Result, as predicted by many ..... SCAMMER

Didn't lose any money just a few hours of my time driving to his 'address' only to find out he doesn't live there.

Is the forum broken? Direct links to post don't seem to work for me. They just go to a specific page, but not to the specific post. Anyone else having this problem?

The latest update to AdBlock causes this symptom, also breaks the 'new' links, if you use it just disable on this site

Thank you!
Yeah, Thanks Tigger.... had same here.
Most progress in 3 days.

Having a hard time... my baby is dead(desktop) /everything is fried. That was an expensive bolt of lightning.
Next time they talk about solar flares, I'm paying more attention. 1/2 the neighborhood got same.

You are all welcome, the 'new' stopped working for me and annoyed me so much had to find out why

Phoenix1969, sorry to hear your troubles, perhaps it's some sort of karma thing for living in the most beautiful place in the world, I had the pleasure of 2 weeks on Oahu many years ago was paradise Smiley

1btc start bid, bid increments of 0.1 please to stop silly bidding Smiley

I just noticed this, which means my 1.25 and the previous 1.15 were both invalid, leaving my previous 1.1 as the highest valid bid.

But it's my fault for not spotting it, so happy to pay the 1.25, have PM'd you.
725  Economy / Auctions / Re: Antminer - 180 gh/s [UK only Flash Auction, ends 6pm 14/1/14] on: January 14, 2014, 05:59:53 PM
BTC1.25

Same terms as my previous bid, payment on collection by whichever method you prefer.

Is there any documentation for using the "tune" firmware? Before you start to blow up your rig? How many volts? Frequency, anything like that? Did KNC release anything on that or just threw it at us and said good luck?

This is a great thread for tweaking the jupiters

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=313978.0

For my October 8VRM Jupiter I went from 557GH -> 625GH

Changes to the cgminer.sh file in this post.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=313978.msg4367865#msg4367865

Regarding the tune I used Cyper's post as a guide, tweaking voltages to get them around 50A / 40W in the advanced screen

BTC1.1

Can collect tonight, payment on collection by BTC or can do Cash or Bank Transfer if you want the money for the boiler repairs.

729  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KnC Miner list of orders - Neptune on: January 14, 2014, 10:14:59 AM
Tigggger, nobody that paid past the 28th of December gave their order information ?

No, the thread probably got buried a few pages down

+ 1 ! I also have posted my order info, but the thread is not updated Sad

Sorry pedrosoft missed yours, added to the list.
730  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Pool][Profit-Switch][Optional Auto-Exchange per Coin][Vardiff] ~ Hashcows on: January 14, 2014, 09:25:56 AM
Thanks, i'll try, do you how old a version I need to go back to ?

3.5.0 was the last version without the 5 minute delay. It has other nuances, such as not reporting diff correctly, but it''s definitely without the 5 minute delay.

I always thought it was 3.3.1, anyway that's the version I've used since it came out and it runs very well.

Very handy for 'new' coins, you can set the pools up in advance so pool0: new coin pool1: normal coin, the instant it goes live you are mining it Smiley

As I needed quite a few to consolidate my rigs into fewer machines and they seemed to be really hard to get hold of I bought a batch from China.

Whilst there were many types I settled on the ones pictured below because they have the capicitors for better power and the molex cables are the same length making it better for cable management and they have multiple power wires.

1x -> 16x cables can be used in any size pci-e slots so easier than buying different types of cables.

1: £15.00
2-4: £12.50
5+: £10.00

Delivery:
UK: Free 1st class post
Europe: Free for quantities of 5 or more, BTC0.01 for less

Payment
BTC preferred ( 1EryCmQKirx3GBRGjpfFiMpFafVEKk1DS5 )
Paypal if you pay the fees (will only send to verified address).

732  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Hacking The KNC Firmware: Overclocking on: January 11, 2014, 12:47:46 AM
Very confused now  Huh

Applying anything at the Advanced page removes the overclock with immediate effect.
To restart the overclock just do /config/zzz.sh restart or whatever file you use.

So basically when tweaking the voltages whenever you hit Apply you need to restart the overclock file via SSH Wink

I would suggest to install BFGminer - it is much easier to tweak as you can see the hash rate of each individual board.

Pressing the 'Apply" button sets the clocks back to default.
Restart modified .sh again after making any changes on Advanced page.

Thank you both Smiley

I had just modified the existing cgminer.sh, restarted the miner and although I can see shares at the pool I've lost http & ssh access so will need to carry on tweaking tomorrow when I have physical access to reboot it manually.
733  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Hacking The KNC Firmware: Overclocking on: January 10, 2014, 11:09:26 PM
OK, finally decided to give this a go, october jupiter 8 vrm which was running around 557GH

Followed the instructions to change to 211, and initially speed was awful around 400, so using cyper's post as a guide started messing with advanced page replicating the spi voltage and frequency and then tweaking the various die voltages, after a while I only managed to get it back up to around 500 and decided to give up.

