1301  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: LightningAsic Gridseed Controller Firmware V3 on: April 02, 2014, 07:22:00 PM
I'm having trouble accessing the ip address from the web browser. It keeps trying to load but I get nothing. This has been the case since my two miners were fried. It looks like whatever happened blew the USB-to-TTL board in each of the miners. Is there a way to reset the TP-link or is probably dead?

Edit: Paperclip in the reset button worked. Still not sure about the stability on these. Anyone else try a non-powered usb with better results?

Now, I get the following message when I try to load the V1 bin.  V2 bin is rejected as unknown file.

Edit: Okay, it turns out these bin files are a one time use. You have re-download the file for each controller that you need to flash.

What do you want for just the laptop shipped within USA?

If you are willing to break up the set, I'll offer 0.7btc for two miners with the laptop.

Edit: I don't need the power brick for the miners, only the USB cables and USB hub.
1304  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: * ZoomHash Gridseed Ultimate Mining Case Modules ON SALE NOW * on: April 02, 2014, 12:33:11 PM
It looks like someone might be able to pick one of these up for under $20 unless there are more bids soon.

Where would you attach the switch PSUs or is the design based on a single standard PSU for power?
1305  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Mining help. Money Wise... on: April 02, 2014, 11:45:34 AM
Buying bitcoin is a much better option than spending $400 on mining equipment. That being said, I would buy a S1 direct from Bitmain or a local reseller for right around that amount. Mine 80% of the original cost in btc and then sell the hardware on ebay.

Edit: Also check the promos from GAWminers and you might get a good deal. They had a $100 off $300 promo a week ago that meant I was able to buy two Gridseed miners for $279 shipped.
1306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [GUIDE] GridSeed Miner Support/Tuning on: March 31, 2014, 05:19:46 PM
Is there any way to make it hash faster than 360MH without tinkering with soldering ... what about those firmware rumors from back in early March?

You mean mid-Feb. and they still have not released it yet, just more 'secret' pictures.

So, a kit with a 12v 3a output will only power three gridseed miners and a tp-link for $159?
1309  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Gridseed and BFGminer. Easy to setup compared to CGminer? on: March 30, 2014, 01:14:57 PM
Try the following setup with a raspberry pi and bfgminer https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=517451.0. I was not happy with cgmienr 3.7.2 on Win7 or raspberry pi because the hashrate would slow down after 6-10 hours with more than 10 miners and the reject rate went from 0.45% to 3%.
1310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [GUIDE] GridSeed Miner Support/Tuning on: March 29, 2014, 04:16:44 PM
Don't bother with all of the Scripta bullshit...

Hashra doesn't require any of the nonsense to setup and is way easier to use.

I was one of the earlier Hashra customers (20 pack with accessories) - review --> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=524363.0

Tonight I was able to try the Hashra Controla flavor RasPI image.. very nice and easy to use.. (I also updated the firmware with ease just two clicks).  I think the only thing missing is some fail over pool options..

I also have been testing out the Zoomhash image on a couple test miners.. not really impressed, but it works. got to utilize heavy putty action tho -   I heart me some Web/GUI interface (Controla/Scripta types)..

My original 20 are running on two RasPIs with a scripta version from last week (10 each).. no issues... I tried to run all 20 (10 per hub both plugged into the pi) no joy.. about 4-6 miners would stop a random times and then the whole thing would freeze up.

I will be attempting the 20 count on the Hashra Controla when I have some more time.

Anyone try it yet?

(if Hashra would have given me the heads up I would have ordered their new 20 pack, but spent the extra 20 bucks and did it through ZH last night (w/coupon code).  I really want to test out the new Hashra shipping speeds...  (edit: looks like a $150 shipping charge is added... that doesn't beat my ZH deal after all)

Ive been running 20 gridseeds on a single Pi running Hashra Control set to 850mhz hashing at 352kh/s for the last week and only 2 hardware errors so far.

