601  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] LeaseRig.net Rent & Hire SHA/SCRYPT/DARK/QUARK HashPower! on: April 10, 2014, 01:18:46 PM
I have a question about the reported hash speeds on LeaseRig.
...
Anyone else noticed anything or has any comments?

It's because you are using LeaseRigProxy.
That thing reports hashrates based on accepted shares. If the pool has a high share difficulty (512, 1024 or so on) your hashrate will be shown much lower than it should be.

Not strictly true, the hashrate from the proxy can be done that way but can also get the actual hashrate from cgminer via api, it's in the readme file.

The default api port is 4028 so if you havent changed it
Code:
leaserigproxy.exe <port> <userid> 4028

Been using the proxy since day 1 and speeds have always been accurate.

spoondoolies...  PLEASE try and just get stuff in stock....
We don't stock. We're implementing build to order production line.
We'll deliver the product on time and according to the specification published.

Why do you think 'build to order production line' is the best sales model?
Why does your company not want to make and then sell, is it lack of funding?

I can only echo what Xian01 said further up the thread, for me the days of pre-ordering are over.  Long gone are the days when it meant a nice return most of the time it's just a losing proposition.

Making decisions on something in stock like an Antminer is difficult enough, when you start to consider a lead time of 1,2,3,4 months it gets impossible.

You seem an excellent company that have a proven product, I'd have no hesitation in spending a lot of money but it either needs to be in stock or delivery within 1-2 weeks so I can make an informed decision.

Why not just disable/delete the cause IE Inaba's accounts ?

What makes you think that would stop anything?

Because if you delete his accounts there is nothing to leave feedback against so of course it would stop it, people following Josh's links would get....

Starting now and running until we start shipping the 28nm Monarch based products,

So we have another 6 months of this spamming to look forward too Smiley

Trust spam isn't allowed. If I see anyone posting dozens of fake trust ratings (from one account or many alt accounts), I will delete all of their ratings. But Inaba is hiring multiple people to create these ratings. It is impossible for me to determine whether these ratings are "real" or not, so I'm not going to delete them. (Obviously all negative ratings are very likely to be fake, but I'm not going to guess about this.)

Why not just disable/delete the cause IE Inaba's accounts ?

Unless you're VAT registered like a sensible person.

Be careful with the VAT in the UK, it's not as straightforward as just registering and claiming it back/not paying it and if you get it wrong the penalties are not pleasant.

To claim VAT back on outputs you need to be charging VAT on the inputs you can't just use one side.

So because the sale of bitcoins doesn't attact VAT then you are unable to claim it back on the purchase of the machine.

If you buy hardware to resell then you can claim the VAT back as you would charge it on the sale.

This was the advice given to me by my accountants after discussion with HMRC.

Not saying it's 100% correct as this is new territory but something to be wary of.

Hey are there problems with the NMC payouts.......

Look no-one expects you to read all 58 pages of this thread but at least read back 1 page where it was answered 3 times, and 4 times on the page before that, and 2 times on the page before that.....

<end rant mode>

The KNCcloud is just there to appease you when Neptune comes in late, then they will go back to using it for their own profit, why are you expecting anything customer centric when their focus has clearly changed from that lonnnnng ago?

KNC's new direction and orama's abscence, connected ?

Looks like scrypt asics are on the horizon, new section appeared on the website

https://www.kncminer.com/categories/litecoin-mining-hardware

In this catergory you will find our litecoin mining products. The devices are being designed and built by the same tream who brought you the first 28nm Bitcoin mining hardware.

Our products have progressed past the RTL stage of devlopement and will be launched for sale very soon.
613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: March 18, 2014, 05:42:38 PM
In 2 Weeks they are officialy in delay. according to their Network protection Statement, where they spelled to start shipping their nextgen devices in march 2014.

<snip loads of people excited about getting cloud hashing in 2 weeks>

Whilst that statement did say they would start shipping the new generation in march, it was made long before the neptune announcement.

The only promise made to neptune buyers at the time of purchase was Q1/Q2 delivery

If you get your machine before July 1st* they aren't late, so don't expect any cloud hashing before then.

*Some have noted that the second batch also promised Q1/Q2 and shipping a month after the customer batch, in which case the late date becomes June 1st which is still 2.5 months away.
614  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: March 17, 2014, 09:44:29 PM
I'm using a 450w psu I used a few years back. Thought it would do the job. But if it's my psu, why did it load the interface the first time for me to change the wan settings? I didn't enter my mining credentials yet.

Possibly because when you first turned it on it wasn't actually mining and hence not drawing much power, none of mine have ever hashed until I've changed the ntp, network settings and pools info.
615  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [V] Version - Rare Desirable NO PREMINE Store of Value -->> v0.8.9.9 FIX on: March 16, 2014, 01:43:36 PM
So all my coins went to stake right about the time this for happened.  They're no longer in the wallet and didn't come back when i re-opened for minting, are they gone for good?

If those coins were coming from blocks with height number higher than the one that we restarted ( a few hours after the incident happened ), then yes, they are lost, as they were never meant to be created in the manner they did.

No, my original coins which were mined at launch, are gone.

Edit: For clarity, i mined 19 blocks at launch.  This was the last one

Have the exact same issue,

Had 1,804 mined from pools well before the problems started. My balance is now showing 0 following the update.

All of them are still in my ledger

616  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: March 15, 2014, 09:26:47 PM
Hi
IS there an easy way to check which firmware is being run by the ant?

617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [GUIDE] How to rent your rig on LEASERIG.NET - Scrypt & SHA256 on: March 12, 2014, 02:00:27 PM
New LeaseRigProxy:

Quote
v0.5c
- improved compatibility with some stratum pools
- sending "ping" data to keep connection alive

Just upgraded to this version and although it appeared to be working ok hashing, submitting shares and getting the speeds from the api, the leaserigs site was reporting it as OFF

Gone back to v0.5a and it's working again.

This is on a KNC Jupiter in case it's important.
618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [GUIDE] How to rent your rig on LEASERIG.NET - Scrypt & SHA256 on: March 12, 2014, 01:30:12 PM
Does anyone know how to setup antminers using the advanced method...I am stuck trying to do this api stuff.

I only use the proxy with mine, but best guess is you'll need to edit

/etc/init.d/cgminer

there is a line that starts
PARAMS="AOPTIONS....

in there you will need to insert the commands you want to add.
619  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 0.998 BTC for 180GH/s on: March 11, 2014, 10:37:43 PM
After some trouble with UPS and E.U. Customs regarding undervaluing the miners, Bitmain now ships with DHL in the E.U and declares reasonable value. This is the BTC you paid him converted to USD and put on the invoice. This means here in the U.K you can convert BTC to USD to GBP and 20% of that plus a charge by DHL for paying Customs on your behalf is what you will pay.

Jacko

Thanks for this ! Im in the uk too. Do i just pay for costums on delivery or how Huh
JT

If it's UPS you pay the driver when he turns up with cheque or cash only (The one's I got yesterday were about £85 each)

I always request UPS for the deliveries so unsure of DHL but from shipments I've received in the past from other vendors they have contacted me in advance to pay by card, sometimes they send me a bill later
620  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 0.998 BTC for 180GH/s on: March 11, 2014, 08:11:22 PM
how long will it take for them to be shipped to uk??
Has anyone tried it ??
Thanks,
JT

China to UK is 2 days by UPS

So usually from the day you order it's in your hand in 4 days.
Okay thanks, do they deliver on saturdays ??

Don't think so, UPS site says "business day delivery" and all mine have arrived during the week.

It's Wednesday in China now, so if you placed and order would likely ship Friday and be delivered Monday.
