421  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] 5TH/s BTC Olympus ZEUS Bitcoin Mining Rig Open for Sale. on: September 02, 2014, 05:37:00 PM
Yes you can delete my post but my request for source code still stands even if I'm not going to send a DMCA takedown request for the time being.

That's a very shitty thing to do (and particularly stupid given ck is a moderator AND the author of the software you are stealing), delete this thread and ban his ass from the forums.
422  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 17x Bitmain Antminer S1's [UK ONLY] [7/17 Remaining] on: September 02, 2014, 12:29:34 PM

For second time after Silk Road we see a real use for Bitcoins in the news!

What was it Zvi, has bitcoinhookers.com gone live ? Smiley
424  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [In Stock]Only $609! Gridseed A1 1TH Bitcoin Miner from X-Hash.com on: September 02, 2014, 11:05:08 AM
Any reviews or feedback about this company? I got reply as they allow purchase of only one unit now, just wondering if it is worth it. Thanks in advance

The website still says 10 as mimimum order.

If you received a PM telling you that it's possible to order 1, be very sure that it actually came from X-Hash. Scammers will often choose a very similar forum name in an attempt to trick you.
425  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: ANN: BITMAIN announces Cloud Hash Platform-HASHNEST.COM on: September 02, 2014, 10:47:44 AM

The way they make it sound is that you will continue to receive a dividend until the cost to run it each day is higher than the Pay out you would receive.

Edit, so once an S2 makes less than $3.20 a day it will stop hashing for us.  Anyone have an estimate of when that will be?

Well before you get back the BTC1.6 without a doubt.

Selling cloud mining is a way to raise money for the next generation equipment. This wouldn't be so bad if you stood a chance of making a profit as well out of the deal but the chances are slim, and that new equipment will be deployed by them before you have access to it, raising the difficulty and further eroding your returns from the current offering.

ALL manufacturers are ripping off buyers, the only way the equation will start to balance so that BOTH parties make something is when people stop paying these inflated prices.
426  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 17x Bitmain Antminer S1's [UK ONLY] [9/17 Remaining] on: September 02, 2014, 09:31:39 AM
I really hope this lot is sold to the last piece, but in case you have some of them left unsold or you care cooperating with us in "something from nothing" project, please check out our thread here: http://goo.gl/xtJZIr

Cheers
Macsga.

Thanks, I had actually seen your post when it first went up and thought about it Smiley

I guessed you were in Europe and figured the postage cost would be too high to be worth sending an antminer, but if any are left I'll contact you and see what we can work out, it's a great idea and I wish you luck too.

Is there a problem with the original PSU that means an upgrade is advisable

Can you clarify which PSU you get with the hosted option (It's the same price as upgraded one, but lists the same 1100w one in the description)
429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 01, 2014, 05:28:30 PM

I think that knc is going crazy. Concracts are too expensive and for a limited time !

https://www.kncminer.com/products/1ths-of-bitcoin-mining-for-6-months

On the same day bitmain announce 1TH cloud mining for $772 + $3.24 per day maintenance ($1,345 for 6 months, no expiry but probably won't be viable much longer anyway, and this is probably a -ROI deal)

Good timing KNC Smiley
430  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASICMiner Tube Sales Information Thread [Round2] on: August 31, 2014, 01:44:40 PM
Price adjusted to 7.9 btc per set.

That price is getting tempting, but for me with high power rates they aren't really economical to run and if diff increases 45% from where we are now they cost more to run than they make and it isn't going to be long until the diff is that high so almost certainly a losing proposition.

Are there any plans to offer tubes/chips/new machines undervolted in the same way as Bitmain did with the S2 as this would give a much longer lifespan or is this the best w/GH that the chips can do ?
431  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN][UK ONLY] Assembled ASICMiner Tube (1.25 BTC) on: August 30, 2014, 10:00:53 PM
Sad to see not much interest... come on UK people !

