901  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Buy with Bitcoin and USDT.We provide a large number of mobile phone numbers on: October 17, 2022, 09:51:01 AM
@100sim
You mentioned previously we could also rent an exclusive number for a certain period of time, but I had no luck finding such a thing on your website and even your FAQ area contradicts that claim!
- You might want to remove that part from OP if it no longer exists.
902  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Meron ba na Banko na tumatanggap ng Bitcoin bilang collateral sa isang loan? on: October 16, 2022, 04:51:43 PM
Isa pa ang volatility ng Bitcoin, kapag ginamit ito as collateral malulugi lang ang mga bangko and that's why Bitcoin will never be used as a collateral
May point ka, pero sa tingin ko hindi imposible na tangapin ng mga banko ang Bitcoin bilang collateral dahil pwede pa naman sila umasa sa mga third-party payment processors na nag ooffer ng automatic conversions.
903  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] luty.io - Fiat to Bitcoin On-Ramp - No KYC <1000 EUR - Low Fees on: October 15, 2022, 07:56:52 PM
We will try to provide as much information as possible.
Do you mind explaining the reason behind including "Trustpilot and Stripe" as your partner [e.g. Trustpilot partners and Stripe partners]?
- Using someone else's services, doesn't equate to having a partnership with them!

Our team works within the card processing industry, and many have been around Bitcoin since 2013.
It'd be nice to "see" who's behind luty!

What about license question?
Based on the following highlighted part, I don't think they have any:

  • Anyone Can Operate A Site Like Luty.io
We have demonstrated that anyone can operate a fiat to bitcoin on-ramp; they only need a website and a merchant account. No permission was asked nor granted in the production of luty.io .
904  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-06-28] Bitcoin mining revenue mirrors 2021 lows, right before BTC breached on: October 15, 2022, 02:07:55 PM
CZ of Binance has recently created a $500 million fund to provide loans for distressed bitcoin miners. This appears to be very similar to a bail out.
It does look like a bailout, but if the situation doesn't improve "significantly" in favor of miners [within the next 18 to 24 months], then they'll be in a deeper hole while CZ and other providers continuously get the most out of the situation!
905  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BTC mining farm - Argentina - We are looking for investors on: October 15, 2022, 12:23:50 PM
Our startup is registered in the USA although we operate from Argentina, this is to protect our investors and offer greater legal security in such a troubled world and more so in the cryptographic ecosystem.
I'm confused... How can your registration in the US, offer any kind of "real" protection to investors when the whole thing is taking place in Argentina?
- I'm not sure if I missed something but AFAIK, the regulations in there can't have a significant impact on your operations!

Our platform is for management and control only, the mined cryptocurrencies are not on our platform and users should not request withdrawals. Your monthly earnings are paid directly to your virtual wallet.
Are you implying that multiple platforms are in the equation?
- If the answer to this question is "YES", then you need to mention all of their names.
906  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Why not to buy inexpensive "exotic" open source hardware wallets? on: October 14, 2022, 06:02:47 PM
2. There are manufacturers who replace defective wallets only if you send them the defective wallet first.
~Snipped~
- What happens if you discovered it is defective AFTER you set it up with your seed, and cannot wipe/reset it?
If you really have to send the defective HW back, just get a hammer and beat the crap out of it [e.g. like this or this] and as a finishing touch, use a microwave [be careful].
907  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Machine on: October 14, 2022, 04:03:17 PM
I just received a message from one member who told me that he placed an order and he didn't receive any reply from their support even after he contacted them several times.
Someone else had" a similar issue 8 months ago" and it seems that you have to contact them a few times on "Twitter [as opposed to their email]" to get their attention.
- It's worth noting that "they shipped to someone 8 months after he/she placed the order" and that perfectly shows what kind of company is behind its operations [SMH]!

