How many watts is your power supply?   I ran into something that sounds close on a recent build.  When i would put any load to one card it would go black if i went when giving its own power supply not sharing with other cards no black screen, and mining great.
It's 1500 watt thermaltake. I just realized that the issue is specific to the 7970. Even when it's the only card on the pc it won't boot. It works fine in my other pc though. I uninstalled all the video drivers, but still nothing on the video at all when its installed. Not even the bios show up.
362  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / 1x 7970 and 2x 7950 in 1 rig.. on: May 11, 2013, 06:12:17 AM
I've been running 2x 7950's in one rig and my 7970 in another rig because I have not been able to get them working together in one pc. I can't get the display on the pc to come up at all with three cards in it. I've had 3x5970's in the rig before and I know all my new cards work. Is there some driver issue on the new cards that prevents it? I had to upgrade to the new ati drivers to run my 7950's. Any advise on this would be great.

I want to run 1 bf single on a separate pool. I tried the "-S COM9" command, but it still starts all the units. I thought I had done it that way in the past. Is there still a way to do it?
364  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [8500 GH/s] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + UserDiff; ASIC tested on: May 09, 2013, 12:50:51 AM
So no one else is having cgminer reject shares from the proxy? All of my pc's keep doing it at randomly every couple days. I didn't have any issues before that DDOS issue with the pool a few weeks ago. The proxy reports that share was above target.. It doesn't effect all my pc's at once though, and if I restart cgminer on the effected pc it starts accepting shares again.
I have cgminer jumping from stratum.bitcoin.cz to stratum2.bitcoin.cz, stratum3.bitcoin.cz, api.bitcoin.cz and off the pool to a backup pool now for about 2 days... Before that there were missing shares. Now I'm not sure if this is related...

And since I don't see any posts from Slush I really don't see any reason to report since it took me a lot of posts explaining how I know that shares are missing and nothing changed since no one could look into that.

Sounds like something different. I wish mine would jump to the next pool. It just rejects shares and never switches to the backup pool.
365  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Downgraded my shipping?! on: May 08, 2013, 11:21:24 AM
Putting everything else a side. I would really like to know why some SC singles cost 10% more to ship express while others cost 20% more. I realize that 90-95% of the additional charge has nothing to do with actual shipping expenses being passed to the customer. I still don't see how shipping of identical products could very in price by hundreds of dollars...

"Price gouging is a pejorative term referring to a situation in which a seller prices goods or commodities much higher than is considered reasonable or fair." See BFL.

I know what it means.. $1000 to ship 4 singles is more then unreasonable. That's on top of what we paid the first time.. Acting like it's a hassle and there just doing it as a favor to us is just insulting. That's 20% of what they charged for the units themselves.

The past few weeks it seems like I always have a miner that is reporting all shares being rejected. Seems to only happen when I'm using slush's proxy. The proxy reports that share was above target.. Soon as I restart cgminer on the effected pc it goes away. I updated to the newest proxy and my miners are just using windows. Anyone know what can cause this?
Blame the proxy? There are no reports like this for anyone pool mining directly.

I tried that approach, I thought you guys may have some more insight. The only issue I have when mining directly is random freeze ups.

370  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [WOW JUST WOW] BFL customer service terms on: May 06, 2013, 08:45:16 AM
You'll find those are the unwritten rules that apply to every customer service dept everywhere.

Its true, Ive run several ISP's in my time and also acted as level 3 tech support.
Remember back when everyone was on dialup and you could only stay connected if enough lines were free ? Thats when I got started.

Anyway, if you rang up one of my level 1s or me and was extremely rude (ie yelling and swearing about disconnections) over the phone Id quietly add you to my "shitlist". My shitlist was part of my home made auto disconnection script, it would always ensure your account was booted at the earliest possibility when the modem banks were full and if you were a real shit you went to the 2nd shit list in which Id trigger the cisco to randomly hang up your modem and log false line errors for your connection Tongue

I can just picture Josh doing a "pressed ham" on every bitchy customers invoice slip, be warned.

They should be hiring a much larger customer support team, maybe someone who can organize the support and sales dept better. After all, we are not talking about 20 dollars dial up accounts. They could hire up a team easily. Currently they are talking like they can't even cost effectively upgrade orders to express shipping. It's just a hassle for them apparently, and they don't even even want to do it. There charging a extra 10-20% per order just to manually approve the shipping change. That's millions of dollars of pure profit, aside from the paying a few hours of labor costs and 15 dollars extra for ship it.
371  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Downgraded my shipping?! on: May 04, 2013, 07:41:50 PM
If you paid prior to February for shipping, you didn't pay for express shipping.  All shipping was called express shipping prior to that, which is what the USPS calls it.  Express shipping is now and upgrade from standard shipping, which is still USPS's Express Shipping.

