1601  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS: Lancelot FPGA on: May 22, 2013, 03:22:56 PM
I have the same red LED light on two of my boards and they are hashing fine for the past two weeks. IMO I don't think it is a problem. You could possibly reset it if you updated the firmware, but that could be more effort than it is worth unless you already have the necessary cable.

The CD/driver files are available here http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm.

Hi, I bought some of your Lancelot's, but I didn't receive any CD as it was written on your web.  On one board is shining red LED (HOT?) all the time. Fan is working, board is cold, it computes. Why is it shining? Is available any manual or so? Where I can read about LEDs, IO's, switches .. etc. ? Is there any description of board? Thx for answer.

On my unit a red HOT LED is on all the time when it's running. Heat sink is cool (not even lukewarm), so I wonder what exactly it means. Does anyone know?

2 out of my 10 units do this. It goes on as soon as the unit is powered on and never goes off. The other units (in the same stack, with the same cooling, etc) -- it never goes on. I just ignore it, they haven't had any issues.

same here on 2 of 14 units - no problems so far, just red light

As I have already said ...
cgminer still uses the old serial-USB for the Icarus driver.
Once I get the Lancelot (today or tomorrow) I'll work on updating the Icarus driver to direct USB where my hotplug code solves the major issues of device detection.
Before direct USB, cgminer didn't do hotplug (there are various major issues attempting to do this with termios serial devices)
At the moment on cgminer it isn't direct USB so the Icarus driver won't see a hotplugged device.

Thanks for working on this.

Another easy way to mine with these is Bitminter. It loaded right up and found all the cards.

What happens with Bitminer if you remove a Lancelot and plug it back in? How about if you add more Lancelot cards while running?

cgminer is not currently working as one would like. We have sent today a Lancelot to Kano so he can fix this.

There is an option to auto search for new com ports which recognizes new cards or current cards that are turned off and back on. But you will receive com port errors from the USB hob or some other hardware that is recognized by bitminter. It does not cause a problem but will show up every time it auto checks for new ports. I had the same problem with cgminer 3.1. However, it was my fault for adding -S com1 when it was unnecessary. I only needed com 3 through 8. The com1 error caused cgminer 3.1 to crash because it thought it was an Avalon. I did not have this problem on cgminer 2.1 or bfgminer.

Payment and email sent.
1607  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Now available: Lancelot (Heavy Duty 2 x FPGA Mining Board) on: May 09, 2013, 06:42:38 PM
Does cgminer automatically pick them up?

My experience was I had to add the com port for each card in Win7/Win8, but works fine. I am having better luck with bfgminer right now. It seems less buggy with these.
1608  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Now available: Lancelot (Heavy Duty 2 x FPGA Mining Board) on: May 09, 2013, 04:17:55 AM
Yeah, just direct to the PSU seems to be working fine. I ended up not using the ATX adapter because I could not find the right cables locally. So, I just plugged it in directly (see pics). When I get more cards, I will try to figure something out with the ATX adapter.

So, cgminer 3.1 picks up multiple cards but it thinks one of them is an Avalon and crashes. I can run multiple cards on cgminer 2.1 but the sixth card is not recognized. Still working on it. The hot light does not go off either on that one card.

Mining TRC seems a bit slower than BTC in cgminer for some reason.

We're sorry for this. Our staff did not realize this issue. Bare with us while they are learning. It's a new product and these mistakes are known to happen in the beginning.

We will send you the splitter free of charge in the next package.

If I have an ATX power supply can I plug it into these units directly without issue? Do I just need male/female adapters?

you want to connect molex from PSU directly to the board? yep, works fine for me without any problem.
1609  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Now available: Lancelot (Heavy Duty 2 x FPGA Mining Board) on: May 09, 2013, 01:27:18 AM
Got the first one up and running. Working on setting up PSU with all six. If the fan does not start automatically, switch which 3 pins it is plugged in to and it will start right up. Here are some more pics.

