is the quantity of tokens limited?

Yes, coin creation is limited in a similar way as bitcoin (through periodic halving).

Just a quick update regarding the Electrum-AUR wallet.

Both Original and KGW diff algorithms are in and can sync until block 225000 (where the multi-algo starts). I've worked on the Multi-algo diff algorithm and hopefully I have that working by the end of this week, or else next week.

Where can i use auroracoin?  Huh Huh

Mostly at a few merchants in Iceland. Joylato is the only one confirmed by us, but MikkiRefur could give a better answer to this on which merchants are in the process of getting Auroracoin accepted.

Hey, could someone confirm if the following link is accurate on the voting results?

http://icelandmonitor.mbl.is/news/news/2017/10/28/iceland_elections_live_vote_count_updates/

The link is a bit misleading because I think the image shows the results of the previous election.

This is the one you need:

All i can say when looking at the graph of Gulden, it's just the same story as all the other altcoins.
Waste of money.

Hmmm... development is hard/slow/whatever you want to call it. Yet, people want to put more money on promises that still have to be developed instead of something that is underway to be improved.
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: October 28, 2017, 02:20:15 PM

Consolidation until December and then break out on the top? Same was tried halfway August.... or will it be "different this time"TM?

Hope this is going to moon back to 80k sats!  Grin

I don't think we're going to see that happen anytime soon. BTC was valued much lower at that time. Price has been however fairly stable between 0.40 USD and 0.70 USD for months now.
249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: October 25, 2017, 08:29:08 AM

I'm concerned with making more BTC. I haven't put any fiat into crypto since 2015, so I must buy NLG with BTC. So yes, NLG is cheaper that way.

That means everything is depended on BTC's price which makes me wonder if you will make a move or not before the fork as there might be a dump and won't see these sat levels anymore Smiley but good luck to you

Bitcoin will only dump after November. The next Hard fork is in November and this is the main fork, larger then bitcoin gold or bitcoin cash.

http://www.newsbtc.com/2017/10/24/coinbase-list-bitcoin-btc-segwit2x-hard-fork-november-full-transparency/

Any hard forks after this one will be insignificant.

There will always be new excuses why BTC will/will not dump.
250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: October 25, 2017, 08:26:18 AM
But how do they get there income?

They raised a few hundred BTC last year for development (and a bit extra to speed it up). Devs are comfortable that their income isn't influenced to NLG price development.

Hi,
There are a lot of pages and I can't go through them all in one sitting, so I'll ask one or two questions instead while reading:
1. Is it worth mining AUR with Nvidia cards?
2. Is there any blockchain snapshot I can download so I don't have to go through over 3 years of blocks?

1) Yes, should be, but do the calculations yourself.
2) No, currently not.

2) yes there is, look here: http://cryptochainer.com/dir/

Yeah, someone else mentioned that after that post as well. I wasn't aware of it at that time.

@Sam67, what do you mean?

Can someone explain me how they allow trading in a coin that does not exist yet? Where do those sell orders come from?

Craig Customer and Mark Merchant don't care about the tech below the hood. All they care is that stuff just runs fine and that they don't loose money during the transaction. Compare it with cars, does the average driver care about which type of engine the car runs? Nope, they just care that it doesn't break down.
Interesting point. A crypto coin has to work, today. That's all that matters.

And being user friendly in the process. The NLG devs have at least put some work into that.
254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: October 18, 2017, 08:42:02 AM
You capslock dicks should understand the number 1 rule of currency. acceptance
doesn't matter if it does not work as well, or copies. As long as people accept it over others, that's the only thing that counts not logic

I have to be on this side too. Number 1 is acceptance. Number 2 is how good it works. And Number 2 can eventually affect Number 1 if people have to choose between good coin or better coin. But acceptance is so powerful that even if there is a competitor that is better, it has to be so much better to change acceptance of the old.

Copy or original is not important at all. I happily use a copy of anything if it works well or works even better. I will do the same for any alt.

They need to get their release out before ETH does metropolis or it's a pointless excersise.Dutch people will want to earn the interest from PoW2 but if ETH offers this first then Gulden will be done for.

SegSig I know is the reason there is major delays for the release, if the bitcoin devs could save 58% on each transaction they would of.

You want PoW2 then get the devs to drop SegSig and use SegWit and you will have PoW2 this year.

I'm having some issues with my wallet. All my GPU's run super irregular, going up and down in usage and power every few seconds. That doesn't happen when I mine on a pool though.

https://imgur.com/a/71JLs

Check the log of your pool software, could be a problem there. I have only limited knowledge of GPU mining, but I guess for someone to solve that problem he/she would need a bit more information (setup, pool software using, GPU mining settings, etc.).

It's a double edge sword, more people spending = more pressure on the price, lower price = less attention.
When this coin got pumped last year there was lots of media attention, correct? No one cares about losers that can't make the top 100 on coinmarketcap. I know this coin can this is why I hang around and buy the cheap ones when the poor people in the community are selling to pay for food and rent.

Before people can spend... they have to buy, right?

258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Its that time again, what altcoin are you holding at a loss? on: October 15, 2017, 01:54:40 PM
COVAL, someone else told me to buy it and I didn't research it properly. My other coins are doing fine, so I can keep them as long as I want.
259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: October 15, 2017, 01:33:09 PM
I read the bitcoin price is rocketing because of the Hard fork called bitcoin gold and you can get as much bitcoin gold as you have bitcoin. Gulden has to suffer another 10 days before bitcoin dumps , not sure if traders will dump before the fork or after the fork.

Yeah, but that effect is also wearing off again (people who think to profit from this already bought in, and have few funds left). Those people expect that Bitcoin Gold will react the same as Bitcoin Cash, but I don't believe that. Bitcoin Cash has some credit that it solved a problem with Bitcoin. Bitcoin Gold is just a quick money grab attempt, if you're quick enough you can profit from it, but many will loose money with it.
260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: October 15, 2017, 10:17:32 AM
What's Gulden's unique selling point though? Is there anything BTC or one of the other major currencies can't do?
In fact most altcoins are quite useless compared to Gulden.

Even more, some of the more favourite coins have some economic flaws that will cause them to become worthless after some time (unless people keep pumping money in them).
