81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH is sick again on: September 26, 2016, 09:47:06 PM
It's the newness wearing off. geth works fine when you reboot. You just can't turn you back on it. nanopool need to pay somone to sit and watch it all day (and night). Who said tech destroyed menial work? Ethereum could save the job market.
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Multi currency wallet? on: September 26, 2016, 08:31:45 PM
https://www.exodus.io/

A desktop wallet for Bitcoin, Litecoin, Monero, Dash, Doge, Ethereum.... and more coins to come.
It has built in shapeshift so you can move your assets from one coin to another all in the same wallet.
Plus, you get to control the keys.

83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: September 26, 2016, 08:11:18 PM

so nothing was sold ? does poloniex allow coins from this address (or received from this address) to sell btw ?

KYC regulations mean that Poloniex would have to freeze the funds. The hacker would need to move some to a different address and maybe shapeshift a small amount each time.  A big exchange is high risk for them, so i expect them to drip out if at all.

@Carlo, thanks for the update.  Wink  any info on DAG bloat?

Nanopool is growing, up 5% on the day to almost 20% now.
I put 40MH/s on http://www.91pool.com/# just to support our Chinese friends and to see if its for real.

91pool
Pool fee: 1.5%,
the smallest unit of payment: 1 ETC
Mining mode: PPLNS

Pay Hours: Daily between 12:00 - 13:00 for previous days mining (0:00:00 - 23:59:59)

I have to wait until tomorrow to see if the payments are good but the mining there is very stable.

However people, we also need to be mindful and support our smaller pools. https://etcchain.com/pool

I will have a play with this new Muli-currency mobile wallet (Coinomi) tomorrow if i can borrow a phone from somone.
(It will not run on my NOKIA 5110)
http://www.razor-forex.com/2016/09/multi-coin-hd-wallet-coinomi-adds.html
No Desktop version?

@Longsnowsm any chance on some feedback on the Ledger Nano S Cryptocurrency hardware wallet with using it for ETC?
https://www.ledgerwallet.com/products/12-ledger-nano-s Has it arrived?
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: September 26, 2016, 05:08:36 PM
Would be really great to see some actually updates here, talk about how things are progressing, instead of this place just looking like a ETC Fan Club.

I bought a ton at 210 (i was the one that started the pump up to 220 by buying up and taking out the wall at 210.)  So i very rarely make bad moves, but this is starting to feel like one.  I will hold for x10 from here, where i think ETC will go in a year or so.

Would just like a little more info/updates/news.  Smiley

Hi MrWhite,

I've been posting weekly development reports here to keep everyone up to date on what's going on but we are also going to be putting together a structure for a weekly newsletter that features more than just dev news. Also, try checking out the Ethereum Classic reddit ( https://www.reddit.com/r/EthereumClassic ) or the Ethereum Classic slack ( https://ethereumclassic.slack.com ) for more info on what's going on with the community. I'm working hard and hodling as well lol.

Cheers
Carlo

Hi Carlo, will check out the slack, many thanks for the info, very much appreciated.

EDIT: I need an invite to slack, but slack is annoying as you have to make a new password each time, im already in 5 slack chats. I will keep my eyes here and on twitter.

Buy support just dropped under 1,000 bitcoin...  who ever is painting this chart is making it crystal clear 180k range is in sight.

I used to post a "shout out" with all the latest info on evey couple of pages but, for some reason the moderators didn't like them and took down all 45 posts that had gone up over an 8 weeks period in one hit. I know it is not bitpop.
I don't like redditttt because it is riged. And the NSA and US presidential candidates post there. You have to remember, people that own these forums have their own agenda when it comes to cryptocurrency and politics,... as do we all.

