Looks like a USA seller is coming aboard.. please remove my reservation on this one, may go with the more local seller or sit this round out completely.

Thanks!

+1 for me too. Sorry for any inconvenience. I do want to support local resellers whenever possible. Cheers,

Put me down for 12 if you require payment immediately. If we have a few days to pay, then put me down for 21.

Cheers,

Edit: shipping to USA.

If shipping broken units back is not working out, it might make more sense to see if there is a trusted member here who could do the repairs nearby (same country would be good). This is what was done with Drillbit boards that needed some repairs. Drillbit paid for the repairs in that case. I don't know if BTMine will offer to do this but it would go a long way in terms of building some trust back.

Why are we still bumping this thread and asking if it's legit or not. A look at the website should tell you it's a scam immediately.  We are not in the bfl/avalon era anymore. Time to wake up people...

Clearly it is not legit.  Unlike the live UnicronHasher which was featured on the cover of Bloomberg's businessweek magazine....

+1

Seriously, don't give these people any money.

This is getting ridiculous.

Ordered 1/8 (they said 1/9)
1/22 was sent a non functional tracking number, they said this is what they received from the shipping company, asked me to resend my address.
1/24 no emails, no responses.  I'm worried they went on Chinese New Years.

After seeing all these QC issues, being lied to that it was in stock, getting junk tracking numbers, I don't have much trust in these guys.

Has anybody heard from them in a few days?

Same from Me, got a tracking number the 1/22 but this status is still :
Wednesday, January 22, 2014    Location    Time
1    Shipment information received    HONG KONG - HONG KONG    09:15

They asked me to cancell my dispute in paypal but I refused because I still didn't receive my item and this tracking is not a proof that I will receive it.
They answered that they are not responsible for DHL..

So I contact DHL support and they said me that this status only means that they printed the label with expedition info.
However if I don't have an update "Picking up by dhl", this means that the seller still don't send the package to DHL.

So today I sent to them this info and asked them to contact their logistic company to ask them to give my 2 miners to dhl but I didn't receive any answer.

For my experience, it looks more and more scam but ok some people received their unit so it is not. Since the 1/08 I received new excuses everydays but still have nothing from them...
I'm like you now, I'm not confident anymore with these guys and specialy when they asked me to cancel my dispute (you can only create one dispute by order) while they still didn't send me my miners....

Good luck to all and please update that topic to be sure people are aware of that ...

It took two-three days for my DHL tracking number to convert to picked up and start moving. Hopefully, they are on their way. I cannot say about the dispute process with PP. It sounds like if you don't cancel they will stop the shipment. If you do cancel the dispute, you may get nothing. Maybe they will let you wait to cancel until it shows up moving through the DHL system.

spoke to them today via email, very responsive once you open a paypal claim.

im just going to return it, with it not starting assume the controller board is fried, although i can see no evidence of any damage.

Let us know how the return goes. Are they covering the return shipping? If not, how much is it to mail it back to China?

they tried to make me cover it, but it will cost me too much as these things are too heavy. waiting on an update if their dhl account can arrange a collection.

Just curious, what PSUs were you using with it? If PP wants you to pay for shipping, it may be more profitable to sell off the modules on ebay or here on bitcointalk.

stupidly i was using their stock psu's Sad i switched out to some 750w corsairs after it stopped working but the short appears to have killed more than the psus and the network card.

strangely the controller board still flashes activity lights getting instructions from cgminer, including fans changing speed.

The 750w corsairs may not have enough amps. Check to see if they have more than 60 amps each. I had the same kind of problem you describe with cgminer and it was just the PSU. At first I went overkill and bought two 1000w 80plus gold PSUs with 83a each. Then I tried a 750w thermaltake with 62a that turns out to do just fine. They have a $10 rebate as well right now. I hope this helps. A 35lb return to China sounds quite daunting.

Got my 2 today that I paid in BTC.
Neither has the PSU I paid for, even after being this late. I will be reopening my paypal dispute, this is unacceptable.

I have two of the blue PSUs that came with mine that I have no use for. You are welcome to them if you send me a shipping label.

10-12 days seems about on par with what's been happening lately.

Can anyone confirm or deny if I should just trash the included PSU's in the US?

They are 170-230Vac you need 220v connection for them. See pictures few pages back.

They will work fine as long as they don't blow up.

Now New problem I purchased 2 coolmax PSU and they are rated for 750w @57a and for some reason they are not powering up when connected to the power distribution board. Does both PSU have to match for it to work? are the 2 6 pins are inter changeable? Not sure what's going wrong but it does not power up. I can do the paperclip trick and it runs but it will not power the blade. I'm halfway there just need to get power to the other blade. Anyone know this answer?

Okay so do you have a pic of the other end. I am still running the PSU that came with it on the other side. I'm not sure if I'm putting the plugs in the right place. I'm not even sure what the plugs do. All I know is that the fan would half spin then stop. Anyone else that provided their own PSU have a answer for this?
Reading through all your post is really starting to scare me. Please don't electrocute your self. I don't want to read the yahoo news post about you on the front page with the Headlines GUY that had no clue what he was doing Electrocutes him self trying to setup a bitcoin machine!!!

If the fan half spins and stops then you may be trying to use a PSU that does not have enough amps. You might have fried your PSU. It may still turn on but with any serious power draw it auto shuts off.

