61  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My newbie trading experience on: December 02, 2021, 03:25:42 PM
Sometime early January 2021 I started my trading journey without anyone putting me through, I study the market movement of a particular token and analyze its weekly price volatility.
I started trading with $200 and within a month I made $450 including my capital. Since then I suffered a loss and have recovered but need trading knowledge that will take me to the next level with high profits.

What you've done and are now experiencing is normal. It takes a few losses to learn how to learn how to make profit and that profit only comes with hard work, dedication and market tracking.

I'm glad that you're at a stage where you're seeking wisdom from the community but there is not much we can say other than track, track and track the markets, then invest with knowledge and confidence.

If you haven't got the confidence then don't go all in...

Trading is about the journey, and making sure that over time you pick up that knowledge which nobody  can give to you, you must acquire it for yourself
62  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is this exchange legit? on: December 01, 2021, 10:49:34 PM
Bitcoin Fam, I've gotten myself into a bit of a situation and I need the wisdom of the community to help me out.

For reasons too long and convoluted to get into, I have a sizeable sum of money deposited on this exchange: https://a16zcryptos.xyz/

Is this exchange legit?

It appears as though it's associated with the company https://a16z.com/ which is definitely legit. Same branding etc. However I'm struggling to verify the link between the two entities. I have approached the company a16z on facebook, twitter, email and asked them if this exchange is associated with them, or if it's a scam exchange but I have received no response.

The reason I asked is that the exchange has disabled my withdrawals and the customer service person is demanding KYC information for some regulatory bullshit. However they're also demanding an additional 'deposit' equivalent to 20% of my account value before they can enable deposits again. Naturally I was immediately sketched out by this and now think the whole exchange might be a scam.

Can anyone please confirm?
Mate, you're in a pickle here. Honestly, I don't know if it is legit as I try to keep to exchanges that are well known and have a reputation to maintain, because if things go south you can at least manage it differently.

The best you can do at this point is run some background investigations to see who owns the domain, when it was built and check if it lines up.
From the looks of it, with a domain registered this year, doesn't seem that legit to me.

63  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to stop making mistakes by fear??? on: December 01, 2021, 08:57:02 PM
I want to know how to make stupid trading mistakes by fear.
I'm sure you meant to add NOT somewhere in there...

Anyway, the only way to understand what's going on and not let your emotions get the better of you is to learn, watch and practice! Yup, no one said it will be easy but this is practically the pain each trader goes when they start off.

It will be a bumpy journey but just make sure it gets less bumpy along the way, because with time you'll be able to understand the markets and position yourself accordingly. Don't expect it to happen overnight though - gotta be patient and be practicing
64  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🐋BETS.IO Casino🐋 Cashout in 10 Minutes | 6 Coins Supported & More Comming on: December 01, 2021, 07:51:44 PM
Welcome to the Bitcointalk forum.
We are always happy to see our community expanding...Thanks for being part of it, and trying to bring value to it

Can you please tell as what advantages Bets.io have compared to other casinos?
I see new websites showing up every week in forum, but I need something really special to register and use something new.
I'm afraid as blunt as the above Q may sound, it is actually true. There is no point in designing something if there's no strategy to onboard new people, bonuses, referrals, promo codes are all bundles everyone will jump on if they look attractive enough, otherwise nobody will even blink at the sight of a new casino
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gas prices with ETH will i ever get my money back? on: December 01, 2021, 03:30:59 PM
so its been a month and i want to pull my 50$ out of my trust wallet but clearly thats not happening with the Network fees unless i spend another 50 bucks?!!?? is there hope to get my money back one day?
Sure there is but nobody said it will be easy.

You just need to wait and keep an eye on the Ethereum gas fees, you can do so here https://ethgasstation.info/ until is low enough for you to withdraw.

