101  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: BitBox02 Experiences on: March 09, 2024, 10:10:37 AM
Hm.  I'm puzzled as to why anyone who'd get a HW wallet would also sign up for insurance like that, especially when it requires all sorts of personal information.
Their target audience is only those who have invested a significant amount without having the proper knowledge of protecting their assets [these are the type of people who only care about results, so they tend to throw away money for any type of protection (even if the trade-off is between convenience and privacy)].

  • It's quite frustrating to see BitBox and some of the other known brands have chosen the route of offering solutions that rub more salt into the wound!

And I have to say that when it comes to wallets--from software ones to hardware--the simpler, the better.
I completely agree with the above line [If it doesn't mean sacrificing some of the necessary features].
- Usually, mas malaking fee ang binabayad natin sa CPFP dahil kailangan good enough ang Tx fee natin for two transactions (parent and child Txs).
103  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Philippines SEC will Ban Binance. Effectivity End of Feb. 2024 on: March 08, 2024, 02:30:08 PM
Looks like na delay ang ban ng binance dahil sa in-between na discussion ng binance at SEC PH.
Sa mga nababasa ko kabayan, parang wala namang discussions sa pagitan ng Binance at SEC [internal discussions lang ang ginagawa ni SEC tungkol sa Binance] at considering na mukhang hindi pala kailangan ng court order ang NTC para iblock nila ang mga ganitong platforms [credit goes to BitPinas (e.g. OctaFX)], it could be just a matter of time bago mangyari ang ban na ito.
104  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Anong hardware wallet ang mairerecommend nyo ngayon? on: March 08, 2024, 12:34:02 PM

  • More cryptocurrency support
  • MicroSD card PIN encryption

featue na Secure Element Protection, ano ibig sabihin niyan? Kumbaga sa security parang 2FA or another layer of protection?
Basically, it's another layer of protection: Secure Element in Trezor Safe 3

Display replacement: LX154A2411
105  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Crypto Vending Machine on: March 06, 2024, 06:00:53 PM
106  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ViaBTC free slots available [1 Jan 2024] on: March 06, 2024, 02:43:07 PM
Only one acceleration per account still beats being overrun by Ordinal spammers who make it impossible to use.
You have a point, but the rate at which these restrictions are being introduced in such a short period is a clear indication that sooner or later, there'll be no free accelerators left [I hope I'm wrong].

I am curious to know whether an account is allocated one lifetime free transaction, or is it reset after a specific period of time?
I can happily confirm that after four days, I was able to accelerate another transaction from my main account [I didn't check on the third day, so that might be the limit].
107  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 52 Hardware Wallets, compared feature by feature on: March 06, 2024, 01:04:48 PM
Thanks for the feedback. I couldn't reproduce it, but probably the amount of data in the table is starting to be huge, mainly on the hardware wallets screen. I am planning to implement any kind of pagination, so the website can support more items.
You're very welcome Smiley I'm not sure what you did yesterday, but I'm no longer experiencing the issue in question [the lag used to be around the header area only], so perhaps there's no need for the above implementation yet [the current one-page design is great for using the Ctrl + F].

That is true, but most modern smartphones have NFC this days, even cheap models.
You're right [it could be an option for a lot of users], but as someone who only uses extreme/tough rugged phone cases, I prefer not to remove my phone case to have a smooth experience with a hardware wallet [I had a lot of bad experiences for changing such phone cases in the past (e.g. Breaking the phone case or chipping a small part of my previous phones)].

Nice find!
I will try it later to confirm if it works,
Thank you... For some reason, I can't find a way to manually enter any discount codes [quite weird], and despite seeing on the cart page that "discounts are calculated at checkout", the following discount link didn't have any impact on the price:

Code:
https://store.twenty-two.xyz/discount/LOSTEMPIRE
108  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 52 Hardware Wallets, compared feature by feature on: March 05, 2024, 02:53:07 PM
and it is connected with smartphone via NFC connection.
Unfortunately, that also means it's not going to work with certain types of phone cases.

Portal is currently being offered as pre-sale for €89
There's a 22% discount code [LOSTEMPIRE] for those who might be interested in purchasing this product.

I added Portal hardware wallet to the website.
Did you make any other changes to the tables [specifically hardware and software tables]? For some reason, it keeps lagging when I try to scroll down from the very top section in Google Chrome [I couldn't replicate it in Tor, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge browsers].

109  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Nano Ledger S Plus Firmware and Ledger Live Update? on: March 05, 2024, 01:02:32 PM
So there would be no issue still using the nano ledger s plus as is right?
I'm not sure if you've already updated the firmware to v1.1.0 or if you're still using v1.0.4 and below firmware, but the only thing that v1.1.1 brought was giving Nano S Plus users the option to use their controversial/questionable ledger recover, so you can peacefully continue to use the previous firmware version.
110  Economy / Goods / Re: Original Pieces of Art for Sale on: March 04, 2024, 04:20:55 PM
would love to have some feedback on where and how we can sell this art! We can shcedule a videocall so you can see the pieces live.
Honestly, all of them appear to be rendered images, so the first thing that you should do is replace them with actual photos of the paintings in question while also making sure that there's a handwritten note that contains your forum name with the date [on each of those pictures].

You might want to also mention if you're willing to use escrow services from this forum:

Apart from this forum, you can try your luck in the following places:
Note: I prefer not to vouch, so DYOR!

111  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Anong hardware wallet ang mairerecommend nyo ngayon? on: March 04, 2024, 02:03:32 PM

Dapat Open-source yung hardware wallet at may secure element.