+1 on the do no electrocute yourself. You can always sell it as is on the forum or ebay.

Seriously, 60a on a single rail is needed for reliable power for each blade.

EDIT: This is the cheapest PSU I have found that works (currently hashing away) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153174.

someone knows how to mine by pluggin the usb to my laptop  ? Version of cgminer / .bat to use ?

i pm'd btmine, if they can ship the defective part and I can mine connected to a computer I'll be happy.

Are you sure it's not your PSU? I had the same screen issue when I tried to run it from a blown PSU. The intro screen popped up and then went dead. Does the loud fan come on?

If the FPGA module is not working, use a laptop and control it with cgminer via USB. cgminer 3.9.0 should work fine.

yes the fan are ultra loud 80 or 100% i'd say.

ok i'll check this tomorrow and i'll ask another module.

thanks.

For cgminer 3.90, use zadig http://zadig.akeo.ie/ to switch the drivers to winUSB. Then just start cgminer and it should pick it right up.

Hello all. So I received my the unit yesterday. DHL works on MLK day in the US. So at the start i was able to get connected to the machine. I was able to connect from my laptop to the unit via supplied IP address. I followed the direction that was posted via Antminer interface it was the same interface. I then changed the IP to DHCP and connected it to my router. I was able to access the unit after plugging in random IP address to firefox. I went in and added my pool information. I reset and the machine was not hashing at all. I went through the interface and found a list of items that had enable/start/ buttons on them. I went ahead and clicked them and now I can not connect to my unit at all. I pressed the reset button located on the TP-link board but it is not working.
I saw somewhere that someone connected it via USB but not sure what they connected it to. Would I be able to plug this into a Raspberri Pi? On top of that one of the PSU blew. Will this unit still work if one of the PSU is not on? I don't see why it would not. Does anyone have any suggestions on getting this damn thing to work. Thanks ahead of time.

One blade will hash if you plug in a single PSU. Plug the blue USB cable inside the avalon to a PC/raspberry pi and it should work fine with cgminer.
1395  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY WORLDWIDE]BTMine v1 Miner 200GH/s BTC 2.4 on: January 21, 2014, 02:26:01 AM
I am using BitMinter and for some reason I am not connecting. In the worker name section should it be my username.worker or is it a , or a _?

it also says this in the CGminer APi log

[Firmware Version] => 20131110
cgminer: 176747f
cgminer-openwrt-packages: 0e12b1b
luci: 346e3e7
Socket connect failed: Connection refused

also where is the extra options of CGMiner? Sorry for all the questions this thing is not as plug and play as they claim.

For bitminter, use username_workerID  For example, grumpy619_worker1

Try stratum+tcp://mint.bitminter.com:3333 for the pool address, but if it does not work try mint.bitminter.com:3333 instead.

extra options is 'more options' on the last line in the OpenWrt interface under cgminer configuration
1396  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: COLOSED [GROUP BUY6] Happy New Year Giveaway Bitmain Antminer S1 180GH 3 BTC on: January 21, 2014, 01:58:57 AM
If you are planning to overclock DO NOT replace the stock fan unless you are getting another fan with the same CFM

The stock fan pushes 130 cfm
Anything less and you run the risk of overheating or damaging the unit

I added the same exact model as the stock fan, the back blowing air out
They are about $7-8 on eBay

Just search for "4715KL-04W-B56"

I wonder if something like this would work instead and make these things basically silent. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835553002 The cfm is 119. So, it's pretty close, particularly if you use two of them.

Edit: The only problem I have had so far is that I have not been able to get OpenWrt to recognize the fan on the second blade and control the RPMs accordingly.

The power supply works.

So I got linked up now does anyone know how to configure this thing?

Try following this setup guide for the antminer S1. The OpenWrt works basically the same. Just do not try to overclock. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=344970.0

The main thing is changing the ip to work with your network and then adding your pool info.
1399  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY WORLDWIDE]BTMine v1 Miner 200GH/s BTC 2.4 on: January 20, 2014, 11:43:47 PM
Doe everyone have different IP address on the for the miners. I am hard wired to a router and the IP addres I am using is not gettin g a signal.

Plug it directly to your computer/laptop and change your Ethernet adapter settings. Go to the Ipv4 and change it to the following:

IP Address: 192.168.0.254
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1

DNS: 8.8.8.8

Then unplug and re-plug in your miner. Now try the IP address from the side of the machine. If that does not work then try using an IP scanner program such as angry ip scanner (free version works just fine) http://angryip.org/w/Download. Now search from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.254 If your Ethernet adapter is setup correctly, it should tell you which ip address to use.

You could also just try 192.168.0.100 as a default for some machines.
1400  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: How difficult is to mount a bitcoin mining Rig? on: January 20, 2014, 01:53:25 PM
No, don't do it unless you actually know someone who is already building miners and can work your chips into their production line. Generally, don't use these chips either. They are very inefficient. I have one and I am not impressed. You are better off using bitfury chips, bitmain chips, or planning to build something with future chips on order (from blackarrow, bitmine.ch, or cointerra). I would not trust any of the other start ups.

I thought about something similar with bitfury chips and it just did not make sense in the end. It is far easier and often times cheaper to just buy fully manufactured miners in bulk.

Why not buy 20 antminers from bitmain? They normally ship in less than four days.

EDIT: Better yet, buy 10 and wait for your ten coupons to show up. Then order ten more.  Wink
