361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is a hardware wallet really worth it? on: September 08, 2021, 11:10:29 AM
Hello all, I've been thinking of buying a hardware wallet to store my Bitcoin in (ColdCard), but I'm not sure if it's really worth it.

This is an interesting question, than surprisingly doesn't come up as often as it should or doesn't get the attention it deserves.

Quote
First of all, what are the advantages of using a hardware wallet, and is it really worth it?
I know security is one of them, but other than that, is there anything else?

Yes, security is the main advantage to using a hardware wallet. Beside that there is not much added benefit, though even with the funds stored in a hardware you're not going to be secure proof as you could still (by mistake or unknowingly) share the key and then be done for.

Or worse forget the recovery phrase, or never writing it down. As you can see, some probably see more risks than benefits but that depends on personal preference and choice.

As for ColdCards, I haven't used one - my preferred choice is the Ledger Nano S (it enables alts storing also which I like).
362  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why newbies lose huge money in trading on: September 07, 2021, 09:42:49 PM
It is clear that at the first time when an investor begins trading, there are some hurdles in trading because it is a new thing, and they don't have prior experience of trading. Also, they don't have tolerance, and they totally depend on feelings. They can't bear to lose, and can't wait for the price of coin to go up. So they sell coin at low price. Therefore, the newbies lose huge amount of money in trading.
Here we can see experience is also an important thing in trading,
when beginners lose big enough money for the first time, of course, we use this as evaluation material for the future so that they will not repeat the same mistakes
Yes, experience is important but to me what seems to be the main reason fro coming out with a loss is the impatience.

People enter markets with the mentality that they can make easy money because so and so did it, but of course, it doesn't work that way at all.

So not taking the time to understand the markets leads people to sell at bad times, because they don't have enough patience or exit strategies in place and go with the flow instead.
363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What type of tokens you are holding in your wallet ? on: September 07, 2021, 07:58:29 PM
There is no need to ask anymore for this question, we all know most people using:
- USDT
- BSUD
- UDSC
Agreed. Most people in stables have these forms, and given the fight with USDT not having 1:1 UDS collateral for the issued USDT some also prefer USDT less. While holding stables, people also earn of course, which you can do to get a decent APY without being fully exposed to the market volatility.

This is the best way to get something in return for being in the crypto world where uncertainties are everywhere.
364  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying $30 in Bitcoin on Tuesday! For El Salvador and for Bitcoin on: September 07, 2021, 05:59:43 PM
This is a very bad idea - the market is already bullish, so trying to pump Bitcoin even higher for a short term spike will only lead to more volatility, and earlier than expected to the next crash (which will scare away people in El Salvador and elsewhere, maybe even other governments!).

Much better would be: Buy Bitcoin for 30$ in the next dip for solidarity with El Salvador!

Spoke too soon. The flash crash seems to have already occurred just over 2h ago. Could it be that the perpetrators did this on purpose to show the world that legal tender of BTC is a bad idea???

Who knows right, but the FUD seems to have happened, but of course, we still don't know if we're out of the red zone or not. All I know is that this was the fastest dump I have ever seen... and it is times like this that reminds all of us how brutal dumps can be.

365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Next Country to accept bitcoins is legal tender? on: September 07, 2021, 01:05:38 PM
Next Country to accept bitcoins is legal tender will be   BLANK?   Serbia.

I guess that the next coutnry to accept Bitcoin as a legal tender will be a country from Latin America,Asia or Africa.
Agreed, while it may be hard to speculate which country will make crypto, and particularly, BTC legal tender next, countries from the underdeveloped regions will have more of a reason (and probably find it easier) to get this going.

Perhaps, it will be a matter of months to see how El Salvador will do as a test but I can see this legalisation extending over time. Not sure which country exactly will be next but it will be an interesting turn.
366  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 7th September 2021 Bitcoin becomes legal tender first in history on: September 06, 2021, 09:35:38 PM
Bitcoin is on the way to becoming an official legal tender by the government, even though there have been so many obstacles along the part the El Salvador government will on the 7th of September accept bitcoin as a legal currency within the country, can we say we are in for another long runoff for Bitcoin market.
Hurray!!! This is positive news and at a time when the market is already in a good position, I wonder how much of an impact it may have. We already saw it reach 52K and right now making another attempt.

In good timing for this legal tender on Bitcoin... We shall see how the rest of the world reacts to this news and what it will mean for the world of crypto

OMG!!!

When you think things can't get better, Listen to this. There's 77 ETH Jackpot waiting to be cracked by a lucky winner on Dice and Roulette.

That's a whooping $304,076. What a prize to be won!!! Get your gaming boots on because this is serious.