As you can imagine it it one of those things you either try or leave it be. With gas fees through the roof ETH is dropping in popularity as you can imagine nobody is a fan of paying hundreds in fees for transaction values smaller than that...
66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Microstrategy Buy more Bitcoin on: December 01, 2021, 02:20:27 PM
The whales are taking advantage of the Bitcoin market and are buying the dip and Microstrategy one of the Bitcoin whales buys more than $414•4 million worth of bitcoin in addition to its present Bitcoin holding.
But here they are, once again bought a lot of bitcoins and as usual, they're taking advantage of every dip. While the other companies are still thinking if they should do, Microstrategy is just doing its thing.
Taking advantage of the dip is something most financially adept should think about. Why not buy something at a discount when you know it will only go higher from here- assuming a long-term position?

Microstrategy, is up there calculating risks and leaping over them - perhaps something investors with smaller pockets should consider doing...

In any case, it is interesting how millions are dropped, it kinda makes you wonder why not buy your 1k worth of BTC now
67  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Diversifying Your Portfolio in Crypto on: November 30, 2021, 11:59:12 PM
True. Diversification is a strategy and like all strategies these have to be moulded to each individual. There is not point buying anything you see just for the sake of being spread in shit markets. Wise choosing still applies.

Some people understand the word 'diversification' by exposing themselves not only to traditional markets in stocks and shares but also in the suit of strong projects in the crypto space. This is true diversification - or at least the way I see it Grin

68  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK.COM |Deposit 777 play with 1777 mBTC |Live Casino, Slots, Betting on: November 30, 2021, 08:38:38 PM
That’s prolly it.  I’m pretty sure there will always be people out there trying to game the promos by creating multiple accounts.  It comes with the territory so you can’t really blame the sites for asking for ID.
Website can turned out to be scam even if it's asking you for KYC, and I am not blaming Fortunejack but they should know the difference between someone who is abusing their system and inactive users.
The danger for running into scam websites is everywhere. Some can argue that when it comes to gambling this is more prevalent, which in turn forces legit websites and casinos run KYC on their customers.

There is this as well as regulations to comply with local laws. In the end, those who really want to abuse the system still have their workarounds even when there is KYC in place, with multi accounts being the prime strategy. Bottom line, there are measures but there are leeways too.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tron could be next doge or ada? on: November 30, 2021, 06:40:38 PM
TRON is a coin that has good movements, this year it has gone up more than 300%, but I believe if the market improves then TRON can reach $1 soon, and this is what made me buy and hold TRON for the long term.
TRON is a good coin but has done so little in the latest bull run. The thing is that not many projects are building on TRON and while DOGE is little to no providing any utility ADA is catching up quickly. Of the three, ADA has most potential because even today the interest of building on it is still peaking.
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Get harassed in BSC Chain Transaction on: November 30, 2021, 05:35:23 PM
BSC is undergoing an upgrade today, that's part of the reason why it's so god damn slow. But overall, fees and congestion have been increasing on the chain for months now, since it has seen rampant adoption among traders and projects.

But it's still a far better situation than Ethereum. Ethereum still suffers from $30+ transactions ($100+ on some protocols) and has a more than 10 minute confirmation time for most medium fee txs.

If you really want fast, check out Avalanche, Terra, or Solana, they're not yet experiencing the same slowdown BSC is being hit with.
71  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you spoken to Satoshi ? on: November 29, 2021, 11:59:35 PM
I’m just kind of curious how many people around here have been around long enough to have spoken to Satoshi, and what your experience was like. I am just fascinated about the whole thing. It’s beyond amazing Satoshi is still anonymous, so it makes me wonder what he was like when speaking with them. I’m guessing not too many people here were around for those days. This is one thing I’ve always wanted to hear Theymos talk about. Imagine having helped Satoshi build bitcoin, having private messages etc…what an experience!
Yeah, mate nobody but a fool  or those who want that negative fame like Craig Wright would step forward to admit that they spoke to Satoshi knowingly.

There is no way that guy or group of guys spent their early days on here just for the sake of conversation. Satoshi seems like the type of person/s that is driven and seeking to share knowledge rather than a person/s chatting on places like this.

