Trying to trade from my phone while at a New Order concert with btct bogged down like this is ridiculous. Can't believe I actually was able to buy shares.

663  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: August 01, 2013, 01:48:04 AM
Happy I at least got to buy 18,500 shares at about 0.00245. Haven't been able to get anymore trades through. It's not the 100,000 shares at 0.001 I should have had had there been no glitch but it's better than nothing.

For those of you who wre curious if I killed myself, no I'm still alive!
664  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: August 01, 2013, 12:28:50 AM
At FIVE TIMES the IPO price which ended just 4 hours ago??! You're crazy!

Why yes, yes I am.
Must by why I made an exchange Tongue

Good for you. I tried to buy 100,000 shares that did not go through due to crappy website.

I'm going to kill myself if I just missed out on an easy $40,000.
665  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: August 01, 2013, 12:26:05 AM
tl;dr can someone explain why we only get 40%, i put all the spare BTC in which was minuscule I had because i accidentally entered 3200 instead of 2300 in a buy on a different stock.

Read the first page of this thread.

Be happy you got to buy any at all. A lot of us were not able to due to software bugs.
666  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: August 01, 2013, 12:23:52 AM

Well looks like the demand for labcoin will be high on launch

why do you think that?

It's obvious its a pure bubble
668  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTCT.CO] [IPO] [FAQ]BTCGARDEN MINER---Eyes to the horizon on: July 31, 2013, 10:51:02 PM
$16 million valuation seems a bit ridiculous when you are only at the tape out stage.

How can this be justified when Labcoin is in a similar situation and the IPO price was set at a tiny fraction of this.
669  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: July 31, 2013, 10:41:49 PM
I just wanted to buy some shares. Sad

Is that too much to ask?
670  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: July 31, 2013, 10:01:24 PM
It's prevented me from realising either the profits or losses from a massive risk.... that's the way the world works, nothing free about it. Regardless, this clusterfuck of retardedness prevented something it shouldn't have. Be it my profit or loss.

Please.  there was a limited quantity of shares and people who got in first and paid the most attention to the thread got 'em.  Labcoin didn't "owe" you anything. You can still purchase shares on the market once trading actually starts.

Really has nothing to do with that. Even people who knew about the IPO for a while didn't necessarily hold that much coin on BTCT. People who got screwed just happened to transfer their money to that POS site at the wrong time.
671  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: July 31, 2013, 09:35:13 PM
srsly guys, just wait for the first dumper to get your cheap shares.

They will likely never be anywhere near this cheap again.
672  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: July 31, 2013, 09:33:56 PM
Be professional, be a part of the community and be a part of the solution rather than the problem.

Are you kidding? How professional was this mess with the bug on deposits in the latest 3h of the IPO Huh

The solution would have been to extend the deadline before the cutoff so that those who suffered the bug could place their bids.

Outside BTC world, any professional trader would just find a complaint at the exchange, and win. See Facebook IPO glitches, see who won in court and who lost.

Umm, if a problem with your bank wire, ACH, SEPTA payment, etc held up a deposit due to whatever reason then you would have no recourse. Delays happen. Waiting until the last minute to do something is not a guarantee for success.

I get that it's unfortunate. There have been times when I've wanted to get in or out of a position and BTCT has been ...  "less responsive" than I would like. Smiley -> Burnside
I know it's frustrating - it happens to all of us at some point. I'm serious about wanting to improve things - start a thread and get Burnside to look into the bug.

Yes, but since the IPO was being done on BTCT and the bug was on BTCT, the IPO should have been delayed until the bug was fixed.

This was not an unavoidable situation. The right thing could have been done but it wasn't.

You think it was handled fairly because you were able to get shares while others weren't.... right. ok.

How could you consider it fair when BTCT was unable to process deposits for the several hours of the IPO. Lots of people don't like to leave large amounts of BTC sitting up on a site that is admittedly in "beta" like BTCT. You'd think 3 hours would be enough time in the BTC world to purchase shares, expecially since the IPO itself was not announced that long ago.

it's fair because many people that placed bids were the same people following this IPO. Keep up to date next time.

Um, I knew about the IPO. I just don't keep that many coins up on BTCT. It's not secure or safe to keep hundreds of coins up there.