368  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The more popular Bitcoin is, the more valuable it is? on: September 06, 2021, 06:56:43 PM
Popularity is one of the essential things for Bitcoin like it is the same for all of the other coins also. The more the popularity it has, the more the price will be in short. But of course, it will not affect only the price. Bitcoin adoption will be able to reach a much better level also.
Well, in a way, yes, popularity means higher value but what @Pulsar77 is saying about adoption is even more important.

Adoption is what everyone needs, because this provides more utility and in effect leading to higher value. Regulatory settlement from main countries is also necessary in order to see BTC value reach incredible milestones.

Though, I imagine these things to fall into place with time! For such a disruptive technology, crypto is still in its early stages.
369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Assumptions Is True in Crypto? on: September 06, 2021, 05:00:30 PM
Some of the People & Mostly traders assume the price of Crypto according to their experiences and knowledge. I want to know is Assumptions is working on this Space?

Like Recently I See this

I wouldn't say so much assumptions but educated guesses based on market behaviour and investors sentiment.

And coming back to the underlying question, can ADA reach $5? I think if given enough time (see I can't yet specify a time but instead speculate on its future value) then I think it's likely.

The market seems to be in a good place right now and who knows where the Alonzo update will take it right? We'll see but when it comes to large coins like this - they usually tend to perform well over time, given that the market enables it to.
370  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Give me some investment advice on: September 06, 2021, 08:48:07 AM
Do NOT trade futures until you've learnt how to trade or are getting a positive return over 30-60 trades.

Then, I'd invest all in bitcoin. If you really want to, you could put 5-20% in an altcoin but you're probably going to want something that's got a lot of hype behind it at least (or is a big cap and isn't likely to disappear). I'd also convert an altcoin back to bitcoin if it goes over a certain amount as it will probably fall back down to there at some point anyway.

Also don't take financial advise from random people on a forum, make sure you're making educated decisions and you're in the market with an amount you'll be OK dropping 80% in value at some point.
Before this I was an investor and not a trader.

But I think I need to allocate a certain amount of funds for trading.I am not that kind of super trader, I don't have tens of millions of funds. So I am worried that I will not profit from the btc trading.

As you said, 5%-20% of the funds used to buy altcoin is a good choice.
If you're not a trader and looking to invest as some point you still need to make the decision of staying in or getting out - much like a trader. Because you're starting with 2K already, best you level up on some trading skills, and definitely not future trading for you.

Similar to previous comments, to minimise active trading and to profit long-term best to spread most of your allocated money for investment over BTC because it will surely give you a nice return in the future, and you can't be as confident about alts.
371  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will its price start being stabilized? on: September 05, 2021, 07:59:32 PM
I hope it never stabilizes in a good way of the word meaning. I say so because when the Bitcoin price will stabilize then the people will not be as curious and as interested as they are about Bitcoin right now when Bitcoin price is characterized by a lot of volatility.
We had stabilization, now it's time for pumping. BTC is doing great now and it may just be bullrun 2.0. Now we have random coins pumping 100% in a day, if this is no sign of green, I'm not sure what is.

With so much optimism in the market is hard not to be thinking about the future prosperity BTC can bring on individual levels. So, everyone let's enjoy the moment while it lasts...
372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Metaverse x Gambling on: September 05, 2021, 10:46:43 AM
Who else thinks that these kind of thing may hit mainstream sooner or later? I don't know if this is something new but seen a  news from Decentral Games that they are launching a play-to-earn Metaverse poker. Others predict next to NFTs boom that it could the the Metaverse hype. Any thoughts?

The question asked is extremely relevant as today we see so many new projects launching with the promise of a Metaverse.

If done well, unfortunately, the way I see it, unless there's some hard structural changes, or partnerships in place, casinos may feel a hit hard.

Of course, this may take some time to be disrupting an industry that has been so solid for many decades, and it is just my speculative opinion...
373  Economy / Speculation / Re: What make people panic sell? on: September 05, 2021, 10:21:24 AM
These panic sellers are probably aiming for a short-term gain

Panic sellers are new people in the market that do not have a long-term goal but are in for the experience, and testing the markets.

You can't blame them for this mentality, you need to have been in the game for a while or you need to have done extensive analysis to become confident in your market position rather than acting based on what everyone else does. Though, this is a matter of time, practice and patience.
374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador rolls out 200 Bitcoin ATMs in a bid to speed-up nationwide adoption on: September 03, 2021, 09:39:40 PM
El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele confirmed in a tweet that the nation will be roll out about 200 ATMs and prepare 50 bank branches across the nation to allow residents to exchange crypto for fiat easily.

Some few facts

Quote
  • With El Salvador’s Bitcoin adoption bill coming into effect on Sept. 7, Bukele said those not interested in using BTC would be able to exchange the BTC they receive for cash at any of those locations. He also reiterated that the U.S. dollar will continue to be in circulation.
  • El Salvador has also created Chivo, its own state-backed crypto wallet that would be compatible with the new ATMs and would be interoperable with any existing crypto wallet
  • “What if someone doesn’t want to use Bitcoin?” Bukele said. “Don’t download [Chivo] and continue living your normal life. Nobody is going to take your dollars […] Someone can always queue up at Western Union and pay a commission.”

