The entire Pr seems to be run by one person who only comes along to put out fires and has very little clue about crypto at all. Everything get referred to a single dev by the looks of it. Plus the nameless shills who have nothing but awesome things to say, much in the same vain as paycoin. Gosh it's bleak in here, spent the last couple hours catching up the last week and a half of posts.
I wasn't suggesting a fake. But one that gave a better ideal of how coins are distributed in the available market.
Though it hasn't turned out as I'd expected, neucoin still has potential. As long as that is the case I will be a mod and speak in its defense. Though I am a bit concerned.
P.S. I did not run away from neucoin. I have a bit more dignity than to simply disappear. I was busy trailing in the mountains and now I'm back in my hometown getting back into the swing of things here. I've been away from my hometown awhile.

I think you guys are missing the point. Anyone who wants to mine (and knows how to do it) can mine the good old way with a standard qt miner. People can and will start mining pools etc and mine Neucoin just like any other PoS coin. Even PoW actually in the first year.
No one has to sign up for any growth accounts. In fact, if you know how to mine why would you? Just mine they way you normally do.
But you forget how insanely technical mining is for 99.99% of the population. There are VERY FEW people who know what this means, let alone how to do it, or that would ever want to have to learn. That's who the growth accounts are for.
Neucoin is going after consumers, not miners and speculators. Sure, they need miners and speculators too - but their whole idea is to get lots of consumers.
And consumers will never download a client. Never, ever, ever. They don't know anything about computers or blockchains. They don't know about mining. Just as they don't know much about bitcoin. Or will ever download a client or even join a mining pool. They just want to click something on their phone.
But if these consumers earns some free coins by playing a game, and if there's an easy way to just click right there on their phone and those coins start to multiply so that he can play even more games, they may think it's cool.
So, the growth accounts isn't the only way you can mine Neucoin. Again, if you know how to mine, just mine. The growth accounts isn't for us here on bitcointalk, it's just a consumer feature for the facebook mainstream who has never even heard of "cryptocurrency". And for them it's pretty great, drop and drag and your coins are multiplying. They key here is easy and fun. That's all the facebook masses care about.
Fun? Waiting 3 months to play again? Slowly giving any value you had to the nokoin team. Being misled by the nokoin team. Being lied too by nokoin team. Being ignored by the nokoin team. Being guided by the likes of Torrgeek and his "proof of fud" theories. Being patronised by James. Wondering if my computer is infected. Surely your missing the bigger point that you are mining a soon to be worthless coin. When nokoin Project team grow the balls to tell us how many nokoin they have kept, and will receive, in a clear way, then we will all see the robbery going on here. Maybe even you. My solution would be: Lifting the price to 0.00004, building a buywall, announcing that the project has failed and call it off. After that they could try to restart it in 6 months with a different design... but doubtful that there would be a way back for them.
Nice solution. Should be seriously considered by nokoin. Before it get's too messy for their investors, And everyone ends up loathing them. The last 2 days I really believed it could be possible that they could do something like that. Not most probably but possible. That's why I was really eager to see the first signs in which direction they will try to go and today there are signs. Sandrine is posting again, but it's the usual and not very relevant stuff. So it looks as if they just will go on with what they do or not do or try and hope etc. 0.00004 may not be Dans target price of course. That maybe too "fair" 0.00003 or even 0.00002 maybe in his sights. Would make a cheaper exit. |

The design itself leads into dishonesty.
It does, but in this case it looks like (greed led to) dishonesty led to design. IMO. They could have pulled the launch, returned bitcoin. That would have given a certain kind of credibility. Then tried again. In over 18months development they could have changed the total #nokoins. They could have changed the pay structure. They could have changed anything. They held surveys. They asked for imput. They claimed innovation in the original WP only to admit it was a Blackcoin feature. They claimed $2.25m investment only it was half in paid work by the team. (never clarified, corrected on coin telegraph) They will not give details on "team" payments. They claim to be professional yet ban a $10k investor from their forum because he asked for a promised update. (outcome of) Their forum is a deliberate confusion of waffle. They claim it is easy to get yet no getnokoin at launch. Dan makes his first visit to nokoin forum and bans 3 members, (1 investor) Mark denies deleting posts. ect. James any Baby left to misinform investors all summer long. I mean... really. What honest people would do that to their coin? |
