561  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: September 14, 2013, 05:32:44 AM
That's it. I'm out.

Fortunately I only lost about 5 BTC on my 57 BTC investment.

Even if Labcoin is for real, they royally messed up and anyone with half a brain will be getting out now.

5 BTC is not too much. Hope you can do better with your 57 BTC left somewhere else  Grin

It's only sad because that 57 was worth 80 just earlier today. Oh well, no big loss. I won't even care if Labcoin isn't a scam and they actually deliver what was promised. I'll always know I made the smart the decision. Right now buying Labcoin is no longer investing, it's just pure gambling.

Come on guys, I was worried before
But they showed us a pic.
You know their chips don't lie, and I'm starting to feel it's right
All the attraction, the tension, Don't you see baby, this is perfection.
564  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: September 14, 2013, 01:44:00 AM
Do we have any Labcoin bagholders in here? Sell while you still can and pass the bag to someone else. This is clearly a scam at this point.

I haven't sold yet. Even though I am down now, I'm getting a kick out of this.

I'm not completely convinced they are a total scam yet, but things don't look good. I think they will bounce back a little actually, unless there is real definitive proof it's a scam.
565  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: September 14, 2013, 01:21:36 AM
I'm sorry, thats a total BS excuse. If they don't offer proof, we have to assume they don't have anything. They are just creating more hysteria. ASIC Miner did the right thing by disclosing their hash rate.
566  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Self-Mining soon dead? on: September 13, 2013, 10:06:28 PM
You can't open source an ASIC. It's not the design that is expensive. It's the production.

If mining isn't economical for individuals, it's not going to be economical to large companies either. That is why we have dynamic difficulty.
567  Economy / Securities / Re: [IPVO] [Multiple Exchanges] Neo & Bee - The Bitcoin Bank (Cyprus) - LMB Holdings on: September 12, 2013, 08:42:27 PM
NEOBEE Offering Schedule

The XBOND Pre-IPVO Offering will open next week on Tuesday, September 17th at 1PM EDT / 5PM UTC and end upon the start of the IPVO.

The official IPVO will begin next week on Friday, September 20th at 1PM EDT / 5PM UTC.

Please do not send XBONDs for share exchange redemption before September 17th at 1PM EDT / 5PM UTC, or they will be sent back to you. Any bonds sent after the deadline, or after the XBOND offering is sold out, will be sent back as well. Please make sure to follow all instructions, including giving the account name of your BitFunder account via email. First come, first served. Please review the prospectus for additional details.

Next week's IPVO on Friday will go live on all 3 exchanges (BitFunder, Havelock, BTCT) at pretty much the same time.

Since it will be listed on the 3 exchanges, can we opt to have the shares on Havelock or BTCT instead?  I am an XBOND holder and would prefer to keep my NEOBEE shares on Havelock.

XBond is Havelock only, correct? So you exchange Havelock XBond shares for Bitfunder NEOBEE shares only even though NEOBEE is also listed on Havelock?

I don't mind so much because I use both Havelock and Bitfunder but I was wondering why it was done this way.

TAT said they will offer share transfering services for a fee of 1 BTC

This is correct, the XBOND redemptions are strictly for shares on BF, the underlying asset. If you would like to xfer to another exchange afterward, you can take advantage of the xfer services offered.
568  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces <$3/GH January pricing and new product availability on: September 12, 2013, 05:23:13 PM
How much power does this new miner use?

Actually this is what I really want to know to. There doesn't seem to be power estimations for any of their miners.
569  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces <$3/GH January pricing and new product availability on: September 12, 2013, 05:22:09 PM
Really excite about this, actually, but I'm on the edge about ordering due to the lack of a credit card option.

It's nice that cointerra feels that 1TH/s will return $4000 a month in December.

That means I should do really well with the KNC, BitFury, and HashFast miners that are supposed to arrive in October.

Add paypal or a credit card option cointerra and you have a new customer. Otherwise... I just don't feel like I can risk my BTC.
570  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Just going to vent to you about how we the people(miners) are getting ripped on: September 11, 2013, 09:57:50 PM
Just because they admitted to doing it doesn't mean that what Avalon did with mining with batch 2 was right.