Maybe UK people are getting smarter Tongue

Not a dig at the OP btw, his offer was very good, the current batch now come pre-assembled, so only needs a standard group buy now.
432  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: btcgarden-AM-v1 down to $0.68/GHs. In stock for international selling! on: August 30, 2014, 12:05:30 AM
.20/kWh is rough man, you may be better off looking for a colo spot in a datacenter somewhere.

Already done that Smiley I have quite a few machines hosted in the USA for me, here in the UK it's even worse than the $0.20c I used and we get stung with 20% import tax on top

So that is a cheaper option as I save that 20% but there's not a lot of difference really. Even though the host companies there have cheap electric by the time they add on their profits with the additional costs of running a data centre and cooling etc it's back up around that level.

Anyway good luck with the sales, I'm sure the free shipping will tempt a lot of people
433  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: btcgarden-AM-v1 down to $0.68/GHs. In stock for international selling! on: August 29, 2014, 11:30:02 PM
Sorry didn't notice you were selling them Smiley

I only picked $0.20 as that seems a reasonable average, people can put their own figures in, was just trying to provide a simple basepoint. I agree the exponential calculators aren't very good

I've been tempted by several of the asicminer chip machines and tubes, the prices are attractive compared to dragons etc but in the end I don't think the power consumption figures are good enough, that may not matter to some who have free or cheap electric, sadly I don't Sad
434  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Hashra moonraker on: August 29, 2014, 10:01:15 PM
Pre-orers is not a serious business IMHO. When someone need money to create some product it's better for his  image to find an investor(s).... But their greed makes them looking to us, their potential customers...

Pre-orders wouldn't be so bad if the equation wasn't so skewed...

If I take a risk by 'investing' in a pre-order, then I expect a decent reward. Sadly this never happens, all the rewards go to the vendor and we inevitably get nothing, hardware late or under spec.

That said I like the price point on these machines, so if you start selling from stock will likely get some.
435  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: btcgarden-AM-v1 down to $0.68/GHs. In stock for international selling! on: August 29, 2014, 09:54:26 PM
Can anyone make a calculation to see I am able to ROI if I buy this ASIC?

Not with current Bitcoin value.

https://tradeblock.com/mining/

I'm not sure a calculator that assumes a static percentage of growth every jump is the most accurate gauge for ROI. At this point, exponential growth would be extremely difficult to sustain.

I find it simpler to work things out without considering difficulty, if the result is greater than 60 days it'll likely never pay off.

$430 + $75 shipping = $505 (1 BTC)
At current difficulty
BTC0.01299 - BTC0.00589 electric = BTC0.0071 per day

So 140 days to break even with NO difficulty change ever.

Also if difficulty rises 45% from it's current number then it only mines what it costs to run.

So the 1.5ths minder is that a new A1 chip because it's using lead power where the 1ths using 1ooo watt

The same chips it just uses more of them and they are underclocked
438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 29, 2014, 11:13:58 AM
Humble request, would KNC provide 2 to 1 pcie socket for both benefit!?

then we don't need to try lot of things, will knc support?

They were too cheap to include a second and third PCI-e power socket so I'm guessing that's unlikely; plus it wouldn't actually solve the single socket problem.

More importantly that would be acknowledging there is a problem, so it will never happen.

440  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: mining.BitcoinAffiliatenetwork.com - we're giving away 1 Antminer S3 every day! on: August 28, 2014, 05:56:01 PM
Those hashing rental places sometimes have certain miners that don't perform as well as others. Make sure you are getting what you pay for.

This is a great point, and let's further consider WestHash/NiceHash specifically. Since the order is comprised of so many miners, there are countless internet connections and other variables that come into play, and all those different miners from around the globe must connect to a single stratum server. Factor in that orders are not often constant as miners are re-allocated to other orders. Finally factor in that, for example, a 30 Th/s rental can be comprised of 85-90 miners. Add in rental fees and so on, and there's quite a bit to consider before renting for profit.

As I understand it the way Nicehash/Westhash works is based purely on submitted shares so the quality of the various connections doesn't matter that much. You aren't paying for a speed per-se you are paying for the equivalent number of shares for the requested speed.