What kind of rejects are you getting pool side? I tried downloading their image from the website but it always says corrupted after the download finishes.

Edit: Does the Hashra image have a dual mining option?

Announcement

DigInForce hereby declare the disqualification of Scrypt-hash (http://www.scrypt-hash.com/) agency cooperation relationship and stop its suppliers.

The 200 GridSeed USB miners purchased by Scrypt-hash have been sold out. Any sales promotion which exceeds this amount should be hard questions and also involves huge risk. Please identify the official channels to protect your legitimate rights.

If Scrypt-hash has violated your rights and interests, or need any after-sales service, please contact us through the email (sales@diginforce.com) or the service QQ (2662730739).

Due to conflict of interest between Gridseed official and Scrypt-Hash team in overseas market, From March 27 2014 Scrypt-Hash team will no longer use the title "Official distribution agent" to serve the overseas market. As we have already a solid base in mining business, all our operations, sales and after-sales service just as fine as usual, and without the constraint that comes along with the official title, Scrypt-Hash can now even more competitive and energetic in developing the overseas market.

The details will be announced soon as to make the whole story transparent to the public.

So, you bought 200 from diginforce, made yourself their reseller, sold them to build reputation, now become a scam and waiting for bigger fish.
even gridseed and diginforce have to step in and issue official risk warning to public.  Still, you claim business "as fine as usual" and "more competitive and energetic".
Come on, they are not going to supply gridseed products to you, how are you going to continue the scam?

I hate to say JustASIC is right, but a moderator should place a warning on this thread. http://bbs.wiibox.net/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=232 There is an official warning against buying from this company.

thanks for your support. I found someone who is going to try to fix them. I will post pics and info if they can be fixed.
1313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [GUIDE] GridSeed Miner Support/Tuning on: March 29, 2014, 12:00:57 PM
I tried running some Gridseed miners with cgminer 3.7.2 on a raspberry pi for a few days and I was disappointed with the results. With 20 miners it went from 7.2Kh to 6.2Kh in a few hours and stayed around 6.2-6.8Kh after that. Then I tried only 10 miners per pi and it was better but dropped to 3.0Kh at times and stayed mostly in the 3.3-3.6Kh range. I tested another set with a eeePC running cgminer on Win7 and had basically the same results as on a raspberry pi. I kept one set on a wiibox controller with 2.0.7 and it had a slightly lower hashrate / accepted shares. The kicker was the wiibox has 0.5% rejects while cgminer in linux or windows had 3.5% rejects. It looks like the wiibox is performing as well as cgminer but without the rejects. The occasional miner dropping off is still a problem with the wiibox. So, I am back to only using the wiibox controllers mining in dual mode.

Anyone else have a similar experience? I like the stability of the raspberry pi but not having dual mode and the increase in rejects is a problem.
1314  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: LIGHTNINGASIC SCRYPT ASIC miner ready. BTC+LTC ASIC miner; LA1THS, stock ready. on: March 27, 2014, 07:56:18 PM

wiibox 2.0.3 or higher
User: root
Password: +xTjPR4L%V?=s4-!Ahz3~FXZM^sW:gA_

wiibox 2.0.2 or lower
User: root
Password: 123456

That's quite the password Smiley
How did you end up getting it? Just curious...you don't have to answer.

Is there a recommended procedure to updating the wiibox? I haven't really used my wiibox controllers yet but think I saw an update button somewhere in the web UI....translated from Chinese I recall something in the wording put me off to trying it.

If you leave it on 1.7, you can use the simple password and add a backdoor password to prevent future lockouts. The current version 2.0.7 is not too bad and adds some stuff at your direct ip address. Log in to wiibox.net, bind your controllers, and there is a unified update option towards the top left. They still restart every few hours with the willbox controllers. The hash rate jumps around more with the wiibox. So, I am not sure if it is better to use the wiibox controller or cgminer/bfgminer. I do like that the dual mining works with the wiibox. I can get 60-120Gh and 2600-3300Kh on the 850 frequency drawing 475w at the wall with each set of 10 miners.