However, like yourself i am involved in many coins, Burst, Monero, ETC chain, Groestlcoin, feathercoin, Litecoin, Bitcoin, (plus all the merged coins that come with the latter two)...  too many slacks to manage as well as wallets and miners. No good! And there are always new ones comming in and failed ones going out.
Lol, i mined Brexitcoin for a couple of days then it vanished. That had a PoS/PoW hybrid scrypt algo. Based in India i believe. It was a good attempt but they got their maths a bit wrong.   Cheesy  Or just a scam for some scrypt hashpower, or maybe just a project pilot. But i didn't join their slack, Never a dull moment in cryptoland.  Cheesy

But Yes, there are only so many slacks one can manage.
At least i can follow all my coins on bitcointalk.  Wink

Edit: i see what you mean about Market Depth. But you have to remember Ethereum is a toxic brand thanks to the Ethereum Foundation.
ETC still carries that brandname so it will suffer when Ethereum suffers.  How far do you think i would get running for Prime Minister of UK if i was called Paula Blair?  But i do believe it has been aggreed by the community that it will be changed "somewhere down the line"

That is a fair synopsys roselee.

Anyone having problems with https://etcchain.com/ ?

I can no longer search for my address or see the pool pie chart and now most of the content is in Chinese. They pulled any traces of 91pool.

Maybe i stumbled on somthing that was not yet ready to go public with the http://www.91pool.com and the Alibaba.com connection?

It would make sence for Alibaba.com to have their own currency.  But the reason they don't use bitcoin at the mo (although many have tried to force their hand) is no ESCROW and too much price fluctuation.

Can Ethereum Classic, (ETC Chain, 5th Element, Aether or whatever we are being called now) solve those problems for Alibaba.com, (AliExpress.com,  Alibaba Group, Taobao Marketplace, Tmall.com, Juhuasuan, AliExpress, 1688.com, Alimama, Alitrip
Alibaba Cloud Computing, YunOS, AliTelecom, HiChina, Autonavi, UCWeb, Umeng, Xiami, TTPod, DianDianChong, DingTalk, Alipay...
or whatever they are called ATM.)  Wink

Edit: https://etcchain.com/pool  Wink its there lol
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: September 25, 2016, 09:55:40 PM
It is true, we do need to be established in China.  China has 2/3 of the world population. ETC needs to have 2/3 of it's hashrate and investment in China if it is to be as established as bitcoin. Moreover, they produce all the GPUs, phones and US army boots  Smiley and will dominate before too long.  They are even building Nuclear powers stations in the UK and drilling for oil in the North Sea.

I enjoy and agree with almost every post you make. That is why I think I am in right place Smiley

I am glad you are happy here. Many feel like us but not all want to be vocal.

Someone that starts to solo mine, gets complacent and ignores the signs will find that solo mining falling through the floor at some point.

Be very careful where you point your hash power. It is a valuable commodity
You should always be setup to have the option to solo if need be. I have had some nice runs solo but tend to hedge with some pool mining too.
If you can, and you have more than one miner, have a spread over a number of pools and do a bit of solo too.
It would be nice if a developer made a miner that would do 50% hashpower to geth and 50% to a pool.
Problem is, who do you believe when it comes to finding info on pools, solo and the network?
http://etherx.com/pools/ or https://etcchain.com/pool

91pool are new, or have they only just declared themselves?
I looked them up because 51pool.org was the pool that tried to 51% attack Ethereum Classic early on.
http://etherx.com/pools/ always shown more than 40% "unknown". Now we know who some of that "unknown" are!

“91pool.com was registered on hichina zhicheng technology ltd. on 03 August 2016. The site is almost absent on social networks.”

Well up until know anyhow

“The site is hosted in United States by Alibaba.com LLC while its owners are located in China. The webmasters of the website can be contacted at yuming@yinsibaohu.aliyun.com . The domain for the website was purchased through hichina zhicheng technology ltd. on 03 August 2016 (1 month ago) and will expire in 2 years 10 months.”

Ref: http://websitepart.com/www/91pool.com

So we have the big Chinese market Alibaba.com mining (or hosting?) themselves some Ethereum Classic?
But why host a Chinese mining pool for a Chinese audience in the US?
They are mates of our ex Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne. This has lifted my mood.
Maybe Alibaba are mining ETC and will drop the dollar (and the banksters) for ETC on their trading platform?
http://www.alibaba.com/
Glad I looked it up. I was going to sell a load of ETC.