Woohooo Grin! The first half of my order arrived today. Very fast shipping, only two days from China to USA. I still have to make up some power cords to attach to the ATX adapter, but I think the later order will come with them. See pics below

Unless I have been conspiring with Blackarrow since 2011, I would say this is at least one independent confirmation that lancelots are shipping. I have not fired it up yet, so that will come later tonight  Wink.
1611  Economy / Auctions / Re: WTS 50 Shares in my Bacth 3 avalon A on: May 08, 2013, 02:56:44 PM
Yeah, I just assumed this was per share. Please disregard my bid if this is for all 50 shares.

is it possible to auction for 1 share ? i'm running out of btc ^^

OT : also post 100 :>
1612  Economy / Auctions / Re: WTS 50 Shares in my Bacth 3 avalon A on: May 08, 2013, 02:32:24 PM
I'll start it off with a bid for 2 shares at 1.25 each.

As new firmware comes out, does each share still count as 1/65th of the total machine or 1gh/s regardless?
1613  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Now available: Lancelot (Heavy Duty 2 x FPGA Mining Board) on: May 08, 2013, 01:33:16 PM
I'll add that so far I have received great customer service and fast communication. I am tracking a delivery scheduled for later today and will post pictures when it arrives.

In response to those of you arguing that these cards are barely worth it, I would suggest you are probably better off holding on to your btc instead of investing in any kind of mining. IMO the current prices for pre-ordered ASICs are comparable to these boards with longer wait periods. Asicminer USB mining drives are a perfect example https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=99497.msg1819469. They are rumored to cost around 2BTC for 300m/hs and as far as I know they are still not available. I imagine in a few months a limited supply will become available in large lots and they will be resold for more than what these lancelot boards cost today.

just wanted to let you guys know, although you guys ran into trouble and some choices might not have been perfect, the speed at which you are communicating and the transparency for the reasons you run into trouble (Even possibly problematic decisions, such as buying not enough chips early on), are very commendable.

Compared to many other companies, you can take at least pride in the way you are communicating.

Thank you for that. It's not only the speed.

Now we've secured the IC and even managed to get them manufactured in the first batch. Our staff is in the factory right now.

The Lancelot boards should be ready on Friday, tested by Saturday and shipped Saturday, Monday or Tuesday, depending on the customer's payments. All our queue will be cleared then and as promised from our first email message, we will not have missed the deadline (well we've missed it but only by 1-2 days). I think you'll agree that we've done admirably.

Regards!

Is it? The sum of the top 10 bids is clearly > 4 BTCs. I find it reasonable that he could withdraw BTCs from the top 10 bids. If he withdrew all 27 BTCs when the top 10 were only 13 BTCs then yes, this is scammy.

First, I want to say thank you to Profmac for issuing a refund for the non-winning bid and I apologize for being overly critical of how this auction is being run. It seems I may have become a little too paranoid. I now see this as a disagreement on how auctions should be run, rather than evidence of some kind of scam. I still disagree with transferring funds before the auction is over, but I no longer see this as a mark of a scam. I retract my request to refund my other bids and hope others will not be dissuaded from bidding because of my comments.

At the time I saw the 4btc transfer, this auction had been going on for a month with no end in sight and the discussion on this thread had gone down to a trickle. I was not concerned with the amount of the transfer, but the fact that the amount left was less than the sum total of my bids. If all of my bids were out bid and Profmac did not want to extend the number of winners, then how would I know he still had enough btc to refund my bids. For example, if you go to a bookie to place a bet and you watched the bookie hand off a sizable chunk of the money you just gave him to someone else. Then you might get worried that the bookie may not be able to cover your bet. Although in this case, my concern is not if I win the auction but getting a refund if I loose.

I hope this clears the air some.
1616  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Avalon ASIC Batch #2 Income Sharing (2nd venture--auction) on: May 06, 2013, 07:51:26 PM
ProfMac is right, Pistachio. You bought from him a % of his machine, and he is entitled to do whatever he wants with his money.

Nevertheless, I still think using the blockchain to bid in an auction is too confusing - but that's not the point now.

Since when did bidding on something become the same as buying it. If I buy it, then yes you can do whatever you want. If I bid, I expect that to be held separately until the auction is over.

Where did the 4btc go? Is the auction over?

Quick question for anyone, what size USB port does the Lancelot board use? Does it use USBmicro? I ask because a USB cable is not listed as being included with purchase.

Are these boards designed to be stack-able in say groups of five?
