1441  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: DRILLBIT SYSTEM Miners - Thumbs (Temp NA), 8 Boards (0 left) on: December 01, 2013, 12:07:40 AM
So, I hooked up my remaining 5 boards without a mini-plane, switched out the USB cables, and plugged them directly into my desktop. They seem to be running okay and I did not have the usual problems of being unrecognized by Win7 when I plug in more than 3 boards.

I am sure a fix is on the way and this will be sorted out in a few days. I do hope the dead boards can be revived somehow.
1442  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: DRILLBIT SYSTEM Miners - Thumbs (Temp NA), 8 Boards (0 left) on: November 30, 2013, 10:46:44 PM
During the last two hours I lost another of my Eight boards so I'm down to 3 out of 8 working now.

Are you using a mini-plane for power? Or, are they stand alone? I am debating if I should even try connecting them again until there is a fix.
1443  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: DRILLBIT SYSTEM Miners - Thumbs (Temp NA), 8 Boards (0 left) on: November 30, 2013, 07:13:24 PM
Three of my boards are no longer responding with a green light. The other five are unstable beyond two to five minutes. The thumb is still running fine though.

Does anyone know of a way to reset the three dead boards? If not, can I mail it back to be fixed?

My advise is don't try using a mini-plane at all and definitely do not try the double scroll. It may disable your boards.

1444  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow announces 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.49/Ghash on: November 21, 2013, 07:06:56 PM
Both the Lancelots and the Bitfury boards are controlled through USB. I am thinking they will continue to use USB. I believe it provides more control for overclocking.
Nope. Ethernet only. The bitfury boards are also not controlled via USB... not sure where you got that from.

I suspect that he is thinking Red/Blue Fury. Too many Fury names out there, confusing.

My bad. I thought that I read that somewhere. I only have Lancelots; the BA bitfurys sold out pretty fast.

Are thumbs being sent separately from board orders? Are all coming from AUS or will USA orders come separately?

Thanks,

$3K of Metal for 6BTC?

Is this a joke?

It's Bitpay's exchange rate, nothing Amagi can do about it. Bitpay was much higher yesterday. I was able to get a transaction at $639.99 mid-day. It was over $700 at some point yesterday. It's currently at $513 https://bitpay.com/bitcoin-exchange-rates.
1448  Economy / Auctions / Re: 1 Share of ASIC AVALON 85GHs (4 Module) BATCH #3 Matthew N. Wright on: November 16, 2013, 01:20:36 PM
I never got anything back from Matthew. It's sad that he's living up to his bad reputation again...

+1 same here. Although I blame Yifu as much as Matthew for this. Matthew should have sent out the corresponding percentage from his refund. I think the increase in value of BTC and greed got the best of him.

O, okay. Thanks. I just don't want to loose 10% as part of some partial refund if Blackarrow is not okay with this group buy.
1451  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: YIFU IS AUCTIONNING? on: October 16, 2013, 12:27:28 PM
I will pay 2.75 Btc for a unit or two if anyone wants to unload some at a gain?

I paid 3BTC each, so I don't think you will have much luck at that price. I am still waiting to see if they try to charge extra for shipping.

I thought the final price was 2.21 or something like that?

everyone made their own bid. Every bid 2.21 or higher won. If you bid 3btc, it's your own fault. basically there was everything between 2.1 and 3.05

Yeah, it is my fault for bidding so high. I was thinking Yifu would have a higher cut off price since they were originally listed for 6btc each. O, well. I just hope shipping is included.

Anyone hear back from Tradehill?

I'll offer 20BTC for half of your batch (25 boards), but only if we use escrow.
K ladies, stop bickering. My offer is valid for 48 hours only.

This is a good offer considering 60Gh Avalons are up for auction starting at 2BTC. You might be able to get 600Gh for that price.
where are avalons for 2btc?

by making a deal with the devil ...

1455  Economy / Auctions / Re: 500 GHash/sec for 4 months hosting contract (ONLY 4 Shares) on: October 10, 2013, 11:11:56 AM
The website states the following:

"Question: Why you do not accept group buys?

Answer: We have an experienced and dedicated customer support team that is able to provide a high quality service. They are qualified in handling and fixing all matters that might arise. Direct contact with our customers will also improve our products and customer service.

We also believe that a random person from the internet that organizes a group buy is both not qualified to handle customer support, shipping matters including local customs and might also not be trustworthy to receive all your money, forward them to us and distribute the merchandise to you. If we would accept a group buy and anything goes wrong with it, although legally we won't be responsible for this, our customers will be unhappy.

For these reasons we strictly prohibit group buys"
http://www.blackarrowsoftware.com/store/frequently-asked-questions.html

The more worrying part is the 10% charge for trying to do a groupbuy,

"Group buys: Group buys are not permitted. We will cancel any order that we discover that is a group buy and will refund the payment minus 10% that we will charge for our time wasted in this matter. By placing an order for this item you agree with the above."

I thought Blackarrow was very much against group buys like this.
1457  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow announces 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.49/Ghash on: October 07, 2013, 09:26:44 AM
I'm in for one X3 Grin. Blackarrow delivered on the Lancelots, I believe they will deliver on their ASICs. Their timeline seems more realistic than others and KNC has proven that it can be done quickly if the process is well managed.

1459  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Comprehensive ASICMiner Blade Setup on: September 22, 2013, 01:23:31 AM
Does anyone have any tips for hooking up a server PSU to the backplane.  I'm not sure if I have to do anything special to get it running other than plugging it in directly to the board.  I don't want melt my Blades.  Sad

The server PSU plugs right in (red pull tab facing away from the blades) and runs at a steady 799 watts. It is loud as crap and feels too heavy for the backplane connector. I would happily swap one for a regular ATX PSU with a 800w or higher ratting.
1460  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Poll] Burnins BitFury miner on: September 19, 2013, 01:04:08 AM
I have sent him 3 pms now about possibility of a GB for cheaper. Nothing. Not a Peep.

He is just busy, so might not have time to answer each and every PM. Just give him time Smiley

I sent him PMs too in the past and while he didn't replied i am sure that he reads all of them and takes them in consideration so no need to spam him.

I could be wrong but I don't think Burnin does discounts. At least that is what he said with Avalon bitburners. I don't think you will get a reply if you ask for a discount.
