Whoa!
Hawk only holds first place for 1 hour 40 minutes before jassem snatches it.
Actually Aggrophobia snatched it. Nope only 470M, Haribo can you write the real difficulty of the hashes behind them, i want to see if i had won with several >10G-shares I'm confused. Aren't we all looking at the lowest number in the Work column here: https://bitminter.com/blocksNo - if I'm understanding correctly, we're looking at the hash of the block, and competing for the lowest hash. Click on the block number under the "height" column, then there's a link to click to blockchain.info and you can see the hash. (BTW, DrHaribo, the label for the link says "block explorer," but the link goes to blockchain.info.)

THERE was a time when I stood a better chance but with 33gh not much. Better chance than me - great fun, anyway.

Depends what kind of coke What is this supposed to mean? That something of the likes of Coke Zero or Diet Coke is good for you? Diet coke and coke zero is worse off, they put some artificial sugar in it... I'll take mine with cane sugar, please!

I'm in! I just wish I was in with more hashing power.

Ladies and gentlemen, we are breaking the 200 TH/s barrier.
Congrats Haribo! 3 days later you're up another 10%, to 220 TH/s.

Spoetnik shut up. Hes behind cryptocoinexplorer. I'm going to agree with that. You are being a real jerk to one of the most helpful persons in the cryptocoin community. It sounds like you don't even know the distinction between his site and the others you are talking about - so how would you know someone paid him to list a coin? (Not that there'd be anything wrong with that if they did.)

The fork IS a vote. You can vote with your hashrate when the time comes.
Totally agree.

At the time it was written, Bitcoin Scrypt topics were not allowed Why not? This was October 3 of this year.

I stumbled across this project on a Google search for something else: http://bitcoinscrypt.org/This doesn't seem like a good idea to me, as I've never agreed with the arguments that oppose ASICs and want to try to prevent it with Scrypt. I appreciate Scrypt coins for the diversity they provide, but I don't agree with the fundamental argument made. I also don't agree with the unsupported assertions that confirmation times are faster when blocks are faster, and I doubt they've got any math to back up that assertion. The real reason I'm posting is this: http://bitcoinscrypt.org/?p=91They claim they aren't allowed to mention their coin on "BTCTalk forum." Are they talking about this place? What's the real story here? Is it just that, like any other altcoin, they would have to keep the discussion in the alternative cryptocurrencies forum?

I'm still not happy at the prospect of a blockchain fork. To me that takes away from what Bytecoin is. I see several others have expressed similar feelings on other threads about the subject. But I guess if people don't put their hashing power where their mouth is, they don't get a say. I hold no ill will toward anyone who sees a different way forward. My preference would've been that you leave Bytecoin alone and create another "just like Bitcoin, but merge-mined" coin from the beginning instead.

Cost it does, and almost nobody donates to keep them up.
Cryptocoinexplorer.com is spread over 4 VPS now (3 For the production ABE explorers, 1 for CCE3 testing).
I am developing CCE3 to lower my costs by allowing me to have more explorers per server, but this does not reduce the cost of running the coin daemons needed for the explorer software to run.
Hopefully I will be able to carry most of the Alt coins when I release CCE3 and convert all the explorers to CCE3, but I am going to have to find a way to monetize the service. I cannot continue to pay in both time and money to provide the service to the community.
I look at some of the things people pay large sums of coin for in the alt-coin community, scams and junk. Yet services they use everyday (not just my explorer service) get virtually nothing in donations to keep running.
Why don't you place some banners instead of those useless donation addresses? I imagine most of his traffic expense is for the API, not for the browser interface.

Is this using the forked merge-mining Bytecoin, or the original?

I think its a nice idea if people could organise local events however bitcoins birthday is right after new years so people could already be partied out. It would be better to co-opt new years. Trying to get some video shoutouts for bitcoins birthday here: http://www.happybirthdaybitcoin.comWhat about a "three years till Bitcoin halving" day?

Am I off topic enough if I take the opportunity to say you rock simply for having Hoppe as your avatar?

I would love to know if cash withdrawals and deposits will be available again at some point.
Me as well, I still have a Fiat balance... I don't at this time, but I my Vircurex usage was much higher when fiat could be deposited and withdrawn.

Should the creator of Bitcoin come forward? It depends on what his goals are. If there were one person to answer questions and explain the benefits of using Bitcoin it might've caught on quicker. There's thousands of people to explain it now, and they can explain it just as well if not better.
