201  Other / Politics & Society / Re: what do you know about Recep Tayyip Erdoğan? on: April 11, 2017, 05:50:59 PM
Recep tayyip erdoğan is the president of turkey.I am curious. What do you know about?

As I can see @OP is from Turkey. So I would like to ask him; Why does he ask other people about Erdogan? Will he vote to referendum? And what does he believe about the expansion of the president's powers? Has he a positive or negative vote about it? Last but not least, why Erdogan seeks to provoke the European leaders? I am curious too.
Yes, I'm from turkey. we are curious what people in other countries think about us. yes I will vote to referandum. I do not support Erdogan and  I do not support the presidential system. I will vote negative.  Erdogan wants to take the votes of nationalist people, so Erdogan seeks to provoke the European leaders

Well, people from other countries they know that Erdogan is provocative, and sly as a fox and they cannot not have him any confidence because he is a liar. He manipulated through a fake coup to eliminate his army officers. Erdogan does not like to be the president of Turkey because does not believe in democracy. Erdogan dreams to be a 'sultan' and in order to satisfy his personal ambitions he will not hesitate to create problems in his country.
202  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [HELP] Help me in my thesis about Bitcoin on: April 11, 2017, 03:06:46 PM
All takes about 5 minutes and is anonymous.
Can anyone confirm this? Because i think google docs lets admin of document to view all IP's that viewed that document.

Really? I didn't know that; but searching I found that the admin has some extended capabilities. If the OP has the permission to see my ip then I don't feel so comfortable to answer the questionnaire because some sensitive information are checked with red asterisk that is, as required.

204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is It Possible To Use Only Bitcoin In Japan? on: April 11, 2017, 09:00:29 AM
I do not know how the Japanese accept anything new in their everyday lives, but if they are not stick with their paper fiat money in the distant future will use their bitcoins at an increasing rate while their fiat money too. Japan is a technologically advanced country and if the use of credit/debit cards and web banking is widely used, there is no reason not for them to use bitcoin instead of their cards.
205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Ban on: April 11, 2017, 01:57:26 AM
What will cause a government to ban bitcoin in the country? In what circumstances will that be justified by the government?
And how can government actually ban bitcoin? I mean they can ban people selling or buying stuff with bitcoin in the country, can they actually ban people from holding bitcoin?

I believe that none government will ban bitcoin but if has any decide to do something like that will do for the following reasons:
1. The cental bank of this country will be fear that citizens will stop to support local fiat currency
2. Government will loose the control because there is no way to control btc

Imo, there is no country who cannot actually ban btc but she can create many barriers if anyone wants to use it, like as:
1. Very strict policies to local exchanges
2. Unnecessary bureaucracy and procedures to anyone businessman wishes to transact with bitcoin
3. Information campaigns against bitcoin

Well, i think that some of your points are actually right, however I have to say that i cannot agree with some of them.
First, I dont have idea what influence of bitcoin being banned could have on fiat currency, it is really unlikely to see that the locals would boycott the fiat currency usage because of harmful cryptocurrency rights.
Secondly, losing control about what?
The government control printing paper money, also the law however bitcoin is totally separate from regular fiat money, it is totally a different thing.
Bitcoin will live even when it is going to be banned in every country in the world ( which is pretty much impossible )

But I agree with you about the barriers that government can build on the way of cryptocurrency, imagine just forbidding crypto exchanges.
That would be a huge strike into crypto trading in specific country, the only way would be to trade it face-to-face, and you can't even know if the guy you make the trade with, isn't from police right?

They can try to block bitcoin, but they cannot erase it no matter what.

No I have a different view about that. Look at the definition of fiat money in investopedia. Fiat has value not because there is a commodity to support it but because there is a demand from people. If it (demand) is reduced then the local currency gradually loses its value. Moreover there are other reasons. Say in China; why were they in a hurry the last January to regulate bitcoin? Chinese authorities claimed that their purpose was to restrict the bitcoin's illegal transactions. But the three leading Chinese exchanges suspended only bitcoin withdrawals but fiat (yuan) transactions were not affected. This situation lasted for a month or more if I'm not mistaken. So if PBOC reacts in that way what anyone could think for other not so strong countries?
206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which country backs "Bitcoin" as currency? on: April 11, 2017, 01:20:29 AM
As I read from people answered above they stated most of them Japan, Philippines and someone USA. But there are some others too. As I know these are Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Canada, United Kingdom, Estonia, Australia, Switzerland (they accept payment for public services with bitcoin) and somewhere I had read about South Korea.

208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Andreas Antonopoulos hard at work...? on: April 08, 2017, 10:34:32 AM
Why do you think Andreas Antonopoulos is so hard at work (traveling around the world, giving speeches, etc) in creating awareness on bitcoin?