The way I see it, despite the question being intriguing, from a realistic standpoint there is no point in even discussing such topic, but hey everyone loves to voice their opinion...
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this a hidden gem? ($12million market cap) on: November 29, 2021, 11:26:15 PM
I've had my eye on this coin called Vidya.

Here's what i've learnt about it so far.

It’s small cap gaming with Defi and web3 integration.

The first game is scheduled to be released in Q1 2022 called 'Aimbots', it looks awesome! It's and old school shooter with a futuristic design.

The team (Team3d_official on twitter) has been building this for the last 18 months pretty low key. They have a few investors lined up waiting for the working beta release.

There's always an element of risk, but with a market cap of less than $12 million there's still plenty of upside in my opinion.

I've done my research and think a hold until march wouldn't be a bad shout.

As usual, DYOR before buying.

I used Uniswap to buy the coins.

I'd also like to know your guys thoughts on this!
Hmm, very suspicious indeed how only newbie accounts are saying how good and pumpy the coin is.

Yes, for sure, it does have a relatively low marketcap of 14M but I'm not even sure how this happened considering it's social number of barely around 5K, and little marketing it despite it's launch in late Aug 2021

For sure, anyone reading this don't fall for this sort of crap, DYOR, the fact that it has something coming in Q1 is already a red flag - like what's the team doing to maintain the price? Shilling in forums such as this?
73  Economy / Gambling / Re: BitcoinArena.net - a new bitcoin casino review website on: November 29, 2021, 09:39:40 PM
Hey Guys.

We have launched a new (small, for now) review website. Our goal is to provide fair reviews of largest crypto casinos.  Best Bitcoin casinos (in our opinion) are allready listed.

If you are a player, feel free to share your feedback

Hi Robert,

May I ask, what's the reason for creating such a review website, disseminate knowledge or a way to make money? It is always interesting to hear the answer to this as depending on this the answers you would get can be targeted.

If the purpose is to derive monetary value then you'd be told to fix up on UI, and that you might need to come up with a strategic plan to stay ahead of the competition. There are already a few place that do these reviews, some better than others. Anyway, I hope you get the picture
74  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jack Dorsey far less decentralized exchange (tbDEX) on: November 29, 2021, 05:36:14 PM
When I read the news that Twitter CEO has been planning to build a decentralized bitcoin exchange, I was thinking it would be like those that utilized trustless service. The white paper for the decentralized exchange (tbDEX) was released on the 19th of this month, yesterday. The far more decentralized bitcoin exchange known is Bisq while thinking tbDEX will be the second, but when I glanced through the white paper yesterday, it was completely otherwise.

On the fourth page of the white paper is verifiable credentials, which means anyone or any organization that will make use of the exchange service will have to go through verification and most likely identity verification. Which means the credential verification will consists of name, address, photo, identity cards like drivers license, nation ID card and international passport, or more.

Users that want to make use of tbDEX service would be able to connect their noncustododial wallet after passing KYC and be able to exchange one coin for the other with bitcoin, but only after KYC credentials have been submitted by users before they can be able to make use of the service. I do not see this other than what was proposed some months back in US, for US citizens that is making use of an exchange (centralized exchanges) to register their noncustododial wallet address.

Although, the advantage is that many people can use this means to exchange bitcoin to another altcoin, or exchange altcoin to bitcoin. And just after exchanging, the coin will be on trader's noncustodial wallet address on blockchain which still means, it is still someones keys and it is still the person's coins, but no privacy. Anyone that wants privacy will never make use of this exchange (tbDEX) for his privacy aspect.

But while making use of this type of KYC DEX exchanges like tbDEX, aside that having privacy is not possible, also very likely and possible that coins can be seized during trading just like on instant exchanges.
Interesting insight... I wonder if this matter is what drove Jack Dorsey to resign from his CEO position???

For sure this is a matter that requires the minds of many to discuss and then agree...and given the subject of privacy it may well be that some people including Jack didn't sit right by those

Only moments ago, he became the former CEO of twitter. Source here: https://twitter.com/jack/status/1465347002426867720
75  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: shorting coin on: November 29, 2021, 04:08:32 PM
I don't know if there are many for it but coindcx might be an exchange to look at for that (not sure how trustworthy they are but I don't think they kyc anyone either).