Bukele, also said that adopting Bitcoin will save Salvadorans $400 million per year in fees for receiving remittances from abroad

What do you guys think about such a move by El Salvador?

Personally, I have mixed emotions when it comes to the part of a state-backed crypto wallet but a side from that, I think in general, it's a good thing for the citizens and Bitcoin adoption alike. This is a little a break from the news of other different nations banning trading and mining of cryptocurrencies and discouraging citizens from using them.

2. https://forkast.news/headlines/el-salvador-bitcoin-atms-nationwide/

Woohaa!!! That's a nice market candle boost.

Really good to see El Salvador pushing though with their statement in being the first country to democratise/legalise digital currency and embrace BTC.
The fact that they're really going for it with ATMS should hopefully lead other countries to think harder about why they shouldn't jump in, and if that happens a new crypto wave will take place - let's hope for the best.

375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BNB smart chain transfer help on: September 03, 2021, 09:12:48 PM
I transferred BNB Smart Chain through a company, and clicked BNB erc20. The money never made it to the company I sent the money to. My question is did I just lose my money? Or is there a way to recover the funds? I contacted the company, and they said they never got the funds so they can't help me.

I have used this site: https://www.[Suspicious link removed]s/academy.binance.com/en/articles/how-to-recover-crypto-transferred-to-the-wrong-network-on-binance.amp

and a few others. I think I found the private key, but only got $9 dollars, and some odd cents, but I transferred about $400.

Only the holder of the wallet where you sent the BNB private keys can help out in this situation but something is missing in your explanation which I expect others to have to ask you to get to the bottom of this issue.

First, don't give your wallet private or seeds to anybody.
1) Is the company a legit company?
2) What is their name?
3) Where is the transaction tx ID
4) What is the wallet address is given to you by the company as a payment address?
Well, all of the above are simple yet elemental questions when dealing with TXes. If in doubt always check the blockchain to see if the transaction was successful or not.

If successful is a matter of associating the payment with senders i.e your address. I'm aware the latter doesn't apply here but it's good to know for future reference. Usually mistakes like this happen a lot when transferring with memo and no memo was included.
376  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Right now should I wait to buy ? on: September 03, 2021, 04:30:19 PM
Yes wait. Nowadays price is increasing. Before invest check the price every time. If price down then invest and hold long time. Bitcoin price is any time to high the price. So wait some time. It change your future. But you Know the price information.
Waiting sometimes may lead to potential loss.

You have to think, how long are you going to wait and what are your 'OK' entry points. I'm sure by now since posting you realise that waiting might not have been the best decision then.

But that's coming from an outlooked perspective, perhaps you're not ready or whatever reason if you don't feel confident then don't enter a game you are likely to not understand. It's always a double-edged sword.
377  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MrBeast now teaming with Coinbase to give away $100,000 in Bitcoin on Twitter! on: September 02, 2021, 09:29:14 PM
If I read it correctly, the only eligible to this giveaway is, those residents of US, canada and UK based on the coinbase's terms.
Yup, because the give away comes from Coinbase they must put restrictions, most likely the same ones as for the exchange. Interesting though that Coinbase is going for such a wide range cover I would have thought they are pretty well know. I suppose it doesn't hurt bringing in more fame + users  Cheesy

Anyway, partnering mrbeast with a twitter follow giveaway is really effective in terms to increase followers.
MrBeast can bring in the numbers, and as I type this I wondered how much will he get, any ideas???
378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Polkadot about to rise? on: September 02, 2021, 09:11:50 PM
TBH, we already had the bullish rally on polkadot like solana did recently.
There's some truth to that but it feels like the market is picking up steam again, and so it is likely that the rally for DOT and SOL could still go.

We see ADA going so others could pop off again.

With BTC being the way it is, these things can be quite unpredictable but for sure we'll see some gains in these chain tokens.
379  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading skills on: September 02, 2021, 08:30:54 PM
Do not trade with high capital, be patient, study the market, use what you can lose and not affect you, only focus on spot trading for time being, $50 is good for starting, if you have high capital, do it use it, hold more and trade less with $50 or lower. You will understand the marker from your losses and win, but beginners lose more than win, only increase your capital if and only if you are profiting than losing.
On board with the above suggestions. The main point to extract from a trader point of view is the practice because only with practice you tend to get a feel of the markets and how/when to perform a trade. News and having access to good, reliable info is another big one.

Unfortunately, there aren't any agreed places for getting this type of info but there are groups on Telegram where some news can he handy. One such group is called Alts Alters. Good luck trading.
