Maybe that is placebo effect. After you take the drug, you can image the ETC to go to the moon. But that might not be true. plus 12% in the last 24 hours is huge dont you think ? Any news on the two ethereums? Or just another pump and dump session? Or have people woken up? |

Yes we spoke of this earlier. It is good news. All the ETC will end up in the hands of those that want them. An attempt for the EF to save face? Of course the Dao holders are predominately Foundation supporters and will sell to try and crash the price. But they tried that many times before and we are still here. If the price goes to next-to-nothing we will continue to hash. Therefore: we still have value if only as disruption technology. Then we will be free from the hold of the foundation just in time for our new phone wallets. (mixers/tumblers too maybe?) The link reads.... From reading around it seems the plan is return these ETC to their rightful owners - the original DAO holders. There are 7m of these in total (so you might expect this account to further increase from 4.1m in the near future).

If they are in fact returned - yes you might expect a fair proportion of the full 7 million total WHG ETC to be sold.
Dont confuse these 7m with the other 4.5m that the other hacker/exploiter has. These will be released early next month and you can imagine that he/she might be quite keen to sell these somehow too. Could be tricky putting them on exchange though or selling OTC. Only safe way to get value from these might be to do a deal with WHG to return them to DAO holders for bounty or something? You have to remember also that both Russia and Great Britain are trying to start crypro economies. It will not be long (here in UK) before i will be able to pay my Electricity Bill in crypto. When this happens more services will follow, Internet for instance. Therefore exchanges will become irrelevant because we will be earning and spending in crypto.

Not having a leader means no one can put pressure on them to bail out others. Remember, Bitcoin has an anonymous / fictional leader, Satoshi. In my eyes, that's why it works. We have something Ethereum hasn't got. Autonomy. Perhaps the irony here is that .... ETC became a DAO. You mean a "Dac" Decentralised Autonomous Currency? Hay, some people like to worship at the feet of Devs. I prefer them to be employees of the coin personally, but hay-ho, it takes all sorts. Moreove, Ethereum don't have enough momentum to escape the gravity of what they have done. They are still under 20mBTC one month after the fork. I have faith though that if ETH ever fucks up again in the future which no doubt they will you'll see a huge spike in ETC when users/business flock.
Of course, ETH-fork solves nothing.  If the wrong code (DAO), why repair computer (ETH)? I see no reason to invest in ETH-fork. ETH-fork coming again. Is ETC not enough to overcome the difficulties caused by ETH already? What is the ETA for the new fork? So, do we have 3 chains then? There's another ETH-fork? Got a link for it? Go look at Ethereum roadmap! Lets remember, nothing went wrong with the way Ethereum / Ethereum Classic work. The tech is good The error is in the way slockit wrote it's smart contracts. Thanks to the Dao hacker, we now know how not to write smart contracts. If Eth Devs hadn't invested so heavily in the Dao they could have let it fail and have kept the integraty of the coin. They had a conflict of interests. I saw it and got out at 24mBTC just before the attack Instead they bailed their friends and themselves and are no better than the banksters and kleptocrats that run the global Gulag economy. Anyhow, ETH has another 4 forks planed. Good luck on the cloning program. |

 kinda wishing I sold all my coins instead of just half. Gonna need an upward bounce soon or ppl like me are gonna dump to at least make something. Don't expect anything miraculous until mid September when you may see some real action. @IncludeBeer I see you mine/use Burst. I am about to start playing around with Burst once I have sorted all my HHDs. We are looking into a hybrid algo for ECT. Maybe PoW via GPU / PoC via HHD and PoS.We are looking into a system where the HHD mining can also facilitate cloud storage for smart phone dapps. I have much longterm hope for this efficent and green way of mining. I will be on the Burst thread next week for assistance in setting up my Burstmining. |
