have a 6990 that I can employ in mining 24/7 and I'm just wondering if somebody can help me assess how many bitcoins per month this would yield.

depends on the level of difficulty. currently you could probably expect 6-9btc per day from a single 6990 mining in a pool.
495  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin Poker Room on: April 19, 2011, 09:47:29 PM
client have issues with concurrent requests to server - it do not resend packet if previous did not went through. this leads to break in workflow. Therefore right now the only way to mitigate this right now - make connection to server as fast as possible and make server operate as fast as possible. This is not a correct solution, since bug should be fixed in first place, but I just do not have time for this even if I had incentive to fix it.

if you are using tor or proxies - connecting directly should help a lot.

i am going to migrate server to another more powerful one in the end of april.

Yeah everyone I was just playing has the same problem. I think Im going to have to just stop playing, its ridiculously slow. The website seems to navigate fine, but the play is really really slow. I dont mind donating if you can fix the issue. Im connected directly to the site. I have an ~8gb connection so...

496  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin Poker Room on: April 19, 2011, 09:33:26 PM
Im having a lot of stability problems. Mostly that the room wont load, or that it loads then freezes and wont reload. Anyone else having this issue? Its really turing me off form playing. When it works its awesome though!

I'm interested to see what you can do for the band I'm in... We're up and coming and are in need of a revamp of our website/wording/bio...  Take a look at Veloriomusic.com and let me know what you can do for us.

Thanks!
-EP

Cool band man! Playing the east coast at all? We should do a show together.

I could also use a new bio and some press release work.

498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Does Windows Not Automatically Recognize 5970? on: April 19, 2011, 09:09:45 PM
I second the dummy plug. It lets me have a pc in the basment with no monitor plugged into it. I use Teamviewer to administer it.

In order for my win7 box to see both of my 5970's I had to run them in crossfire mode with the crossfire cable. I only need one monitor with that configuration.
499  Economy / Marketplace / Re: For Bid: Pancake Mix on: April 18, 2011, 09:48:18 PM
Now that's what I'm talkin about.
Can I get that by the gallon?

Not from me. The stuff we made is for my wife and I, we made about 2.5 gallons of syrup and between cooking with it, using it to sweeten tea and on pancakes that should last till next year... maybe.