I don't know if they turned out to be a scam or not, but I also sent them a message to ask what is happening, and I didn't receive any reply.
Personally, I don't trust them, but any update on this?

and if you can help contacting them than please post any information you have below.
- The Twitter handle of their product head is @PraneshDevaraju
- It seems that the company that's behind it [DOIDO Technologies Pvt Ltd] has moved its domain from "doido.in" to "doidotech.com":

908  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Lightning Swap App on: October 14, 2022, 01:23:24 PM
A very cool initiative from GetAlby. A browser extension that swaps altcoins to Sats on the lightning network.
I haven't tried it yet and even though it's a nice extension, I think it unnecessarily expands the attack surface.

What other cool new lighting apps are you seeing out there?
I'm not a regular user of any lightning app, but I just found a few [from "lightning network stores"] that might be interesting:
Note: I can't vouch [DYOR]!

  • Fountain - A podcast app that pays for various things.
  • Tweetoshi - Earn or pay Bitcoin on Twitter.
  • sMiles - Walk, shop and play games to earn Bitcoin.
909  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Colorado is accepting crypto for tax payments - 2 on: October 13, 2022, 07:21:28 AM
Quote
You'll now have to pay tax on your $8,000 gain for the 2023 tax year — solely from paying your taxes with appreciated crypto.
What if the exact opposite of this happens? Does it mean any losses can trigger a tax-deductible event or is this one of those one-way solutions that's only in favor of the government?

will you be willing to pay for your taxes in bitcoin knowing that you will be paying than your friend who is choosing the fiat option just because you want to support this initiative?
It heavily depends on the gain... I wouldn't mind paying with Bitcoin if the gain is little to nothing.
910  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Nootropicsnowph Accepting bitcoin on: October 13, 2022, 06:06:36 AM
911  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: PIN codes and Hardware Wallets on: October 12, 2022, 12:34:20 PM
Feel free to post your suggestions for new hardware wallets,
  • SecuX - If you enter the PIN incorrectly five times, it'll reset the device [refer to #8 and #10].
  • Ngrave - Ten wrong PIN codes results in the device wiping itself [source].

As far as I know only ledger is using multiple PIN's,
While I was reading the "Wallet and Device Issues [refer to #5]" section on SecuX, I discovered they also have such a thing in place.
912  Economy / Services / Re: EASY INVEST - deas and tips and help on: October 12, 2022, 09:17:38 AM
I would love some ideas and tips if you have any so I can improve the website.
Here are a few:

  • Get rid of the stock photos and replace them with real photos!
    • Do the same thing with all of the fake reviews [it doesn't take a genius to figure out those are fake]!
  • Provide an in-depth explanation with regard to your so-called "special program"!
    - This isn't the first time I'm seeing these two words together and on all of the previous occasions, none of them could provide valid proof for its existence.
913  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-06-17] Bitcoin mining becomes unprofitable as BTC price falls on: October 12, 2022, 08:05:20 AM
and remember there were also a lot of ETH ASICs out there too that are now shut down freeing even more power for SHA.
You're right, but I intentionally didn't include them because I wasn't sure if there was an easy way for them to sell and recoup some of the initial costs to fund their next mining operations.

@SFR10. I disagree, Ethereum miners might not take the risk of selling their hardware to buy Bitcoin miners and compete with Bitcoin miners. It would be less risky to mine other coins.
You have a point that it's "less risky to mine other coins", but I read a few articles yesterday that mentioned it's no longer that profitable [e.g. this and this].
914  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Why not to buy inexpensive "exotic" open source hardware wallets? on: October 12, 2022, 06:48:45 AM
For example, if you guys were choosing a new wallet now, and came to a shop where all open source hardware wallets are represented, would you purchase an inexpensive convenient beautiful "exotic" wallet? Or would you purchase one of the same wallets you used to consider, like Trezor/Coldcard/Bitbox02 ? Why?
If I were to choose a new HW now, it wouldn't be the former... I did that mistake in the past and had an unpleasant experience that led me to go back after a certain time to purchase one of the latter HWs [refer to this post].
- If money is an issue, then it's always best not to spend or rather waste the little money someone has for a product that might not always work in the way that it intended to (I'm not implying that all of them have issues, but I prefer to go with a reliable brand to save myself from potentially getting headaches in the future)!
915  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-06-17] Bitcoin mining becomes unprofitable as BTC price falls on: October 11, 2022, 04:25:17 PM
but i hear the news that bitcoin hash rate keep to touching new ATH day by day you can see the news here
https://cointelegraph.com/news/not-a-minor-adjustment-bitcoin-mining-difficulty-soars-13-5-to-new-ath