So san kayo nakabili?
Sa isa sa mga official resellers nila.

Ano price range ng mga hardware wallets?
$30 to $300.

Refer to this table kabayan [under company section]: Hardware wallets

112  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Product feedback for new Hardcore Wallet on: March 03, 2024, 06:07:38 PM
We want bitcoin to be easy to use for anyone.  Turn it on, create a password, save your seed phrase and send and receive Bitcoin.
I hope its user-friendly design won't come at the cost of leaving a more robust prototype on the shelf... Would you mind sharing some of its security features?

2. We are hoping to sell the base model between $300 and $350 US and the 2TB version for $450.
Are there any other differences other than their storage capacities?
113  Economy / Exchanges / Re: eXch - instant exchange BTC / LN / XMR / LTC / ETH / ERC20 on: March 03, 2024, 01:45:57 PM
Here's my brief review of eXch:

The very first thing that I noticed was its minimum limits being so low that it makes it the best [and probably the only] option for those who want to exchange smaller amounts, so I used a small amount to pay for a monthly subscription [I do know it's the opposite of what we normally recommend to newcomers, but I wanted to see how they'd respond if I encounter a problem (FWIW, everything was buttery smooth)]... My exchange involved sending Bitcoin and receiving Monero, so I was expecting some delays due to full confirmations of the UTXOs from previous orders but to my surprise, a few seconds before mempool.space displaying the next block on their website, eXch already had sent the transaction from their end [I probably got lucky with little to no backlog, but still...].

Out of curiosity, is the 15-second auto refresh still accurate or there has been some changes that don't reflect on the order page?

  • I noticed the confirmations shown on my order page were a confirmation behind, in comparison to what was being shown at the time on blockchair [screenshot].
Note: I did check the status of your XMR node and it was displaying the correct block height at that time.
114  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ViaBTC free slots available [1 Jan 2024] on: March 02, 2024, 10:30:59 PM
I don't see any information about the new rules, due to the possible amount of acceleration during the time period. After the successful acceleration of one of my transactions, I was not allowed the next one, neither the next hour nor the next day(after 00:00)..?
Just finished doing some tests and after successfully accelerating a transaction, it kept showing the following pop-up error for a brief moment:

I just think there is some kind of limitation, whether it's for one BTC address or IP...
The only workaround so far is to create a fresh account [I was able to successfully accelerate a transaction that they refused to accelerate from my original account, so it's safe to say they're not imposing those limits on our addresses].
I had no luck with changing my IP.

It appears that eventually, they'd be following in AntPool's footsteps [unfortunately].
115  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Philippines SEC will Ban Binance. Effectivity End of Feb. 2024 on: March 02, 2024, 08:16:34 AM

Walang anuman kabayan Smiley
116  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: New HW wallet announced: COLDCARD Q1 on: March 01, 2024, 06:27:08 PM
After watching this video I can confidently say that this is one of the worst looking hardware wallets I ever saw... it's huge and wider than his smartphone  Cheesy
Cheesy

Coldcard added BBQR code format that is not supported in any software wallets... and they say it was done right  Tongue
I couldn't find the culprit behind its incompatibility with wallets that can scan animated QR codes [e.g. AFAICR, Bluewallet was one of them]... Did any of the influencers who received their Q1 [or rather Q] devices, report having issues with them?

Paying $199 for this device without batteries and USB cable included is a waste of money.
I agree, but considering that they have a history of selling overpriced products [e.g. blockclock series], we shouldn't expect more from them.
117  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: local bitcoin alternative on: March 01, 2024, 04:55:12 PM
@r00tuser
3. Verify the seller's reputation on LocalBTC.org.
What kind of preventive measures are in place to deal with those who have the resources to artificially inflate their reputation on your platform?

You might want to add 2FA as well and I also noticed the login process was somewhat buggy [I had to click it around 5 times before I could get into the dashboard].

118  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Crypto Vending Machine on: March 01, 2024, 03:25:13 PM

Quote
In July 2023, Paytaca successfully raised $450,000, or ₱24.5 million, in seed funding to enhance peer-to-peer payments and promote Bitcoin Cash adoption in the Philippines. The funds aim to transform the local payment industry by providing innovative solutions.
It's worth mentioning na nakatanggap din sila ng funds on other occasions:

Hopefully magawan nila paraan or baka naka connect sa fixed price yung presyo ng goods dito?  D ko nakita yung mechanism ng singil nila sa prices, paano ba?
Nakahanap ako ng "isang video" na nagpapakita kung paano gumagana ang vending machine na ito [fixed ang PHP value ng mga goods].
119  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Philippines SEC will Ban Binance. Effectivity End of Feb. 2024 on: March 01, 2024, 12:25:45 AM
Meaning ba nito Kabayan eh pwede pa din nating gamitin ang Binance until finalization ?
Considering na wala pang mga official na pahayag mula kina "Binance" at "SEC", then yes pero for the meantime, mas mabuti kung hindi muna natin gamitin yung mga services ni Binance.

hindi kaya indication to na meron nang nangyayaring pag uusap sa pagitan ng Binance and ng SEC natin?
Sa tingin ko masyadong late para magkaroon pa ng any kind of negotiations sa pagitan nila [unfortunately].
- Kasalanan ito ng BSP at SEC!
120  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [LIST] Wallets supporting Taproot on: February 29, 2024, 04:36:41 PM
I finally updated the list and added missing wallets, including Passport hardware wallet.
Judging by your last comment on the Keystone thread, you're probably not going to like what I'm about to say, but they finally released the update that you mentioned last week: Support for Taproot [through Sparrow] in firmware 1.3.0