Myself and a lot of other batch 2 customers whose orders were shipped late will never make back ROI and will likely lose at couple of grand on their batch 2 purchase.

Avalon stole money out of my pocket, it's as simple as that.

Still way better than what BFL has done though.

I paid $1300 (about 125 BTC at the time) for a 60 GH/s miner last October that still hasn't arrived yet...
571  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Possible uses for Heat Generated by btc mining? on: September 11, 2013, 09:06:02 PM
I think you could use it as a heat cource for a super efficient stirling engine which you could then attach to an electric generator.
572  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: fast difficulty increase favours bigger pools on: September 11, 2013, 09:02:46 PM
Don't forget it works both ways.

You are just as likely to find MORE blocks than expected when you are in a smaller, high variance pool as you are to find fewer blocks.

That's how variance works.

So it is neither better or worse.
573  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin: On our way to a Petahash on: September 11, 2013, 08:45:32 PM
knc stated "delivery at end of september" not september 25th.

that's why he said "or so"
574  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Profitability of the new bfl monarchs (600ghs) on: September 11, 2013, 08:40:21 PM
I estimate profitability from buying a BFL Monarch at 0%.

Margin of error of +/- 4%
575  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Jallies on: September 11, 2013, 08:36:31 PM
Would it not make more business sense to fill all the jallies orders and then they can stop some of the complaints. At the same time they then would be able to concentrate on the other lines.

No, you will ALWAYS be pissing someone off.

All of the people who ordered singles are VERY pissed that they only were shipping jallies for the first couple of months.

Remember BFLs 1/3 shipping guarantee where they promised to ship each product in equal amounts, etc?
576  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Is it worth......? on: September 11, 2013, 08:33:52 PM
Mining is very risky. THere is a very big chance you won't make back the cost of the hardware you would buy.

Since you are already very late in ordering, it's near guaranteed that you will lose money.

Definitely do not take out a loan.

Even if you make a profit, it isn't likely that you will make more than the interest on the loan.

Mining simply won't be that profitable.
577  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Jallies on: September 11, 2013, 04:57:49 PM
No, they need to concentrate on singles and mini rigs. They've shipped far more jalapeņos than anything else.

It's not fair that people who ordered a jalapeņo six months later and for 1/10th the price have gotten their hardware while those who made a much larger investment much earlier have not.
578  Economy / Securities / Re: Looking for investment on: September 10, 2013, 09:02:15 PM
Why would you think that it is a joke?
Because you do everything that you should not be doing.

MPOE-PR, I summon thee!

I also summon MPOE-PR thee to call me a retard while being an accomplice to the morally inept Erik who has robbed people of their shares.

This is a gambling related business...
This is a gambling related investment.
?? I am not sure why rephrase what I've already said.
Because "investing" in your "gambling related business" is itself more of a gamble than depositing any coins into something with "dice" in its name.

Not if you have manager and significant statistical data to show that you that I can repay the whole sum in full and have a good explanation.

Even if you can, where is the prove that you will?
579  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Asset Exchange Marketplace + Rewritable Options Trading on: September 10, 2013, 08:22:34 PM
Bitfunder seems to redirect me to weexchange right now. Thats not really helpful :-/.

Hope they come back up soon.
580  Economy / Securities / Re: [IPVO] [Multiple Exchanges] Neo & Bee - The Bitcoin Bank (Cyprus) - LMB Holdings on: September 10, 2013, 06:00:28 PM
It's funny the manner in which you see us:
It's stupid to buy at such a premium... except if you can use it to buy something cheaper anyway, which is the case NOW.
Let's say you buy XBOND at 0.011 instead of 0.01, you still get NEOBEE shares for less than 0.003. That's the point I was making.

But even the guy who bought at 0.0119 isn't going to profit much from this, that's why I said 0.0012 is the limit. Doing the math because people might not even bother.

Well, not only do you get a cheaper rate. You pretty much also have a guaranteed spot in the IPO. The public part of the IPO might sell out pretty quickly so that is a risk you are avoiding.