it seems the miner from eth move to bitcoin
https://s3.cointelegraph.com/uploads/2022-10/5be89178-ee48-42ce-9175-f29a64649007.png
In addition to @bbc.reporter's comment, there's an indirect link in the above article that points to a "tweet" that claims most of the new hash rates are coming from Bitmain's Antminer S19 XP, but I have a feeling that it could also be in connection to a select few companies that were supposed to receive the intel's second-gen mining chips in Q3 of 2022.

  • How can Ethereum miners move and mine Bitcoin? The mining algorithms are not the same!
Perhaps @dansus021 was referring to those GPU miners that recently sold their rigs or rather GPUs and replaced them with SHA-256 ASIC miners [personally, I think they might be responsible for only a small percentage of what we're seeing at the moment].
916  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Is Ethspro.com a SCAM? Unable to withdraw USDT on: October 10, 2022, 07:08:57 PM
Any ideas on the next steps?
In addition to what you've already done, you can also try using the following platforms [don't get your hopes up]:

Unfortunately, "this" isn't the only "fake" website that uses that template/theme:
- In order to see a similar layout to the one you posted, replace the "www" part with "h5" (for HTTPS links) and add "m." in front of the last link (HTTP)!

917  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: "Yelp" for Bitcoin miner hosting businesses on: October 10, 2022, 03:49:53 PM
I built a listing & review service for Bitcoin miner hosting companies in North America.
~Snipped~
Any feedback on this approach is welcome.
I like the idea, but not its execution! I just did a test review on "this provider [please remove it]" and nothing stopped it from appearing right away on their page [until there's a proper verification system in place (easier said than done), everyone should take all of those reviews with a grain of salt].
918  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BTCapsule- a Bitcoin Time Capsule- is now Open Source on: October 10, 2022, 10:53:23 AM
BTCapsule is a Bitcoin Time Capsule for your private keys. Enter a year and your private keys, and when the year arrives, your private keys will be available to whoever you give the program to. This is perfect for inheritance of Bitcoin, very easy to use, and allows you full access to your Bitcoin.
Good project, but the only way for me to use something like this, is to give a certain type of hint [as opposed to entering my private key] that could "only" mean something to a specific person, and judging by the screenshots on your website, looks like it can be used for such a thing.
919  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: List of useful Bitcoin block explorers on: October 10, 2022, 06:53:26 AM
Many thanks, I've added them to my list.  Smiley
I just checked and it looks like there's Taproot support on "Yogh".
- While I was doing the above thing, I noticed the one beneath it [Blockexplorer.one] seems to have added support for such addresses as well, but not sure when it was added exactly.

With regard to "Spiral", I sent a small amount to my Taproot address and it also showed the result with roughly 10-minutes of delay after the confirmation.
920  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My quick advice to my fellow newbies on: October 09, 2022, 08:20:23 PM
Newbies has no much knowledge about how things works and hence should stay away from any sort of trading, or before investing or trading any crypto, you most have enough information concerning them.
You have a point, but there are certain safe platforms out there that apart from educating newcomers on this particular field, also gives them some play/fake money to practice trading based on the actual market behavior [I do know some might argue that it's not going to be the same when they use their own money and I agree, but it's still better than nothing].
