681  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Drugs with Bitcoin ? on: January 03, 2017, 01:51:55 PM
Now that the price of bitcoin continues the rally to cross the ATH of 1124 dollars had reached in November 2013 the media worldwide will remember its existence and start to talk about it. I am almost sure they would say that is a bubble. They will also say that it is used for all illegal activities, one of them is the buy/sale of drugs, and at the end media will close saying that the price will crash as happened in December 2013.
682  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Happy 8th Birthday Bitcoin on: January 03, 2017, 01:29:35 PM
When bitcoin was created the most optimistic supporters could not foresee its current price. On the contrary, I have the view that they would expect a greater adoption worldwide as payment system for goods or services instead of the way most of us we use it today; that is as a commodity for hoarding only. Anyway happy, 8th birthday bitcoin!

684  Economy / Economics / Re: Why have Bitcoin instead of cash? on: January 03, 2017, 12:22:52 PM
Bitcoin will replace cash in the near future. We are living in the digital world and everybody are now using smart devices.
that is a good condition to help us use bitcoin as cash. payment online by bitcoin is very useful and fast. it helps us save time and money.
We do not wait for long time to accept payment as like traditional currency. I like bitcoin very much.

I don't see that happening in the future, bitcoin will still be the best alternative for cash. The government will always pursue to let us use our own currency and since we are oblige to follow the rules, they can easily make a rule about bitcoin and will force us to patronize our own. It's the weakness of bitcoin when it comes to government interference as bitcoin is decentralized.

Bitcoin being decentralized isn't a weakness to governments, it's a strength against them. It means there's nothing they can do. That's the beauty of it. They can try to fight it, but they would be smarter to support it, which is also scary at the same time because of the potential that this technology has. I personally think bitcoin will lead us to a financial revolution the world has yet to see.

We are far away bitcoin will dominate the world. Banks will fight it and their plans include creation of their coins using centralized blockchains. Till now banks and governments follow "wait and see" strategy because bitcoin supporters are a small percentage compared the worldwide population. Banks will not keep their fingers crossed if they see a mass people's adoption to crypto - currencies.
685  Economy / Economics / Re: The Big Rip of Bitcoin on: January 03, 2017, 11:18:57 AM
No, It must not happen at the present unless we are not living in the digital world.
I can say the big rip of traditional currency in near future. I have owned some bitcoins and I love it.
cheer up with high price.

I agree with you. Everywhere in the world governments in cooperation with banks try to restrict paper money. Therefore I believe that in nearby future after the big-rip of paper money people will use credit/debit cards and web banking. After this transitional period people will use not only bitcoin but many cryptocurrencies in everyday transactions. People will have different wallets with bitcoin and alt coins to use according to their needs.

Let's take the things from start. If this forum has idiots members then why did you join in?  Has you ever think about it? Before register this forum did you spend some time to read a few of the posts? If you bothered by the signature campaigns why not to turn off as BitcoinBarrel proposed?
687  Economy / Economics / Re: How to deal with the "bitcoin has no physical existence" argument? on: January 03, 2017, 09:05:26 AM
It depends the people you are speaking to. That is, older people they understand only if they have money in their pockets or down of their mattresses. The younger one can understand that debit cards and web banking is money even though these are only numbers without physical form. Imo only people younger than the middle age will be the most supporters of crypto currencies
688  Economy / Economics / Re: So I made some calculations today on: January 03, 2017, 08:28:59 AM
Bitcoin will worth more then gold one day when it mainstream as you can store more bitcoins then gold as good take time and effort to story buy and sell when bitcoins ate digital so takes less time effect and space.
Bitcoin is much better than gold in many ways, it has a faster rising value which makes it a very good short term investment, the gold on the other hand just rises slowly but it will never go down, and people trust it because they have used it for many years now, unlike bitcoin which is a new thing but hopefully it will become more popular in the future.

This is generally not applicable. The price of gold goes up and down, not as bitcoin's price but if anybody sees the price of gold globally will notice that sometimes descends and is natural in buy/sell markets. In cases of financial instability the price rises, while when there are better prospect for development and more money are invested then it goes down. Always the objective is a trade-off between fiat and gold
689  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will China’s $50,000 Quota Matter For Bitcoin After Jan.1? on: January 03, 2017, 06:40:38 AM
As the first day of January 2017 approaches, concerns that the yuan will likely depreciate further in the coming year because of the Chinese government’s enforced capital control may force more users seeking to move money out of the country to Bitcoin.

