I have sold off all my duplicates, but will always keep some Casascius stuff  I even have a really rare 1 of a kind item signed by Mike hanging on my wall. Casascius is for sure a cool part of BTCI need to understand something. Is it your contention that these coins will somehow degrade in quality over time and one needs to have them sealed in a container? Is the value also enhanced by getting a grading from this ANACS organization even though it seems expensive? They will indeed degrade, both the brass and silver coins, without being in a container (unless, perhaps, they're in some temp/humidity controlled room). Specifically, if there are finger prints on the brass coins, the metal will tarnish (in the pattern of the finger print) after about 6 months... And if the silvers are exposed to humidity, they also tarnish. what I'm interested in... Does the private key also degrade? I never opened a casascius coin, and all the coins I own are from 2013, so I'm not panicking. BUt I can imagine the private key could become unreadable. Does anybody know how it is actually stored? It holds up pretty well. I opened a few of them about two years ago and they were perfectly legible. Since it's an airtight seal, I don't see how it would be a problem. Maybe it would need to be opened in a controlled environment if we are talking hundreds or thousands of years from now.  |

I slab every Casascius and Lealana I buy / trade. The only time I do not slab them is if I can tell they will grade low... sub MS-63
What do you include on the ANACS submission form? Do you include a copy of the COA for Lealana coins? I am planning to send a few in to be graded. |

So it looks like X1 units need a non-standard power cord. Anyone find a good price for these in bulk? Maybe we can get a USA groupbuy going, I am looking for at least 10 mattering what the X3s use.

The premium is quite high for silver coins and they are not encrypted keys or multi-signature keys. How long have these been for sale?

Now that there is some actual pics of an X1 running, albeit for less than a few minutes, im actually thinking that I might actually receive my units, woohoo!! even though its a few months late.
The working unit looks nice and easy to manage and power so I personally cant wait to receive them and see how they go.
If Bobsag, being the only person in the world who has a working unit apparently, could possibly post a pic showing that the unit has mined for over an hour consistently, then this would show us people who still get some form of assurance from screenshots etc, that what we will/might receive soon is going to be worth the wait.

My unit and PSU is out for delivery now. As soon as I can set it up remotely I will take some screenshots, maybe screen video if that works. Sounds great. Can you include a pic or description of how the PSU attaches to the unit? I assume it just plugs in but who knows. |

When did you guys actually order this stuff? Spondoolie has an SP30 which is 6TH/s and is $5k. There's no question about their capabilities or if they can deliver, because they already have. I know multiple people that are running SP10's. Did I actually read somewhere in this thread that these were preordered last November?
