821  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: Laplas, new clipboard malware on: November 12, 2022, 05:33:16 PM
And what makes it dangerous is that this Clipboard malware has the capability to used pre or post fix, so
It reminds me of the "EthClipper" malware from last year and for some reason, it doesn't seem to have any kind of support for Taproot [Bech32m] addresses [Figure 12].

We need to be vigilant for all the time and always check the installed software so that we will not possibly get the bad ones which can cause harm to us.
It's best to check for such things "prior to" downloading/installing them!
822  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Will Hardware Wallet Manufacturers Leak Customer’s Email Data? on: November 12, 2022, 03:18:59 PM
What do you think? Will I get any spam emails,
Now that you've laid your plans on the table, I'm no longer sure it could lead to accurate results [since some of them have representatives on this forum, it would've been better not to disclose it until a month or a few has passed].

and who is the likely culprit causing it?

823  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Mga Listahan ng mga Games na may Satoshi Reward on: November 11, 2022, 10:12:09 AM
@lionheart78
824  Other / Archival / Re: [BIG LIST] Hardware wallets (80+) on: November 10, 2022, 05:58:20 PM
Their ".com" domain extension contains more information about their HW and to those who might be interested, there was a little discussion [#111 to #128] about it back in July of this year.
825  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Union Bank - Sinimulan na ang Bitcoin at Ethereum Trading on: November 10, 2022, 06:42:23 AM
I love this if it happens , having Wallet from a Bank ?  to provide for our crypto assets specially Bitcoin and Ethereum?
maybe there are lots to come dahil Union Bank ang isa sa pinaka crypto friendly bank sa Pinas.
826  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-10-19] Europe to ban crypto mining this winter on: November 09, 2022, 05:28:51 PM
but how the government now if I mining cryptocurrency, I mean if i small home maybe they probably don't know what i am doing
CMIIW, but by saying "small home", I think you were referring to those who live in apartments and the answer to your question depends on a few things... If you happen to be living in one, you shouldn't underestimate the power of your neighbors [nothing stops them from reporting you, especially in apartments that have both thin walls and bad flooring (apart from the noise issues, there are also vibration issues and the one who lives beneath your mining room, might feel some of it)]!

You might want to also refer to what @LeGaulois and @stompix posted with regard to overconsumption and continuous activities!

Small update:

828  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 10% discount on Ledger hardware wallets on: November 09, 2022, 10:40:20 AM
I don't want to click on the link because I don't know what it is. It mentions the word "referral", so he could have gotten a discount coupon from Ledger because of the people he referred to their shop who ended up purchasing hardware wallets through his referral link.
You're right... Initially, I thought he was just using a platform to display the code, but it appears to be some kind of referral that's based on giving discount codes, as opposed to direct referral links [a bit weird] and I just "found it on Ledger [it only applies to Nano X & S purchases (my bad) and I believe it's limited to only a few people]".

I saw that. I think the wording is wrong. It should probably say that if you haven't completed your KYC at Binance, you need to do it through Ledger Live. Ledger Live is just the window that allows you to perform KYC on your Binance account. You still shouldn't do it, though. That sentence makes even less sense because if you don't have a Binance account, what are you going to log in to and connect with Ledger Live? You need to have an account first. And you can't register a new Binance account today without going through KYC as well.
You're probably right and I believe the main issue is if Ledger could collect any data along the process [even if it's just a window on LL], it makes it worse than just doing the KYC part in Binance [even if you have to go back to LL afterward].
829  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 10% discount on Ledger hardware wallets on: November 09, 2022, 08:41:41 AM
Ledger just started a new promo campaign offering a 10% discount on all purchases in their official shop.
I'm surprised they only offered a 10% discount code while some of the influencers are offering a higher discount code: e.g. 20% discount

but in both cases they increased prices a lot before offering discounts  Tongue
It looks like "the same thing also applies to their shipping fees [except for Nano X]".

It's not Ledger that you need to complete your KYC verification with, it's with Binance.
You're right [for the most part], but there's also this:

830  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Union Bank - Sinimulan na ang Bitcoin at Ethereum Trading on: November 07, 2022, 05:47:36 PM
Di ko nabasa itong news na ito, are they hosting trade using a private site for trial lang ba muna or sa apps na nila ito ginagawa?