This is big?  http://www.alibaba.com/?

They have shown interest before.

88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about DOGE? on: September 25, 2016, 05:05:38 PM
What do I think about DOGE? I like it because it has a dog on it. The British are big animal lovers. I would support a coin with a cat on if there was one because i prefer cats over dogs. But as long as the coin is not teamed up with the banking sector and as long as it can be mined... it's good by me.

I wonder if it is Mr Doge's dog?  Anyway, he knew people would buy it because of the dog, that's why he put it on the logo. Smart move. Roll on "CATE COIN" meow  Wink

is etc slacks down ?
I cannot get in slack either.  Maybe its a private club now!

As for making friends with Ethereum.  Some of us are foot solderers of the revolution. If your not prepared to take casualties you shouldn't be in the fight. We don't take kindly to self appointed  leaders barking orders of retreat and reconciliation. I'm not gonna be sold out by some Jonny come lately who wants to cosy up to the banking establishment. You are either with us or against us.

Maybe we have a firth columnist in our firth element?
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: RBS tests demonstrate ability of Ethereum to support a national payment system on: September 25, 2016, 12:55:13 AM
RBS and Ethereum are welcome to each other.

I remember when crypto stood for everything the banking sector didn't? But then Ethereum don't have a blockchain do they.  It's just a data base that can be changed by the despots with a mouse click.

Good luck to them.  Heres to Ethereum getting in bed with the banks, governments, and big evil corps. They are well suited. I'll drink to that.

Microsoft will be sponsoring the ETC Meet Up in London Sept 23rd with special guest Charles Hoskinson. @IOHK_Charles

https://www.meetup.com/EthereumClassic/

Did anyone get a video link?  None seem to work

So what happend at the meetup, Or did it not go down too well?

BTW...  As i see it, Ethereum betrayed the concept of crypto. They broke the social contract. If Ethereum succeed, crypto will have failed. They do not have a blockchain, they have a database. They welshed on the deal and cannot be trusted.

They are also guilty of hacking.  Yes the dao was hacked too but two wrongs don't make a right.

They are a corrupt corporate entity in cahoots with the banks. They will meet their fate soon enough as will the banks. Negative interest rates are on their way.

This is a paradigm shift, a global insurrection against banker occupation. A financial war... and they chose the side of the financial terrorists (the banks). They are despotic kleptocrats.

That said, i have mined eth and will mine it again if etc are on a downward trend and eth are on an upward one.
But i will sell my eth for etc at the end of each day of mining.

Lets see how it plays out hay?

I did not type "--oppose-dao-fork" for fun.  I meant it. And they gave me that choice. They made their bed. Now they can lie in it.

ETC pools shrinking http://etherx.com/pools/

"Unknown" has grown from 43% to 54% in 24hours. Hashrate is 542.96 GH/s
Lot's of people solo mining?

epool.io no longer listed on the chart. perhaps some are missing?

So who do you believe http://etherx.com/pools/ or https://etcchain.com/pool ?

I seem to be hitting more uncles than blocks.  Moreover, Eth uncles were worth 4.375 before the fork while Etc only pay 3.75 for uncles  Sad

And still no working video from last night,  double Sad

From what i understand nanopool is about 15% of the network and all the pools together only account for about half the network.
With difficulty this low i think many are solo mining.
I was using this tool to monitor but it stoped working  http://etherx.com/pools/

edit, i just added up % and it comes to around 80% so only 20% solo?

I am not disagreeing with your suggestion to solo mine, only pointing out the fact that people need to observe and watch what happens and be ready to change to meet the environment.

I'm watching the ETC hashrate climb, looks like ethereum have problems again. their hashrate is ~2700GH/s (down from ~5TH/s)
I will get back in a pool at around ~750GH/s currently at 550GH/s (up 100GH/s on the hour) http://fork.ethstats.net/

https://etcchain.com/pool is a good tool for watching the pools

Hi Greenuser. Thank you so much for keeping everyone here up to date on what is going on in the community. I've been a bit busy today setting up some data and such. Pretty crazy day of news lol.  Shocked
