so stable at ~315ghps on all 4 cores for about an hour. as long as i dont use the -f switch on poclbm.

My gpu temps wer all about 84-90 overclocked.. I just found out my fans were running slow. I bumped up to 100% and things cooled down a lot. 68-70 on all cores.

Ronald ive been stable for about 11 hours on stock settings. Gpu says most of my vccd temps are 70-85, but on one of the 4 listed gives me temps of up to 95c. what are you running at?

I've been tearing my hair out for two days with 1 hour of sleep trying to get this running. I've followed all the guiges TO THE T.

But I get errors and then nothing works. I can see all my cards I cant figure out how to install poclbm and use it.. is there some sort of remote desktop someone could use to help me with this? I'll pay someone to help me get this going. I'm going NUTS.

I never thought of myself as a super noob, but this makes me feel like a complete moron.

Your card needs to support OPEN-GL.

sorry for misinformation

Ok well this isnt quite sop flawless. The second card stops working somwhere between 15 - 60 minutes for some reason.
669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Can not get miner to see other 5970.. help? on: February 18, 2011, 08:34:00 AM
I've tried this before. I've tried connecting additional monitors as well.

Have you been able to do this with two ati 5970's in win7?

OK I screwed around for the better part of 20 min and figure it out.

I have BOTH 5790 cards working in windows7 now.

I found the way to do it every time.

Start the an instance of your miner on each thread. Then unplug your cable and plug it into one of the slot on the second card. Let the monitor come back on then plug it into the other slot on the second card. Let the monitor come on then plug it back to the original slot. (this doesn't seem to make a difference)then start your miners again using the same thread value like you said!!

You might have to do this 10 times before it works unfortunately. Closeing everything then then restarting the process.

I've spent countless hours trying to figure out how to get things going in win7! Thanks so much!!

I tried this withe the f5 option and got 4 instances of 305mhps but it became unstable and crashed the system Sad

whats your btc address...

Hey guys got two 5970's. I do not have the crossfire cable on themn do I need to? I tried it with it on with no luck.

when I tel miner to use device 1 and 2 they each use a core, but if I tell it to use 3 it cant find it and 0 uses hlaf of one of the other cores..

Any ideas?

I had ordered a 1kw psu from new egg and it should be here tomorrow. Now Im thinking i should have went with 850..

Will a 1kw power supply actually cost more to run than an 850 powering the same components?
674  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Any advantage really, to solo mining now? on: February 16, 2011, 04:07:53 PM
As somebody quoted here, solo mining can be  extremely beneficial in terms of money but it has it's own hazards. You should go for it only if you have the capability to confront the challenges.

By capability do you mean multiple 5790's with adequate cooling? Wink
675  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Help getting GPU mining working... on: February 16, 2011, 03:03:34 PM
I've got an 800w corsair power supply. Is it a good idea to install another 5970 with that power supply for a couple days until the 1000w I ordered comes in?
676  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Help getting GPU mining working... on: February 16, 2011, 07:34:55 AM
I know VERY little about overclocking.. yet the ati overclocking program doesnt do anything for some reason.

Ok I bumped my cpu clock up to 800mhz getting 30m more h/s per core than I was.. Any idea what good settings for 5970 is?
677  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Help getting GPU mining working... on: February 16, 2011, 06:34:42 AM
I've got it going with poclbm, but I have to run two instances to use both coers of the GPU is there anyway to combine my hash power? Is it worth doing that way vs 2 instances?

Also Im hitting 75c temp, is that acceptable?

thanks!

679  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New To Bitcoin. Have a few questions. on: February 15, 2011, 10:37:13 PM
btw to generate coins on your pc just go to menu and check "generate coins" option.
you might not be able to compute a single block in your pc's lifetime but there's also a pool for miners that does rewards per partial computation task. you would contribute to the computing power of bitcoin network and gain some bit pennies

Im currently doing 14 mh/s on slush's pool. Im picking up a monster graphics card locally tonight!
