It depends on your definition of "really comfortably". I live in Michigan, my family lives comfortably on about $20 per day per person.
I tried to clear this up in an earlier post: He claims you can live rather opulently.
Neither of us really know much about other places & the conversation started as "I hear you can live real good overseas for like, nothing." I realize $1000 a month is a regular living to a lot of folk... but for this particular conversation, Basically he is claiming resort style living is possible. Sipping drinks on the beach while some local bbq's him dinner and another gives him a foot rub kinda deal. I was wondering how close to that you could realistically get. seems like a long shot.. possibly if you owned a house and had $30 per day to live on, on top of the place to live.

How much hashrate is that $2168 going to buy you in December? Oh... that's right. Zero. As expected. Oh, hey... since Tom is transparent, can you tell me how much power the bASIC is going to use? No? What about ... well, can you tell me anything technical about the basic? I mean, it WAS suppose to ship this week, right? So there must be some technical specs floating around somewhere? Some pictures? A diagram or two? Maybe the specs on the power connector, right? Something? Anything? Transparent as mud!
Why does Tom scare you so much? Are you worried that even with his delays he'll ship before you? Not sure how you get scared of out of that, but whatever you say! Not sure how you can state these things when you guys are doing the exact same thing. You release possibilities...

They bring it on themselves? There was just a full page of gibberish insults because they added an 'ignore' button on their forum. If they shipped tomorrow, there would be a dozen fucking threads here complaining that they shipped early.
LOL probably. Or that they didn't ship out enough units at once.

Yup these are all good. Saved them for last. However I cannot accept $85 shipped. You are getting well over 1000mh/s . Thanks for your interest I'd go $85 shipped on each card in BTC. Escrow thru Graet. I'm assuming all the fans are good and cards are not overheating in any way and are able to mine at stock speeds.
I'd really be surprised if you get more than $85 on each board this late in the game. If we were talking about 6-8 weeks ago, your price would have been a bit closer to reality. In about 4 weeks, $1000 will avail a miner of approximately 50GH/s of mining power. GPUs will be worthless with regards to bitcoin mining. Gaming is another matter, but gamers would consider these 2 generations behind current, so again, not a really big market. Good luck with your sale, and if you are interested in selling, shoot me a pm. oh really

That fact that a lot of people powered up their rigs to specifically try and mine blocks #209999 & #210000 could also have had a part in this.
I think this is what happened... Lots of people turned on to finish the 50BTC blocks...