Yeah, the password might change again after I posted this. So, be warned on updates after 2.0.7.

1315  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: LIGHTNINGASIC SCRYPT ASIC miner ready. BTC+LTC ASIC miner; LA1THS, stock ready. on: March 27, 2014, 04:57:39 PM
anyone know why a RED led in wiibox controller blinking?

You can turn it on and off from the IP address under 'self test' tab, top two buttons.
Thanks.

Now i got new problem.
Running self test says  system time - Abnormal
all others are normal.
Running retest gives same things.
What it mean?

I was never able to figure out how to set the correct system time, but I can post some info on how to get started.

SSH (putty.exe for Windows users) into the controller using the following,

wiibox 2.0.3 up to 2.1.0 (latest version)
User: root
Password: +xTjPR4L%V?=s4-!Ahz3~FXZM^sW:gA_

wiibox 2.0.2 or lower
User: root
Password: 123456

Then edit the following file to overclock (and maybe set the time but I don't know).

vim /www/protected/controllers/IndexController.php

Press 'i' to begin editing text and hit esc when done.

About a quarter then way down, edit the following to overclock. Keep the LTC and BTC frequencies the same.

Then type the following to write and save.

:wq

Then type,

reboot

Now, it should update.

Edit: There is a new multipool added to the wiibox site for both Scrypt and SHA mining, just enter your LTC address.
1316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [GUIDE] GridSeed Miner Support/Tuning on: March 27, 2014, 02:24:42 PM
...

You probably plugged in 20 miners on the PI, this is a problem with CGMiner.
When you click on the UPDATE CONTROLA link, it will upgrade your firmware to version 1.2.0, which has BFGMiner for scrypt hashing This solves the Cgminer problem. After this, your pi will be mining at a solid 7200mhs (and this time, it will also reflect on the pool)

I'm using for my 20 miner rig on one rasbian a clean weezy img + cgminer .... this works stable and reports 7.1 gh at the pool ... is there a cgminer problem? for more then 10 miners?

Here a 4gb Hashra image ... be sure to change pools before mining ... it's set to my setup right now ... as I used to test it ...
will try it out with 20 miners in a few minutes ...

Hashra 4 gb image

yes CGMiner is not stable with the GD5 chips, It causes them to "zombie out" after a while. When 20 miners are plugged in to 1 CGMiner instance, only half of them are actually hashing properly, while still showing maximum local hashrate, hence the much lower hashrate on the pools. BFGMiner (installed on CONTROLA 1.2.0) works perfectly with 20 miners (or more? haven't tried more). I would love to see the performance of CONTROLA with 30 - 40 miners on 1 PI...anyone want to try it? Smiley

Maxzilla, did you have anything to do with developing the HASHRA firmware? Saw your name as the default username on mine...Anyway, after the latest update that switched to BGMiner i started seeing 30+ reject rates on WafflePool only, other pools were fine.
I changed over to Scripta which has been running rock solid for a couple of days now. Are all cgminer versions unstable and did I just get lucky so far?

Hi ToxicOn.
Wafflepool is not a very friendly pool for gridseed devices (high diff?) . From what I understand, even though bfgminer reports more reject rates than cgminer, both miner software have the same share submission level, so it might be that one of the 2 flavors is giving out inaccurate readings. (I didn't write the gridseed patch for BFGMiner, you can contact nwools for that).
But the main difference between the two is, with CGMiner I'm getting significantly less pool hashrate than BFGMiner (especially when plugging in more than 10 miners on 1 PI), and that's what counts.

Anyone else getting lower hash rates with cgminer? I am using 20 miners per pi and they get a steady 7.1Kh each in cgminer but only to 6.2 to 6.8 on scryptguild with 2.7% rejects. Is this normal or do I need to reduce the pi to miner ratio?
