Sooo you mean I'm the only one?? The site wasn't working from here, so I logged into a server we have at OVH France. The site is a lot more responsive from there. All that has happened is that you had them already in your basket from before they sold out as I do here. Unfortunately the main page still says sold out so they haven't yet added stock, and you may find when they do that you have paid more than you need to.

just fyi, my neptune refund came in today.
They'd be a lot quicker if only there was some means of transferring funds instantly for low cost, I dunno something like a crypto currency, someone should look at starting one could be revolutionary

They don't mention July the 1st in the newsletter: Over the next few months we are bringing online enough hashing power to make sure that any delay in the Neptune timeline will be compensated with a completely free hosted hashing packages to all fully paid customers. You need to read between the lines, the wording is carefully chosen. Look at the underlined part, as they only said Q1/Q2 delivery they won't be late until July 1st. and as far as messing up the network with difficulty..they are gonna do the same thing with the physical neptunes anyway.....you just expected them to stop after the neptunes shipped say if they were/are on time in what july 1st by the last batch
The problem isn't what they do AFTER the neptunes ship, it's that they are bringing online hashrate in advance of future sales, and that hashrate devalues existing and future purchases.

So, if I read the news correctly, I can either start receiving my 3 GH/s share from the data centre operations right away (as soon as it's officially operational), or to wait for the Neptune to get developed and have it hosted at the aforementioned data centre? Correct?
Sound like a good option to me. I have a rig hosted with them now, and it's been operational 24/7 since it went on-line. So I am happy with their handling of the hosting. When I bought Neptune, it was at the limit of my power and, not least, cooling abilities at home, so I was actually asking KnC if they would provide hosting for Neptunes. It seems they listened.
Currently, I don't see any downside...
I think you are reading it wrong. They are building the data centre shortly with their 28nm products. That data centre will be raise the difficulty dramatically and reduce your current income (and the future income of the neptune). Once it gets to July 1st, the first day they will be 'late' THEN you get access to your 3TH of hosted mining, BUT at that point it will probably be making 0.01 BTC per day and any chance of an ROI will be gone.

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
Just FYI those commands only need to be run once, the changes are permanent.

Could be worse. Your 24 hour earnings is just low. Mine is negative.
I thought you said you didn't mine in that PM to me yesterday when I asked you a question. Or is that why it's neg, beause you stopped ? I expect he means because the pool luck has been bad these last 24 hours, the people on PPS have swallowed the profit.

Well done, that is really nice

As someone else in this topic (at the begining) tells "stop the policy of preorder and using customers as bank to have founds", i will tell him "You are wise" i will follow tto, this line forever no more preorder with no asic manifacturer...
When they will be ready to ship in two days i will see if i will buy...
In this world, where the exact time vs. difficulty is the crucial key to se if an investment will make some profit, is not possible tu use a crowdfounding business model to produce new hardware.
Cheers.
I said almost the same thing over 4 months ago near the start of this thread, it has served me well since.... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=294197.msg3217642#msg3217642Pre-ordering any hardware has historically been a very bad decision, avalon batch #1 is the obvious exception, but that sort of return is never going to happen again.

Thanks. I know where it is. I measured the voltages on each pin as I wrote previously. I wanted to see a picture of how a normal 3 pin fan like Arctic F12 is plugged in there. I assume the white bit behind the pins will have to be cut off for the fan connector to fit.
The F12 PWM I used have a 4 pin connector. The only reason you need to push it on hard and bend the white bit is there are 2 raised edges along the edge of the connector, normally the white bit is only 3 pins wide and they fit on the outside (alternatively you could file the ridges down).
|
|
|
Can you please make a picture of the connector. Thank you.
I will next time I'm there Does the miner status page show the secondary fan's speed? Thanks.
No it reports it as 0

Guys, that empty fan header on the other board - is it a standard one? Can I plug a 3 pin fan into it?
It's a 4-pin, I put arctic f12 pwm fans on all of mine. The connector is slightly different but just push it on and the white bit bends out of the way.

Never heard of them, and my advice is to keep away.
The only place to buy KNC equipment is direct from them, as you saw they are currently sold out but some people are cancelling orders so they may make more units available at some point.

I have 2 stuck on the mumbai plane.
But PLEASE can people stop ringing UPS, they won't get here any quicker and the more phone calls they get the more suspicious they will become about these consignments

i find it a joke that these are still going to be used for PCI-e ports. they will be far too massive, and it makes no sense in comparison to just using USB and having them external like the previous gear
They don't look much bigger to me than the ATI reference design for the R9 two slot video cards are quite common. Yes erk, but that's the prototype, the real one will be at least twice the size, once the inevitable lower hashrate and higher power consumption are dealt with

Well if we are voting, I suggest selling all the hardware, share the proceeds out and finish this disaster once and for all.

Bitmain, Possibly being cheeky but if you don't ask you don't get Ordered 2 which are hashing away nicely, then you gave me 2 coupons so I ordered another couple which are on the way. If some more coupons appeared in my account I would definately order more from you before CNY

Please remove my order. Refunded. Fuck knc.
Removed. I'm not as confident as I was, but it's not about the specs or delivery schedule so much as I always knew about that and nothing has really changed. The main problem is that hashing power is required now not in x months. The decision not to release more jupiters has left no choice but to buy elsewhere, and whilst currently that hardware isn't good enough to cancel my order for, there could be something soon. It's made more difficult by having such an early order so currently just waiting it out, still plenty of time to make that decision. I'm curious why you went for a refund instead of trying to sell, would have thought you'd have got a nice premium for such an early one. better is to mark refunded orders to count them!
It may have been better to mark them refunded, but I've already deleted quite a few either through messages in the thread or by PM so it's no longer going to be accurate, and the main reason for the list is to track delivery schedule so will carry on removing them I think. Add my orders as the following:
Much jealous