Don't blame me because the USPS calls their regular shipping "express shipping."

Express is not exclusive to usps. It's a actual term. Obviously you guys know that, why else would you change it at the last minute? You could at least charge a reasonable price, these are price gouging rates. After delays, no customer support, missing specs and shipping orders out of position. You could at least do right by the customers this time... It's doesn't help offering a second shipping option anyway. It's just a last minute way to rake in more profits. And no one wants to go through usps anyway, they have the worst service of anyone.

Ok, Why do my receipts from when I ordered last year say express shipping on them if I don't have express shipping?

Now that you mentioned it, I went through all my previous orders, and I never did receive email invoices for any of my orders.

 Hrmph.

My orders are definitely in my BFL Customer account, and I recall seeing an invoice in the web browser after using BitPay, but nothing was ever emailed out best I can tell.

Only thing I can find in my email search is this email form response once my order was processed. No formal email invoice from either Bit-Pay or Butterfly Labs for any of my orders.

Thank you for placing your BitForce Single SC order.

This is confirmation that your order was successfully placed in our system.

If you've chosen an instant payment method and have completed that transaction, then your order is confirmed.  If you've chosen a payment method that requires additional information such as a bank wire transfer instructions, please stand by for an email from customer service within the next business day.

Kind regards,

Customer service team

BF Labs Inc.

You just login to the site and use your order number to view the receipt. I have them printed out, they all say express shipping. If you login and look now though, they have all been switch to standard shipping. There asking for $610 dollars to ship just one of my packages, that's on top of what I gave them for express shipping the first time.
373  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Downgraded my shipping?! on: May 04, 2013, 06:40:41 AM
Don't post lies, BS or be a dick and you get helpful answers.  Pretty simple cause and effect.

Ok, Why do my receipts from when I ordered last year say express shipping on them if I don't have express shipping? Why would I need to pay a additional 3k just to have a handful of boxes shipped a few hundred miles? Are we only talking about express shipping through usps? There one of the worst ways to ship packages. Unless the new singles are the size of a average car, I don't know what's going on here.

So now that we have waited a year, they want us to pay for something we already have a receipt for. A extra 120 per unit on top of what we paid the first time is a lot of dough. You can bet it's not next day air either. They told me they were using UPS but it looks like the post office to me. Every time I turn around Butterfly makes some morally, or legally questionable decision. Shipping Jalapenos and Paypal customers out of order position. Now it's pay a extra 10% and you can keep your 3 days shipping or your waiting another week. I can't even image what's coming next from this scandal of a operation. They would never get away with this if they had a actual customer support team.

Customer support team.....why not go straight to the tp and ask the CTO these questions I am sure he will answer and satify all your concerns by 3 simple words

"SUCK IT ARSSHOLE"

or

"Fuck Off Loser"

or

"Shutup you Cocksucker"

...it goes on and on.....  Cry

Please jesus when will this insanity end

Exactly. I'm starting to worry they will start mining coins themselves. All these unethical decisions they make, it would not be much of a leap. Every decisions seems to be based on whether it will bring in money. I can't even image another company doing the kind of crap they pull.

Have they even said where to mail the fpga's yet? I waited 3 weeks to get a reply about what the address is, all they gave me was a link to their forums. Worthless customer support.

The past week I can't stay connected. cgminer is not switching to backup pools either, its all rejected shares the first time. Today it crashed cgminer on all 11 of my pc's. It just showed the program stopped responding message. I just gone done redirecting them to slush's pool a couple hours ago to see if things were working again. Guess not.. I was very impressed before, I had no issues since switching to stratum except for the past 10 days or so.

Can bfgminer run on a windows 8 tablet?
No idea on this. Does it run normal Windows software?

I'm not sure what the limitations are on the windows tablets. It looks the same, but I've heard its not. It seems like it would work, if the drivers for the singles supported it. I was hoping someone around here had tried it.

Can bfgminer run on a windows 8 tablet? Also, should any of nicer android tablets work with the BF units?

I've had a lot people ask about my Avalon. What do you guys think a Batch 3 is worth right now in $?