January 1 is when the yearly $50,000 limit that the Chinese government permits citizens as the amount of money individuals can move out of the country in a year comes to effect. This measure enables many Chinese to pull their money out of China.

http://news.8btc.com/will-chinas-50000-quota-matter-for-bitcoin-after-jan-1

It is very likely. It is perhaps one of the reasons that we see a continued increase in the price of bitcoin but and for some alt-coins too. If also apply what article writes about $10000 quotas to my point of view is almost certain any further increase of bitcoin's price.
690  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many % fee do you pay to convert to fiat? on: January 03, 2017, 06:23:49 AM
In my country there is not an exchange from bitcoin to fiat except if any body uses an ATM machine. If anybody wants a more permanent cooperation then uses Kraken and the rest of exchanges. Others they use cards (load in btc and withdraw to fiat). So it's usual most times face to face deal with trusted persons or using banks (SEPA, Web banking).

692  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you regret spending money on this year? on: January 02, 2017, 11:03:36 PM
As always, all my purchases are attentive and conservatively planned. In this way, I moved last year when I bought bitcoins. Perhaps I should sometimes be more risky. In this case I had more fiat money to afford and I could have to buy more If I believed on the potential of the bitcoin. On the other side who can surely predict the future events?
693  Economy / Economics / Re: panic selling on: January 02, 2017, 10:22:23 PM
This moment the preev price of bitcoin is about $1012 and the OPs question is more timely than ever. There are many people among them and I who I believe that a serious correction of btc is near to come. Moreover, there are people had as barrier to sell their coins at  $1000. Therefore are there any clues to think that maybe we have panic climate of the sellers
694  Economy / Speculation / Re: Breaking: Bitcoin OFFICIALLY touches $1,000 on: January 02, 2017, 07:26:10 PM
Waiting

Many will lose heart as it happens. Just wait for one exchange to be hacked.

p.s. I'd call this price sustainable if global hash power rises in the same rate as of the price. That would push up the actual production cost of bitcoin.

It is quite obvious to expect the news of a big time hack happening in an exchange whenever the price touches high values and in the year 2016 we have  seen a dozen hacks which really hampered the price and it really took a long time to recover from that slump and since the price crossed the four digit hurdle i do expect a big rally before settling down.

Can anyone say where base his hopes about a rally from now after this price? All of this rise of the price last month was a rally wasn't it? Are there any reasons except these we all know about India, China and Venezuela to advocate for a rally now? What would happened if big players decide to create a climate of panic and massively start to to sell their bitcoins?
695  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think BTC will hit 2000 USD feb 17 on: January 02, 2017, 06:27:37 PM
No, in my point of view is difficult for bitcoin to continue its skyrocket way. I believe that now is time for a serious correction. Have passed about 8 years from genesis block and nowadays bitcoin is mature enough to have a more stable behavior. We must not forget bitcoin is mainly a currency and secondly an asset. A very expensive currency would not be selected by masses worldwide.
696  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how much do you think keeping logs is effective in gambling? on: January 02, 2017, 11:58:46 AM
recently i have started keeping logs of all my bets in an excel spread sheet so that i can see how much i am gambling each month in total and at the end of the month i can tell if i was successful or not.

how many of you are doing the same as i am?

I think that you play dice and casino games aren't you? I usually gamble in sport games and I keep logs not only to see btcs win or lose but which teams, I prefer soccer, are profitable. So I adjust my bets dividing teams as low, mid and high risk and according my predictions I change my bet.

698  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto profit of the 2016 - Final version on: January 02, 2017, 11:37:56 AM
I am not surprised from Monero's price and I believe that was expected in cryptocurrency world. Some users has characterized it as "anon-coin" because none can doubt that its best feature is anonymity. Imho monero is one of the most highly promising altcoins in the future.
699  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcointalk Account price estimator on: January 01, 2017, 04:01:02 PM
I used some times before and working like a charm. Unfortunately, today this project does not working anymore. I tried 4 or more times, I cleared the cache memory (I am using Firefox last version) but with no success. Does anybody faces same problem or is mine and something I have to do in order to fix it?
