The fact that bitmain has included 2 extra pci-e connectors solely for purposes of overclocking, and they are hyping how cool, quiet, and efficient they are, leads me to believe these little guys may have a lot of headroom when it comes to overclocking. S1 saw an increase in hashrate of around 10% when overclocked. Say the S3 can overclock ~20% higher hashrate, now you are in the 560-570 ghs range. That is starting to sound like a pretty good deal for .75 BTC.
Of course this is all conjecture, but plausible. Hmmmm.....it is taking a lot of willpower to not open my BTC wallet and order 2 more right now.
As per the datasheet values below, S3 can be overclocked to 504Ghs and further to 554Ghs. The stock clock speed is set in between 225M and 250M and voltage per chip lies in between 0.72Vand 0.75V per chip (366W/S3). When overclocking to 504Ghs it will be consuming around 390W at 250M Clockspeed. And when overclocking to 554Ghs the clock speed might be 275M and power consumption around 488Watts. Further overclocking may not be possible, everything lies in finding the sweet spot frequency. Take a look at DC-DC converters, they are a lot in nos, do you have any idea? Even this new chip consumes lower voltage than S1. S3 Datasheet ValuesVoltage(V) | Hash Rate(GH/s) | Current(A) | Total power(W) | W/GH 0.72 14.18 10.40 7.49 0.528 0.75 15.75 12.24 9.18 0.583 0.80 17.33 15.20 12.16 0.702 0.85 17.33 20.00 17.00 0.981 Clock Freq. I am trying to see if I should try to double up.

UPDATE: So, Dan Murtha decided to reach out to me in order to fix the situation. He asked me how much store credit I thought was fair and I said $1200 since that's how much I lost in the refund. I also said that I'd be willing to accept two S3s as well. He offered me $1000 credit and I agreed. I hereby rescind/renounce/repudiate/abjure all the negative things I've said about Minersource and I will be sure to edit all recent posts referencing them to reflect this update. Thanks Minersource for doing the right thing in the end.
I am glad to see that this worked out.

Got an email back from Minersource.
Should I get added to the refund queue and wait it out, or get MS store credit immediately to get potentially a Rocket Box in a few days?
What you guys think?
It's funny how when I requested to have some Dragons or SP-10s sent to me in lieu of the X-3, they said that they can't do hardware exchanges and instead gave me a reduced value refund. You really need to file a complaint here, http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/default.aspx. There is no way that will hold up in court.

Good luck with getting a refund. I paid less than half the current asking price for X3s and X1s, and BA still will not give me a refund. I don't think Minersource.net has the cash to cover all of the refunds. We will see who folds first, BA or Minersource. The real issue isn't with minersource, they are trying to uphold their end - unfortunately they don't have your money, black arrow does, it's been sitting in their bank account drawing them interest all this time. I've read their forums a few times and checked out their frequently asked questions; from the looks of things if you want your money back you'll have a long wait (and just may want to get a lawyer involved - class action lawsuit?).
Now personally I think minersource should be applauded if they have been reimbursing customers out of pocket; to me that says a lot about their character; they seem to be doing everything in their power to keep their customers happy. Now if only Black Arrow took a page from their book.
Just be patient with minersource..
I've only had good dealings with them; they no doubt have to field the same questions from hundreds if not thousands of disgruntled customers that are getting fed up with this continuous hold cycle that Black Arrow has thrust upon every one.
While I agree with you 100% and have had nothing but happy dealings with MinerSource, they chose to partner with the likes of BA, and frankly, it doesn't really matter who has my money, as a US citizen who formed an agreement with a US company to deliver goods, they are bound by US laws to refund me if I so choose. I think you are confusing people as being disgruntled with MinerSource when that is not the problem, but, I can either choose to wait and receive machines that have a 75% chance of not returning what I invested in them over a 6+ month period, or I can get my money back today. You would have to be a fool at this point to trust BA with any more money or to even deliver a proper product.

looks like i have to open this can anyone tell me how to redeem it without coinbase? thanks in advance. If you have to go this way, you can use blockchain.info to import for free https://blockchain.info/wallet. Just don't sweep the wallet, import the key into your wallet to avoid a transaction fee.

