261  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [BitAffNet] How we're the #1 Bitcoin Mining Pool In The World (proof inside) on: February 16, 2015, 11:42:51 AM
join one of the many PPLNS pools and deal with the shitty luck runs where you only get 85% payouts go right ahead.
Don't forget the good luck runs where you get 200% payouts. Remember it all evens out to 100% in the end.

In theory, and over a long enough time frame sure, but the long term trend is rising difficulty so what you get now is more important than what you get later.

Is there an active pool with >=100% over it's lifetime, BTCGuild the only one I have handy is at 97% so it's pretty close considering orphans, their 3 month is 93.5 and 1 month 84.2 all of which are <101 or the previous 110 Smiley

262  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [BitAffNet] How we're the #1 Bitcoin Mining Pool In The World (proof inside) on: February 16, 2015, 10:17:33 AM
All the bitching, scamming, moaning etc is mainly coming from 1 person who from his very first post and most of the rest has jumped on every mention of BAN that can be found.

I've been around long enough to think I'm pretty good at spotting a scammer and IMHO s0br is not one.

Sure the pool has not been perfect and mistakes have been made, but the bottom line is I've always got paid. For a long period of time it was at 110% PPS so I've been paid way more than I would have got at any other pool, it's a strange scammer who gives away money to his miners and who frequently buys BTC out of his own pocket to compensate for downtime or buys hashpower from rental sites to help the pool solve blocks.

The only time I left the pool was when I hadn't received a payment for around 8 days, it wasn't because I thought I wasn't going to get paid it I knew I would, it was because I needed the BTC to pay my hosting bill so jumped on another PPS pool for a day where I got 5% less and much worse stats, my payment arrived not long after the switch and I moved back.

I can't say I blame s0br for staying away from this thread, if I was spending that much money I'd be rather pissed at all the moaning.

Bottom Line, for me it is the #1 mining pool, and all my machines will remain there.  But everyone has a choice if you want to mine elsewhere and get 5% less, or join one of the many PPLNS pools and deal with the shitty luck runs where you only get 85% payouts go right ahead.

You can build them in 30 minutes with a few bits of wood for less than it would cost to post something Smiley

After the frankly underwhelming performance of the 20nm chip, (and in retrospect the 28nm chip given how much better everyone else's are) I wouldn't invest $1 let alone millions in the 16nm.
265  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 2x KNC Neptune. [UK] on: February 05, 2015, 09:23:57 AM
All the SP30's have been sold.

Neptunes are still available, any more interest in them, international shipping wasn't as expensive as I feared so can ship worldwide

Current best offer is BTC7 + Shipping
266  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [lee group]340$ the sales promotion of hosted antminer S5(golden psu included) on: February 03, 2015, 09:37:34 AM
i think it is very difficult to get SPondoolies ship the miner to china, the shipment fee will be very expensive, also is it cheaper than s5?
I'd have a chat with spondoolies, the mini farms of 15x SP20's come with free shipping, and I'm sure they'll negotiate further discounts for larger quantities.
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: February 02, 2015, 10:48:15 PM
Is it time for Mini Titan Batch 2 customers to consider forming a class action lawsuit against KnCMiner? Batch 1 finished shipping last year. We are well beyond the advertised time frame for delivery of batch 2. Has KnCMiner engaged in deceptive advertising?

As i recall, that promise was part of the product details in the store. Therefore it's part of the contract.
I don't recall an advertisment of the +1 month outside the store? Was there, too? - that would cement the case.

There have been many breaches of contract, and I've no doubt that if you got to court you would win.

KNC however rely on the fact that it is very hard for most people to do this, so they will deny everything and hide behind un-enforceable contract terms to make it as difficult as possible and string the matter out.

Many people paid out $1500 to some swedish solicitor about 4 months ago and nothing has been heard since, the wheels of justice turn slow and they are very expensive.

UPS just informed me of an unexpected 15.5 kg package coming from Sweden. I wonder what it could be?

An Expensive free paperweight

Stay tuned.....  Still dont understand the price hike.

It's easy, when Bitcoin was rising up from $220 -> $300+ bitmain took the opportunity to increase the price of all their products on two occasions to line their own pockets

Then when Bitcoin fell from $300+ -> $220 they took the opportunity to leave the price the same, to line their pockets even more.

Someone mentioned this one to me, it actually made me laugh

http://www.minerking.com/

Sadly 100PH for $59 is out of stock Smiley

You can still buy

At least they are honest enough to show you will get $0 back
271  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] NiceHash.com - sell & buy hash rate cloud mining service / multipool on: February 02, 2015, 10:02:47 AM
your API is dead. since 3 hours..