There might be some decentralised exchanges too you could take a look at (also make sure they have enough liquidity).
It is really hard to find an exchange these days where no KYC is required, especially for people from restricted countries.

DEXs are a good place to start but then these have their own limitations with no enough liquidity, massive spread and what not.

So make sure you check these out first before setting up on any of these, and of course depending on which chains you're operating you have different DEX options. Like for BSC you got poocoin, pancake, etc while for AVAX chain you have pangolin and trader joe
76  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Is the bubble about to burst?" on: November 28, 2021, 04:42:19 PM
Honestly, I don't think we're near the end of the bull run. We haven't experienced a short term parabolic run yet, which usually precedes the end of the run, as was seen in 2017 and before in 2013/14.

Until we see Bitcoin's dominance drop to the low 30s or high 20s in terms of %, we're not approaching the end. That said, dominance is dropping slowly and we could be on the cusp of that run.

I give us several months of growth until we get rekt.
77  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Saw my 1st 'hybrid' Bitcoin ATM this morning. on: November 26, 2021, 08:29:32 PM
Was at a small shop in NYC. Rates were not great 5% on either side of the trade. But it was interesting. The ATM handles no cash. If you wanted to buy you spoke to the cashier, gave him cash and you got a receipt with a barcode that you went to the machine with the receipt scanned the barcode and then a QR code for your address and poof BTC in your wallet. To sell you went to the machine and send BTC to the address it gave you and it printed a receipt that you brought to the cashier. Who could then make a judgement call as to wait for a certain number of conformations or just hand you the cash.
That's interesting. Something good to know.

I suppose we're still a little away from cutting out the middle men but for an ATM with the idea to become adopted by the non-tech savvy people is still a good option. I hope the queue is not putting people off from transacting BTC. Though, I suppose we ought to respect the progress Grin
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the meme coin still worth holding on: November 26, 2021, 07:13:56 PM
Coin memes in my opinion are still a trend and are good for us to make investment opportunities, DOGE has been around for more than 9 years and exists until now, a newcomer Shiba Inu appears who is often trending in various media and makes many people invest in Shiba, I'm currently investing about 12 coin memes with a value of around $5000.
I beg to differ.
The way things are going now it looks like meme coins are going down in value and are becoming less and less valuable.

Memes era is at and end, and NFTs despite the ETH fees are still going up in adoption because of the PvP, and PvE element.
79  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Diversifying Your Portfolio in Crypto on: November 26, 2021, 05:44:10 PM
All you hear about these Trading and Investing rules that " Dont put all your eggs in one basket " or " Diversify your portfolio "

But how we Apply these rules in Crypto Market.

When Bitcoin moves 95% alts dumped. BTC moves up or down, Alts goes down. where we invest and no one can predict the market movement.

So what would be the right strategy of Diversifying Crypto Portfolio...

No one can tell you the right strategy, make your own instead. We have our own strategy Even we do the same strategy here, the ways and methods will be different. Give some tests. Risk some money and observe in the long run if you are making a good following on that test strategy.
Yes, exactly. Only when real money is at play and you living the experience you tend to learn much faster much quicker. Everyone is in a different situation, so it is best to devise strategies that fit around your situation, your needs.

Test strategies are the best before implementing any long term methods.Take your time, work out what works for you and stress-test before going in with large amounts.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin investment on: November 25, 2021, 10:37:21 PM
I have a few capital and I will like to know the proper token to venture in. Am unused to NFTs and will cherish to induce your supposition on which NFT to purchase for a brief term bas
With the little cash that you say you have, I'd suggest going got normal investing in some alts like ETH which has been constantly volatile, enough to make a few dollars here and there. The same goes for the top 10-20 coins too. NFTs will probably not be the best way to start simply because the fees are so damn high.

Only just suggesting - up to you but try to be smart when investing. Remember, most people have their own agendas, so pick and choose advice carefully.