Don't open that. I'll do 1.1BTC w/escrow shipped to USA. You are in the Philippines right? What does shipping cost with tracking to USA?

Let me help make this decision easier for Minersource.net. I will be emailing shortly requesting a USD refund. Now, it's time to pony up and pay the full USD value of all previous and ongoing refunds for Blackarrow products. Just to be clear, I requested a refund for the 0.8028 BTC I paid for compensation PSUs for X1s and an X3. Since then, Blackarrow has backed off their claim that they will ship compensation units with the original order and they refuse to discuss the final terms of compensation until after all original orders have shipped. I find this to be a breach of the sale's contract I had with them and requested a refund from Blackarrow. I then requested a refund from Minersource for the extra PSUs. They do not have the PSUs in stock and could not say when they would be available. They should have never sold the compensation PSUs in the first place. To my knowledge, none of the compensation PSUs from Minersource have shipped. I requested a refund for the same amount I paid and in the same form of payment. I was told contradictory statements on their refund policy. They said first they can only send the current exchange rate value of BTC. Then I was told they could only send USD as a check in the mail. Now, they have stopped responding to my emails and support tickets. Here's the bigger problem, they told several customers over the past few months that they can only receive refunds from Blackarrow products in BTC and at the exact value of BTC they paid. At the time, this meant that the customers would receive significantly less in USD value from what they paid in BTC. Now, they are going the other direction and claiming they only want to send out USD exchange rate value because it is to their advantage to do so. I have posted this before and I will say it again. I am happy to accept USD exchange value at the time of sale instead of the actual amount of Bitcoins I paid, if they agree to apply the same refund policy to all other customers who purchased Blackarrow products. I am asking for transparency in their refund policy and equal treatment for customers. Just a warning here, Minersource is not scamming as i have received my X-1 Tracking number. BA doesn't seem to be scamming either as they're sending out products but i think incompetency was Blackarrows issue. Pistachio is on a revenge rampage against minersource right now because they wouldn't refund him more money than he paid so i would ignore him. I will have pictures of my X-1 that shipped from minersource as soon as i get it and i plan on doing an instructional video as well. So just relax BA is shipping the products to their resalers and it seems that on their official forums buying who bought directly from them are also receiving tracking numbers and units. The products are coming.
He shouldn't request more than he paid, but should get a normal refund like any other customer. The question is whether he got it or not. I saw a number of negative comments here about BA, so there has to be something to it.

They encourage anyone who dealt with a company based in the US to file a complaint if they have been scammed. We need everyone who has been scammed to come forward to get this moving faster.

For reference, I sold one about a year ago for 0.80BTC and it was in a little worse condition. This one looks nice!

So let me get this straight.. He sent BTC, wants a refund, but minersource is choosing to refund the USD amount. But when I got my refund, minersource chose to refund the same amount of Bitcoin instead of the USD equivalent. And you think this is fair? So minersource benefits regardless of the price of Bitcoin, because they'll choose to refund the option that benefits them every time. I guess I was right in my presumption that had the price of Bitcoin gone up from when I purchased (BTC =$1167 when I paid), then they'd try to get me to accept less Bitcoins to coincide with the USD value, versus them forcing me to accept the same amount of coins, even though the value has fallen by half since then.
Like I said, they're having their cake and eating it too.
So, what is it Minersource? Refunds based on actual BTC paid or the exchange rate with USD? Pick one and I'll accept it as long as you apply this rule retroactively to anyone who ordered Blackarrow related products. Is that fair enough for you?

Has anyone found an efficient way of getting refunded at a more immediate pace. Im getting tired of waiting and getting a refund after shipping as they offer now is just unacceptable. Has anyone outside of China been refunded recently?
You need to file a report at http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/default.aspx and hopefully enough people file as well to create a case for the DOJ/FBI. Otherwise, I don't think so. Is this an American only thing or international? Unfortunately, only for minersuorce orders or if you are in the US. See, "Q: Can I file a complaint if I have been victimized by an individual or company in the United States, but I am not a citizen of the United States? If one of the two parties involved is located within the United States, please feel free to file a complaint."