... and it's been brilliant, you can actually place an order without the bots taking over

Please take your time fixing it, sometime in 2016 would be good Smiley
272  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: January 30, 2015, 07:21:33 PM
I have my pools configured to run westhash/nicehash when they go over 0.0199 per the password field, but it doesn't appear that they're switching.  Westhash is currently at 0.025 right now, is there something else that's required to get that to work properly?  I configured the pools and restarted the miner, but it still shows cgminer 4.7.0, and I think it needs to be running 4.8.0 for this to work, right?

I'm running the latest test firmware from SP, 2.6.9

I noticed that as well, machines on 2.6.1 switched over OK, machines on 2.6.9 didn't (both with cgminer 4.8.0 btw)
273  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: January 30, 2015, 06:32:55 PM
so whats the better deal now
sp 31 at 4500 TH or so pulling 2100 or so watts  price $2200
or 3 sp20 pulling 1.55 TH at 3000 watts for 1200 or so

tough call.  Then you throw in the mini farm which is 24TH at around 15000Watts for $5500 k
vs
5 sp 31 at 22.5 TH pulling a measly 10500 watts  far more efficient of course but twice the price Sad

someone run the numbers lol

My trusty spreadsheet has the answers....

Doesn't take account of the fact you may need to buy PSU's and available underclocking options.
274  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] NiceHash.com - sell & buy hash rate cloud mining service / multipool on: January 30, 2015, 01:53:17 PM
A quick look at the scrypt market on westhash shows 95 active orders, and what appears to be 1 person holding 75 of them (consecutive order numbers and/or all the same or very similar price)

There isn't anything that can be done about it though, any way you can think of to stop it is soon defeated, eg limit on number of orders just use multiple accounts. IP Limit, switching ip's is very easy.
275  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 4x Spondoolies SP30, 2x KNC Neptune. [UK] on: January 30, 2015, 12:43:09 PM
I have quite a few reasonable offers by PM for these but so far they have all come from abroad, as per my original post I would prefer to sell these in the UK

I will give it another day or two as international shipment wouldn't go out until monday anyway to see if there is any interest from here, if not then I will look at selling overseas, or make me an offer I can't refuse Smiley

Got some preliminary prices from UPS for shipping to the USA as that is where the bulk of the offers are from

SP30
UPS Express : $135.00 each
UPS Express Saver : $105.00 each

Neptune
UPS Express : $125.00 each
UPS Express Saver : $100.00 each

But not being able to change the pools myself is problematic.  I rent all my miners out on betarigs.  So that's a big negative for me.

Just to clarify, are we allowed three pools of our choice or are we limited to your three pools?

I have several machines that he hosts (not S5's but I presume they are the same), you can specify any 3 pools that you want.

The easiest way to manage rigs is to use MiningRigRentals instead of Betarigs, you set that as your first pool on the machines along with a couple of backups. From the MRR site you can then add up to 5 pools and add/swap/delete/re-order them to your hearts content.
277  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 4x Spondoolies SP30, 2x KNC Neptune. [UK] on: January 29, 2015, 04:47:52 PM
I have the original boxes for all the items, local pick up is fine I am in Lancashire.

I don't have a figure in mind for these as not seen any for sale in the UK recently, so just looking for offers to see what the market says.
278  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: 1155GH(+OverClock Potential), In Stock $0.25/GH & 0.51W/GH on: January 29, 2015, 03:18:06 PM
Dear Bitmain,

I understand you guys/gals are really really busy and it's probably just an oversight Tongue

When BTC started rising the price of the S4/S5 went up, when it continued to rise they both went up again.

Now that BTC has dropped back down to it's previous level, the prices have remained the same which makes your products much worse value than a week ago.

No need to thank me for alerting you to this, you are welcome

Tigggger
279  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] 2x KNC Neptune. [UK] on: January 29, 2015, 01:11:35 PM
As I now have lots of equipment hosted overseas I've decided to close down my UK mining operation, at the moment I'm undecided whether to ship these machines abroad to my host or just sell them so seeing if there is any interest.

4x Spondoolies SP30 SOLD

2x KNC Neptune
My original one

My bonus machine that arrived yesterday, still in the box

If you require PSU's I have some EVGA 1300's, my exising neptune has custom cables from Shakmods, the new machine comes with Y-Cables from KNC

I would prefer not to ship them abroad so offers from UK buyers will likely take priority

Payment can be made by Bitcoin, Bank Transfer or Cash.

You are welcome to come and view the machines working, I am in Lancashire, pay at the time and take them away.

Escrow is fine through either squall1066 or OgNasty both of whom I have used before and have excellent reputations on the forum.

Offer away Smiley
