I'll take 1 or 2. PMed.

Maybe someone can answer this for me as I know very little about these devices: do you need the wiibox controller for these to work or can you run them right through a usb hub to your PC, if you can run them through your PC without the box what software's can you use. Currently I use CGMiner for Scrypt

From the looks of it the wiibox is just a small linux device running minerd, There have been people that ran these on windows pc, and there has been some Raspberry Pi development. But things are still in the experimental area since this hardware is so new. It's one of the reasons I want a couple, see if I can get these mining on a Pi with a self modified version of cgminer.

I was just told that on another forum thread, I was also told though they dont work with Win64bit at the moment no driver support yet, alas I run Win64 and do not have any plans for dualbooting

They run on Win8-64bit with minred. You have to reset them every few hours and that's were the wiibox is probably helpful. The hash rate fluctuates wildly from 200kh-400Kh. I have one that runs pretty stable for almost 24 hours at a time and another that needs to be constantly reset every 6-10 hours.

Thanks but if you use a power usb hub and only do script you still need to put an adaptor of 12v to each one?

Nope, it receives the work but does nothing with it. Maybe if you have some juiced up HUB you could try it but not on a normal powered HUB or directly plugged into the PC. It screws up the COM ports doing this and you have to restart your PC  Undecided.

Why is the pool mining DOGE with only 55Mh? Regardless if it is the most profitable, isn't anyone mining with your pool going to take a serious hit with variance?

Can you add some comparison stats between estimated LTC mining and mining at your pool?
1366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gridseed GC3355 -Hybrid Scrypt/SHA256 ASIC on: February 15, 2014, 01:39:06 PM
What is the easiest method of powering the 5-chip model?

I received a 12v 5a power brick that as easy as it gets for powering each gridseed. It is not as efficient as a PSU but it is a clean setup.
1367  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [Sold Out] 4 Gridseed GC3355 LTC/Scrypt/Sha256/BTC Miners (0.4BTC) on: February 15, 2014, 03:37:43 AM
2 arrived in good shape with power bricks for each.

I am working on the CPUminer and will update when I have these puppies hashing.

Update: I'm trying it out at clevermining.com Don't use clevermining. These devices do not like this pool. Wafflepool.com is working much better and I am seeing 250-400Kh per Gridseed unit. Use different worker names for each device.

Here is a link for CPUminer https://mega.co.nz/#!CYc31a5A!TXkE50YSinX8xB36DXmdlgEsxullJxWEkNSu8gKlcow

The setting I am using are:

minerd --freq=750 --gc3355=COM port here -o stratum+tcp://us.clevermining.com:3333 -O BTC address here_worker:x

1368  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: GRIDSEED Group Buy on: February 14, 2014, 07:45:33 PM
I'd buy 30 if escrow is an option!

I'm seeing alot of these posts popping up, I keep trying to get involved to get some security involved, But nothing.

Might do one of my own  Cool

You should. they only require 100 units for an order direct from Gridseed. You just need an address in China to receive them. I'm in if you do.
1369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gridseed GC3355 -Hybrid Scrypt/SHA256 ASIC on: February 13, 2014, 11:27:52 PM
It very depends on possible price?

Who wants to join me for a group buy for Chips:Gridseed GC3355 in France/europe ?
I would like to buy some chips if the price is good. Located in the US.

Where are people getting the chips? I emailed Gridseed direct and they said they are only selling the 5chip units at this time.

Can anyone comment on the SHA-256 auto-switch pool? Does this make any sense compared to straight BTC? I pointed 600Gh since last night and nothing has been auto-traded to BTC as of this morning. I like the idea of supporting alt-coins but I don't want to be just wasting hash power. What have others experienced?

Did you fill in a autotrade threshold? set it to 0.01 and trading will start

Thanks, that seems to have fixed it. Now, I have auto-trades in the queue.

This looks pretty interesting. Anyone try Gridseed chip miners on this pool?

Order 489 for two arrived today to ne usa without notice.  The very day I anticipated... Oh how sweet!
Got one up and running behind a router but both ants have the same ip and I'm stumped at the moment as to what to do with the second one. Changing the ip seems obvious enough but I think I'm missing something even more obvious Undecided

Change the IP under Network for the eth1 click Edit and change the 192.168.1.99 to anything that is not currently being used such as 192.168.1.200 then save and apply.

Hi,

Any reason why the S1 I ordered from Sushi was manufactured in Dec 2013 and has thermal paste everywhere, when I ordered two direct from Bitmain that were manufactured in Jan 2014 and are clean as a whistle?

I am generally happy with the service from Sushi, but I am not sure why this group buy's miners are older and have thermal paste oozing out the sides. All three were ordered within a week of each other and arrived on the same day (due to weather delays).

Any ideas?

Any word on if these are still up for sale?

Yep, actually I have three more available, I was keeping them for another user, but he has not replied me.  All three are ready to ship immediately at 0.41btc each. Escrow accepted.

I'll take two then.

Well I have been scamm with a Escrow so I just prefer half-pay before shipping and half-pay after shipping.

At least I cut the risk in 2.

 Grin

Please explain how you were scammed with an escrow? And, which escrow?
1377  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 4 Gridseed GC3355 LTC/Scrypt/Sha256/BTC Miners (0.4BTC) on: February 09, 2014, 03:08:49 PM
PMed. I'll take two with escrow at stated price (each for 0.41BTC shipped). Waiting for response confirm date of availability and escrow.

FYI: It looks like from the other thread these can do 450-500Kh with the new firmware.
1378  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN - Group Buy]Dualminer USB ASIC sha/scrypt miner $85 [USA Only] on: January 29, 2014, 10:58:45 PM
Are we looking at a post-Chinese New Years shipping date or is there a possibly of having these shipped sooner? If this ships next week, I'm ready to pay for 16 in the first batch.

Any possibility of Dwolla/Paypal for larger orders, say 50+?

1379  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN - Group Buy]Dualminer USB ASIC sha/scrypt miner $85 [USA Only] on: January 29, 2014, 07:00:00 PM
Can you get the 5 chip or the bigger miners?
I will only be getting the USB devices that you see up above.  Cool

Can you verify that the turn around time will be a week or less? If I order today, you think you can ship by next Wednesday? If so, put me down for 16 USBs.
If we all at least make the 300 quota and pay then I will be able to put in the shipment.

Are you going to be getting the 5 chip ones too?

This looks to be your first group buy (please correct me if I am wrong). Are you accepting escrow or have you been vetted by a senior member? Either of these would probably help speed up the orders.