I really don't care why he does that. I had the chance to listen two of his speeches in meetups, with about 2 years interval and in both of them has some interesting things to say. I believe he is a talented entrepreneur and an excellent author too. But, why do you care about the Antonopoulos activities?

A really excellent video how someone can spend his bitcoins in everyday needs. It's good not only for bitcoin but for cryptos in general if so many stores will accept bitcoin as medium of payment next summer as post someone above me. Japan is a technologically developed country so their citizens soon get used paying with bitcoin.
210  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Another Useless Blog, Maybe. on: April 07, 2017, 07:12:17 PM
I'm doing my part to foster adoption of Cryptocurrencies. I started blogging this week in an attempt to dumb this stuff down enough for average people to understand. I had an account here before that I didn't utilize much and is now blocked for some reason (TheGreatWhatsIt). But my new username lines up with my blog. So please stop on over and check it out, leave comments and slap me around when I'm wrong. No adds for now.

www.stachewisdom.com

With no offense; really speaking I didn't like anything from it. Not only for average Joe as you said but for many people I don't believe it is appropriate.

1. Speaking about mining (cpu, gpu and asic).
2. Acquiring cryptocurrencies (mining, staking, so on)
Do you really believe that the average Joe who wants to learn some about cryptocurrencies needs all of these?

Some more comments that are more important imo:

Disjointed sentences and paragraphs, from one topic to another, blog dealing with many things SQL, career, agile? In categories two different links for same thing cryptocurrency and Crypto Currencies.

Some advice if you want:

1. A blog absolutely devoted in this issue
2. Things from start for novice with simply words to more advanced ones
3. Frequent update
4. Last but not least. You must first know very well any issue if you want to teach others about it.
211  Other / Politics & Society / Re: trump bombs syria, sells out to neocons/jews on: April 07, 2017, 01:34:59 PM
The alibi response from the chemical-toxic weapons were dropping in Syria was the US hit with 59 tomahawk in Homs. That seems to me to have twofold reasons, first to halt the Iran's role in the region for the security of Israel, and the second one to share again the playground with the influences zones in Syria.
212  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or zcash? on: April 07, 2017, 10:23:12 AM
Do you think there is room for two currencies to grow in demand, shrink in supply exponentially? Will they cut into each other's market share?

Bitcoin has been proven and can be divided into tiny fractions, given the fact it is working it seems a safe bet for the future. It has failures, though. From an economic standpoint, if zcash replaces it in underground markets, will bitcoins legal uses keep its demand high? Will it continue to grow from speculation?

Bitcoin isn't private, tumbling it has huge risks and the end user has lots of security demands to remain anonymous. It may not be the best for underground uses whcih may have an economic impact. zcash is bitcoin but with its flaws ironed out.I do suspect it will grow like bitcoin but I'm interested in the dynamics.

Thoughts?

Just someone trying to compare the bitcoin, with an altcoin causes laughter. And even when the arguments are the privacy and anonymity and can be used in deep web. In cryptoworld there is monero. Right? If the market wants it or believe in it (zcash) then it will survive. Otherwise will die like as many alts in a short time.
213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Daily use of bitcoin? on: April 06, 2017, 08:36:44 PM
I think in everyday life, it is hard to use bitcoin because of it waiting time in transaction. Bitcoin is best suited for paying for online services like online shopping or any service on websites like fiverr where item takes time and there is enough time for transaction to happen.
Actually like someone said above, bitcoin has been used for physical stores like starbucks.
I think it is feasible because in most cases you don't need more than 2 confirmations. However, it is definitely much easier and practical to use it in online stores.

I completely agree with you. When I want to buy something from an online store I don't feel confident to use my credit card. Since now I have a prepaid card too linked to Paypal account and I use any is more convenient to me. Bitcoin is the perfect medium to use it online but only if and only if I really trust the seller. If I have any doubt about him I prefer paypal because is buyer friendly due to chargeback policy.
214  Other / Politics & Society / Re: London bishop and accomplice jailed over sexual assaults on: April 06, 2017, 06:19:06 PM

--snip--

They after all are humans too, much as we find the deed revolting. I think what made this worse is that they are people of authority who abused a child so the abuse is much more glaring.

The structure of the church also seem to aid these abuses and that's what really infuriate people. They always try to settle this out of court and sometimes it only come out in public when the family refuse to settle and then report to the police. It could have been worse had the church been Catholic - that has been known for spiriting away offending priests to other dioceses while they're reviewing the case. In some cases, they even send them away to other countries. You could have a new possible pedophile priest in your diocese and you wouldn't even know.

I agree with you and in recent years a lot of individuals have come forward claiming sexual abuse from priests or bishops. And whatever the cause of sexual abuse in the church, priests should be arrested and punished just like any other pedophile. Sadly, rather than removing them from the priesthood, they just , in most instances attempted to cover up the sexual abuse by transferring the offending priests to different parishes.