So with several hours to spare, I transfered them up to purchase. Only to find that hours and many confirmations later the site was bugged and my coins were not available.

Seems pretty reasonable to me.

What a ride. I have to hand it to burnside and the_swede, I think you guys made the right decision. It's not perfect and a bunch of people will be unhappy, but it was probably the fairest decision given the circumstances.

So now that this is done, see you in the post-IPO orderbook battlefield Cheesy

(And don't forget the other cryptostocks as well, I've heard some guys left cheap shares lying around)

+1. Enough with the complaints - the IPO is over. There are never going to be solutions in which demand is higher than supply where everyone is going to be pleased. As far as I'm concerned, the process was handled fairly and professionally. As a suggestion, if you feel that things didn't go smoothly and want the next issuance to be more successful, start a new thread with improvement requests for BTCT. Be professional, be a part of the community and be a part of the solution rather than the problem.

I had over 11 BTC that didn't show up because of the glitch.

I had 250 BTC not show up!

Look - lets keep it simple - there are two problems here.

1. BTCT.co was fucked for the last 20 minutes - people couldn't find funds and basically had to trick the system into displaying them
2. Factually, the bidding was shut off an hour early. This is based on the quoted timezones. This is an indisputable fact. It's not about perception, its about fact.

People are butt hurt because (1) fucked up those of us who were on time in any circumstance, and (2) fucked up everyone who isn't american and didn't osmose this alternative interpretation of time.

I tried to put in a bid for 100,000 shares to profit on what will be a major frenzy, and this cluster fuck of retardedness has cost me money plain and simple.

It was more than the last 20 minutes. It was at leas the last THREE HOURS. People who had transactions that were confirmed hours ago weren't seeing anything in their balance.

I too, attempted to buy 100,000 (with 250 coins) and was unable to.

You had as much time as anyone else. If you didn't make the cutoff it's no ones fault but your own. Stop spamming, the case is closed.

Just to quote my previous msg:

Quote
I made 2 TX; 15 min after each other, one cleared after 30min- the next was still not visible after 3hrs
following this instructions to make withdrawal of 0.001- pending amount is instantly visible to spend

Clearly many other users sent bitcoin toos with anticipation of standard transaction confirmation times; with the understanding they would be cleared to lock in buy order
before cutoff (I don't think 3hours in advance is too unreasonable) They were not visible to spend due to bug on btc-tc backend - only after making 'fake' withdrawal of some amount did they appear. I think you cannot say that people would expect such a quirk

Exactly. Very clearly put.

Lots of people lost faith in BTCT today and Labcoin too for not delaying the IPO when their were technical glitches.

678  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: July 31, 2013, 08:58:00 PM
People in on the LabCoin IPO only were able to buy roughly 38% of the shares they bit on. The rest of the money will be refunded to them. Thus, if you tried to buy 250 BTC worth of shares, you'll get about 100 BTC worth of shares and have 150 BTC refunded to you.

The coins will likely be refunded when trading goes live in 4 hours or so. I predict that people will use this money to reinvest in other securities, especially ASICMiner since it's on sale now.

I think price will increase for the rest of the day and tomorrow too, so now is the time to buy back in!
679  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: July 31, 2013, 08:49:05 PM
That said, I don't think it would hurt terribly if Burnside opened the bidding up, for say 5 minutes, to people who had their coins in before the cutoff.

YES, maybe that would calm down some people like me from wanting to push MORE REGULATION on exchanges, like forcing them to delay the IPO when the contract was broken? ...

lol - simply by not following their own shutoff times.... um... yeah... 14 minutes left... bidding locked...

East coast is EST - deal with it.

I think that half of Indiana is the only place currently on EST and there it is actually 3:50pm right now!
680  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: July 31, 2013, 08:41:21 PM
Just to make matters worse, this IPO caused a ridiculous crash of ASICMiner.

So not only did I miss out on a great opportunity, I lost a ton of money too.

I'm down a few grand. If I had 10x as many shares in Asicminer I'd probably have punched a wall for not selling out before the crash.

I've been selling my ASICMiner shares but only was able to get rid of a couple dozen before the crash. Still have about 100 left :-/

I know it will come back. It's jsut frustrating because I was about to get out completely and move on to other things. Now I have to sit around and wait for it to recover.