Flashed back to 0.98 and the miner returned to it's usual 557GH

Today decided to give it another go, flashed back to 0.99.1-tune, made the alteration to 221 and restarted and it was up around 620 which was excellent, when I looked at the advanced page it had remembered all my settings from the previous attempt.

Most of the dies were running around 50A similar to the screenshot cyper posted, but one was up at 54A so I lowered it's voltage setting and hit apply, immediately the miner dropped back down to 550GH and all the dies dropped back down to 42-43A

Very confused now  Huh

Tigggger: If you want to create a standard for coin data, I'll implement it (no guarantee on how soon). Maybe we can even get the websites to use it.

Thanks, I presume json is easiest for you, still working on my complete list of coins and profits once I'm happy will put something together and email you the details so you can test at your leisure.
735  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][UFO] COMING FROM OUTER SPACE - JUST LAUNCHED (5th january) on: January 05, 2014, 04:31:36 PM
60 millions coins premined...
Now just hoping it 'll never reach exchange so the crook can't cash out on collective idiocy...

I hope you understand 60 million of 4 billion is just 1.5% premine... Seems a lot when you don't say total number of coins Wink

As most coins will never reach the maximum number that's available, the only thing that matters is how many you have available to dump if/when it hits an exchange.

Lets say it's a whole week until that happens

Coins issued: 93,600,000
Other users: 33,600,000
You: 60,000,000 (65% of all coins out there)

I'll pass
736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 05, 2014, 12:51:33 PM
Why wouldn't you run VNC or Remote Desktop on your rigs in case you have to control them while away?

Yeah I haven't gotten around to it yet, it's a bit tricky with the dynamic IP and I don't have direct access to the router for port forwarding either, it's a long story but I'm waiting for better internet to become available very soon.

If you use chrome as your browser the extension "chrome remote desktop" is easy no need to bother with ports and ip's it just works.
737  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KnC Miner list of orders - Neptune on: January 04, 2014, 05:50:08 PM
Tiggger this is no Batch 3 Neptune's, it's only Batch 1 and Batch 2.

The first machine that were offered to Knc Customers only were the appreciative batch, then batch 1, and now batch 2's (both batch 1 and 2 are open to the general public).

I put my reasoning in the first post why I named them this way.

3x batches were offered of 1,200 units each. They will likely ship at different times and therefore as the purpose of the thread is to track deliveries it seems the best way to list them.

Quote
Update: 3rd Jan:
KNC are referring to the current batch as batch #2, but that's very confusing as there have been 3 so I am using the following
Batch #1 = 1,200 units available to previous customers @ $10,000
Batch #2 = 1,200 units available for anyone @ $13,000
Batch #3 = 1,200 units available for anyone @ $10,000
738  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGWatcher 1.3.4, a GUI/monitor for CGMiner & BFGMiner to help minimize downtime on: January 03, 2014, 12:36:03 AM
Got a few suggestions for you (loving cgremote btw)

1. Made this one a while ago, but just in case it got forgotten as I think it would be useful. Allow an option to prevent coin switch if the difference is within a defined percentage. So if you are mining a coin at 4,500% profit and a new coin goes to the top with 4,550% it's probably not worth switching as some pools take a while to get going.

2. Would like an option to disable/ignore a coin whilst retaining all it's settings. The reasoning behind this is that sometimes there may be a problem, say a chain fork so you may not want to use it until the problem is fixed. I know you can simply remove the coin assignment to achieve this but it ties in with the next suggestion.

3. Add a notes field for each coin profile. So I could disable the coin and leave a note why, once the problem is fixed, can just re-enable a coin. Also handy as some coins (as there are so many) I forget the reasons, eg "takes 4 days to confirm"

4. An option to retrieve coin data from a specified url. Someone mentioned this earlier but currently I have switching off as both coinwarz and coinchoose are missing several of the most profitable coins. I could knock up some php on my server to provide the json for cgwatcher. eg http://mydomain/earthcoin.php obviously would need to figure out a standard format for the files.

Keep up the great work Smiley

I agree... sometime soon, you may want to have btc only, and no usa fiat for that reason....
hopefully by then btc will be wider accepted...  will be interesting to see who gets the base currency.
The problem is much bigger than most realize....
Our country is so far in debt now, there's no chance for a recovery under the current system
They just keep printing more, with nothing to back it, and banks issuing loans to create even more,
with nothing ventured from their own stash...  like the housing bubble.  Raised everyone's interest rates
.....
Veering off-topic but this is an interesting video that explains it all

740  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: KnC Miner : Security hacked - Take remote control over miner! on: December 31, 2013, 11:47:14 PM
Wait... the OP is kind enough to inform us of a possible exploit and you're nailing him for it???
I rather this type of information is made public than kept under wraps and have "hackers" exploit it.

My thoughts exactly, thank you OP for doing the honourable thing and giving users a chance to lock down their machines before someone less honest found it.