baka itong sa UB e same lang den ng sa Paymaya.
Since may nakalagay din na custody doon sa article, I think it's safe to say na mag lalabas sila ng wallet features [e.g. send/recieve].
831  Other / Meta / Re: Do we care why people were banned? on: November 07, 2022, 04:36:56 PM
Does anyone think that the reasons for banning should be made public and shown on every post they made?
~Snipped~
So if instead of just posting 1 malware link and getting banned for it, the person who compromised that account could go back through the older posts and change / add links to malware or whatever. Yes the reported posts are removed, but what about the ones made a while ago.
AFAIK, banned users don't have the ability to edit [and delete] any of their posts, so we can rule out the possibility of such cases from happening, but I wouldn't mind seeing the actual reasons behind each of the bans [preferably in the Mod/Deletion log].
832  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Problem with Blockchain.com on: November 07, 2022, 09:58:58 AM
Lost of father and home with few other troubles having bad impact on me as I have one Gmail account which is nearly 12 years old, and I have few folders which are having personal things from there I have few details and I check them every time I am having email from blockchain, and they are asking for authorization so with this I am trying with my few passwords, but these are not working even I never use any other password.
Now financial trouble is day by day increasing burden, so I was hoping to have anything positive but look like it's not going to help, just waste of time and some heck to myself.
Sorry for your loss and I don't want you to get your hopes up but as a last resort, perhaps Dave [aka "walletrecoveryservices.com" (it's a paid service that charges 20% of anything they recover)] might be able to brute force it for you [e.g. a similar case with just his wallet ID].
Note: Due to its popularity, scammers have created a bunch of phishing websites (always double-check the link)!
833  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Problem with Blockchain.com on: November 06, 2022, 06:03:52 PM
every time when I am giving email and password it's stock,
I'm confused! Yesterday you mentioned you no longer have access to "anything other than your email"... If that was an honest mistake and you still have your password, then make sure to also check it with a combination of uppercase letters [passwords are case-sensitive in Blockchain.com wallet]!
834  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: HAI Crypto Pay on: November 05, 2022, 05:22:36 PM
I would really like to ask you if you were ready to become my partner for the implementation of this project?
~Snipped~
can't implement it without programmers and a partner.
You might want to mention what you'd be offering to your partner and what you'd be requiring from them!

The idea is that you connect your wallets to the app (once we make sure it's secure)
That's easier said than done [unfortunately].

Your assets are converted from crypto to dollar which must be very fast and without commission.
I don't think I can name a single platform [off the top of my head] that offers an auto-conversion feature and doesn't ask for anything... Having said that, you might be able to pull it off "if" you have a huge reserve on the other end while also keeping/hodling everything else!

The application is designed to reduce your time of money submission from the exchange to the card. Now everything will be fast!
I might be missing something, but how does inserting a few steps into any process, reduces the time?
835  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Pulsuhan niyo naman ito: Boracay, binabalak na gawing Crypto-Island on: November 05, 2022, 01:44:51 PM
Tsaka marami din silang kailangan need implement sa boracay incase they want to proceed with this kind of adoptation of the bitcoin like mga QRs pero tingin ko medyo malayo pa to mangyare
Actually, matagal na nilang sinimulan yan and "here's a short video".

836  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: November 05, 2022, 10:37:48 AM

837  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: COINSOURCE BTC MACHINE ARE SCAM FRAUD DO NOT USE PROOF screens on: November 05, 2022, 09:00:34 AM
I am not able to access the site. I don't know if my IP address is the one that is blocked

The error that I keep getting is "403 Forbidden"
I believe it's because of your IP address [I also couldn't access it normally, so I used a VPN connection instead]... If you don't have access to one, you can refer to one of the following archived pages [it's the only place I've seen them respond]:

838  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: COINSOURCE BTC MACHINE ARE SCAM FRAUD DO NOT USE PROOF screens on: November 04, 2022, 05:22:32 PM
support keeps saying theres a delay in transactions DUE TO high volumes YEAH RIGHT
They did mention that the high volume is in connection with their own total network and that's a clear indication that they don't have enough Bitcoin at their disposal; hence the huge backlog... I just noticed that one-third of users who "filed a complaint on this platform", successfully got their Bitcoin [worth a try]!

researched some people are getting delayed months
You should've done this prior to using their awful services, but regardless of that, I hope the above link could have a positive impact on your case.
839  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How do you use blockchain explorers? on: November 04, 2022, 02:35:30 PM
It is a very first research to collect opinions and experience. Now researching opportunities for products related or based on explorer capabilities
In addition to the survey in question, you might want to also check the "comments" column [and some of the posts] from the following thread: List of useful Bitcoin block explorers
- Despite having subjective ratings, it'd be nice to see another explorer (if there'll be any) that could compete with the top 5 on that list.
840  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-11-01] Grocery retailer Pick n Pay start accepting cryptocurrency payments on: November 04, 2022, 11:42:52 AM
To those who might be interested, here's "an article about a user that recently paid with lightning at Centurion Mall" and here's a "complete list of stores" that offers such a thing [for now].

The supermarket chain allegedly started experimenting with Bitcoin payments five years ago in Cape Town but was stymied by expensive costs and long transaction wait times.
Based on the above quote and "this video", their little experiment didn't succeed in the past, but I'm glad they didn't give up [unlike certain global brands]!
