1041  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] a new coin based on Litecoin - CHNCoin on: May 01, 2013, 10:13:59 PM
I have pretty much everything configured to solo mine, now i'm at the last step : configuring the solomine bat file.

Could someone be so kind as to post good settings for an AMD 7950 ?
I have three of them installed.

I've only used GUIminer-scrypt before, I'll read the the manual later but righth now I just wanna copy paste something and have my three cards run solo Smiley

Anyone, please ? I'll send 500 CNC as a bounty if you can help me set it up.

I use this for my 7950's

Code:
cgminer.exe --scrypt -u CHNADDRESS -p x -o POOL -w 256 -v 1 -I 18 -g 1 --thread-concurrency 21712 --gpu-engine 1050 --gpu-memclock 1625 --gpu-vddc 1.087 --temp-target 75 --auto-fan

I'm back soloing

Please share any tips, as you seemed to do well with it. I tried for a couple of hours and got nothing at all Sad

blastbob, many thanks for your time and effort in putting the pool up, the new 8400 one is working well for me now Smiley
1044  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] a new coin based on Litecoin - CHNCoin on: May 01, 2013, 05:47:30 PM
The payouts on Bobs pool are weird indeed

I've been mining with 160kHs for 2 hours and I got ~180 CNCs in the first hour and almost nothing (2x 0.44 CNC) in the second hour.

Now with the higher difficulty I'm trying my luck with solo mining again.

Yep, that is the same experience as me, I got 2x 0.44 CNC for mining over a hour at Bob's pool with 1.5MH

My payments were 0.44 too, very weird, and they occured when I found the block from what I could see.

Now that's one CrazyNoobCoin. It's just to fast to be mined...

Code:
[2013-05-01 18:20:04] New block detected on network
 [2013-05-01 18:20:17] Found block for pool 0!
 [2013-05-01 18:20:18] Rejected c6a178a8 OCL 0  Diff 1/0
 [2013-05-01 18:20:19] Found block for pool 0!
.....
 [2013-05-01 18:23:15] Found block for pool 0!
 [2013-05-01 18:23:15] Rejected 7155f4e4 OCL 0  Diff 2/0

At least you knew right away, mine did something like this...

Code:
[2013-05-01 18:20:04] New block detected on network
 [2013-05-01 18:20:17] Found block for pool 0!
 [2013-05-01 18:20:19] Found block for pool 0!
 [2013-05-01 18:20:24] Found block for pool 0!
 [2013-05-01 18:20:27] Found block for pool 0!
 [2013-05-01 18:20:31] Found block for pool 0!
 [2013-05-01 18:20:31] Found block for pool 0!
 [2013-05-01 18:20:35] Found block for pool 0!

THEN it rejected them Smiley

The wallet is syncing slower than the blocks are being created lol, can you solo mine before the sync is done, almost every accepted share is an actual block and I've only got 0.4 for each of the 4 blocks I've found
1047  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which exchanger do you use to trade FTC [poll] on: April 30, 2013, 10:48:28 PM
I've used both.

Voted for BTER because it offers a straight FTC<->BTC conversion whereas Cryptonit requires FTC<->LTC<->BTC
1048  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [Pool] Coinotron - LTC pool RBPPS = 2% fee, only 15 confirmations !!! on: April 27, 2013, 03:56:37 PM
Seeing 5-8% rejected shares mining LTC with CGminer.

Is that normal?

No, it's not normal at all.  I've seen almost 10% rejected shares on some of my rigs in the last day while mining LTC on Coinotron though.

I just quit earlier for the same reason 10% rejects.

I think it's a combination of having to use a high intensity with scrypt and a share difficulty of '192' the number of shares per minute is very small so everytime a new block is found and those shares are rejected it makes it a huge percentage of the work total.

The pool I swapped to is using a share difficulty of 32, and it's averaging out at 3%

Mining BTC the intensity can be lowered, share diff is 1, and on guild and 50btc reject rate is ~0.01 %

I have a dual 5970 rig but 1 of the 4 GPU's is no good (GPU0)

I use -d 1 -d 2 -d 3 in my command line but when I start cgminer is seems to turn gpu0 on and off a couple of times before finally disabling it and during this cycling the system sometimes crashes.

Is there an alternative way to stop it being used ?
--remove-disabled

Thanks Smiley

The motherboard looks like it's resting on top of some aluminum (?) pegs. Did you make those or buy them?

My cheap solution was to use a bolt and two nuts for each leg.

Use the holes in the motherboard that are for case mounting, one nut below to rest on, one on top to tighten.

1052  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scammer] Nicksasa / notroll.in on: April 23, 2013, 10:30:14 PM
It's hard to know how much I lost without knowing my balance before the double payment period which was 14 hours for me as I was on stratum, but best guess is around 5 LTC mark.
1053  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptocoin Mining Information -- find the most profitable coin to mine! on: April 19, 2013, 04:09:52 PM
I believe the recent fork was made precisely because of that problem, so the swings should be much milder now. No idea of the exact details, though.

Looking at the stats on coinotron each block has a different difficulty, so averaging them out seems sensible to me.
1054  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NOTROLL.IN admin overnight withdrew 25% of our coins from our balances ! on: April 17, 2013, 10:16:12 PM
Why are you people still mining there!?!?!?

MORE people are mining there than before the theft, it's truly astounding.

Given the lack of response is it any wonder he's made no further posts, not put up the page he promised or made any effort to re-imburse anyone.
1055  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Open Question for Avalon Asics module backwards compatibility on: April 17, 2013, 05:42:48 PM
According to their website that is the intention

Quote
Future Proof

The Avalon’s components can be upgraded and swapped out as future parts are released, like a normal PC. You are not forced to switch entire systems

I just made the mining calculator parameters persistent, as long as you do not clear your cookies.

Thanks, works great Smiley
1057  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Cairnsmore2 - What would you like? on: April 13, 2013, 01:24:56 PM
I love the idea of something around the 5GH mark, if you retain a similar pricing structure (bulk discounts) and modular ability of the cairnsmore 1 then it allows people of all levels to get involved, and it's great you are in the UK

Needless to say this will all depend on the cost, but very interested.
1058  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASIC mining - would it worth to jump in? on: April 13, 2013, 01:15:30 PM
The problem with ordering BFL now, is if they ship, you will probably not receive your unit until the end of this year. Maybe longer. Maybe never. Assuming you did get it at the end of this year, the difficulty would be sky high. ROI could a year or two, or maybe even never.

Words of wisdom +1

The best option is to hope one of these new players brings a device to market, because even if it takes them 6 months that's likely to be quicker than a BFL ordered today.

A new supplier is also likely to price the device according to market conditions at the time (like avalon do) so taking a lot of guesswork out of the purchasing decision.

Wasn't too worried about the withdrawl problems, but my 29.5 LTC balance just dropped to 22.5, I'm out until an explanation is forthcoming.
1060  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GX Mining scam? on: April 08, 2013, 05:23:34 PM
Strange the scammer went to the expense of creating a UK Limited company.

Company Check, shows the name/address of the director and it comes up as genuine with a phone search.

Either incredibly stupid or more likely has used some innocent persons details so won't publish, but easy enough to find if you need to know.