Many people involved in the church and have various offices eg priests, bishops, etc., not because they want to be close to God but because it's an easy way solving their financial problems. Several of them choose their victims from the weakest people and simultaneously believe that justice will not accuse of anything they will do because the church will protect them. The increased incidents of pedophilia did the Pope of Rome Francis to say, 'I ask humbly apologize for pedophiles priests'.
215  Economy / Economics / Re: The future of the paper money on: April 06, 2017, 01:14:38 PM

-- snip--

Yes, if you will read what I've said that there would be change with the paper money but there would be no mean of making the economy to fall. And it's what I've saying that paper money will be replaced by another means of payment and has monetary value. And that's a real speculation, we are near to become a cashless society.
And unfortunately it looks like my home country is moving full steam ahead to introduce a cashless society:
http://mobile.abc.net.au/news/2017-03-27/is-australia-on-the-brink-of-becoming-cashless-society/8377288?pfmredir=sm
This is just another way for the government to stick their nose further into everybody's business.

Unfortunately this is the reality all over the world. Governments are completely controlled from banks. Years ago they have understand that they (banks) can't control the paper (cash) money. Currently there are about one third of the global population without a bank account. So using the rapid development of internet they created mobile and web apps so as nobody to have any excuse that cannot spend his money if he has not fiat in his pocket. Blockchain technology gave them a new vehicle to develop their private ledgers and their e-coins too. Therefore, using various pretexts such as security, speed, ease to spending, money printing restrictions etc. will push people to use only digital wallets. Banks will fully control the wealth of each person and how he manages it.
216  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Complete Guide To Earning Free Bitcoin on: April 06, 2017, 12:32:52 PM
Hi there,

I've published a 3,000+ word blog post on all the best ways to earn free Bitcoins online.

I hope this helps guys:

https://thebitcoinstrip.com/free-bitcoins/

Shoot me a message if you have any questions -- I've been in the space for years, started from $0 and now earn several thousands per month in Bitcoin affiliate marketing.

 Smiley

I like your blog and I believe that is a complete one but I would like to mention a couple of things which is good for you to correct it. The first is that the ATH of bitcoin is bigger than you mention in your blog ($1144 USD). According to reddit post from exchange to exchange is MTGox was around $1240, BitFinex is $1175, Bitstamp $1163. Secondly and I believe that is a significant one, because people figure out wrong beliefs, it is that anyone can earns in 4 hours from faucets 160 mBit = 0.16 btc = 187 USD approximately. If this is true I am eager to learn and I believe many members of the forum want the same thing the way to do that.
217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Well, well, well, now we know what Jihan Wu’s been up to. on: April 06, 2017, 10:59:25 AM
Apparently, Jihan Wu has been covertly using some patented exploit called asicboost to gain 20%+ efficiency on his hardware that’s incompatible with SegWit. It all makes sense now. Hope he gets his ass sued off.

Shills care to chime in?

https://lists.linuxfoundation.org/pipermail/bitcoin-dev/2017-April/013996.html

Really I'm not surprised. The first (Jihan Wu) it is sure that he wants to promote this very new asic hardware. The second one is an entrepreneur and no impression will not for me if he is trying to increase his property, because of the turmoil created by a potential hardfork. Probably he has invested in some altcoins and wants to increase their price keeping the bitcoin price in low level. The truth is that they do not give a penny about the acceptance or development bitcoin.
218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trying the new Bitcoin ATM near my house on: April 06, 2017, 10:45:58 AM
People many times prefer to buy or sale bitcoin using the cryptocurrencies ATMs, usually because they afraid the person to person transactions, but unfortunately the rate there is very high. In my area there are 2 atm where the buy is kraken or average price plus 8%. Therefore for me is better to use an exchange like this in my signature.
219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are bitcoins more secure then Swiss bank? on: April 05, 2017, 07:43:31 PM
Just wondering...

Satisfying your curiosity, I will disappoint you but the Swiss banks are not the safest in the world. In reality the classification index changes every year or strictly speaking this index changes since one or more of the Big Three credit rating agencies  Fitch, S&P, and Moody's  The 17 safest banks in the world decide to change the rating of any financial institution. But for your information according to the link the 1st, 3rd and 4th banks with higher rating are located in Germany and only the 2nd one in Switzerland.
220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin scaling: Looks like all roads lead to LTC on: April 05, 2017, 04:53:46 PM
LTC has its biggest purpose to date in getting segwit on bitcoin. The BU team will be trying hard to stop this im guessing, they should just give up now though.

I would like to see segwit to be activated for LTC even though there are no many everyday transactions as @alyssa85 already stated. Maybe is a good way for people without deep technological background and experience like me to end up with their own practical conclusions.
