1281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Reasons Coins Are Pumped Now Vs Reasons They Are Not on: May 13, 2017, 08:33:35 PM
We are in a crypto bubble that started last year. Of course, money will flow into alts as many new "investors and speculators" come in. But whenever BTC price rises rapidly, some traders hedge their alts by buying back bitcoins while others chase pumps whenever they are.

The point is this may lasts longer than expected, but we should always stay vigilant. I think this was the bubble many old timers expected last 2014.
But unlike every time, when bitcoin price rises, most of the altcoins dump, this bubble seems to get altcoins standing on a solid ground — they didn't dump hard as usual, instead, they were stagnant (or dipped a little) for a while, then continued to rise again after bitcoin price settled (something I wasn't expecting).

Either if it's higher demands for altcoins, or a made bubble, it's a good way to make some profits. Cheesy
1282  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Vaccinated vs. Unvaccinated: Guess who is Sicker? on: May 11, 2017, 12:14:39 AM
LOL, this poll is so true. When I was a kid, Every time we got vaccinated at school, I got sick (with the same disease I was vaccinated to fight). Hell, even my mother told me to escape school on the day of vaccination, after I got sick so many times. After that I never got sick again, except being sick of Cold or Flu.

Hahahaha hahahaha

Besides not being vaccinated yet fleeing from school.... ha ha ha

In my country vaccines save people's lives

Vaccines were obligatory where I live. You attend school, you get vaccinated, no matter what. So I would rather 'flee and don't get vaccinated' than to 'almost die' from a vaccine.

Dude... You're a genius.
Man that's the very basic idea of vaccins...
You get the disease but the disease will be too weak to actually hurt you...

If you get badly sick after vaccin it means that you would most certainly die if catching the disease without vaccin...
WOW. Am I too stupid, or are you too smart, 'genius'?
Why the fuck would I want to get vaccinated to get sick of the same disease later? What about not catching it at all?!
A simple example for you: I live in a Muslim country, we don't even have a single freaking pig; yet I got sick of Swine Flu (which wasn't even 1,000 miles near my region) after being vaccinated at school... And every time I got 'badly sick,' I was wishing to die rather than living the pain (it's like being almost dead. If that what vaccine does, then I don't want it).
I have been lucky that I had a smart mother with a great knowledge of natural herbs (otherwise I would have been dead).

1284  Economy / Exchanges / Re: how many time it takes to confirm btc payment in coinbase? on: May 10, 2017, 12:43:41 AM
actually one of my friend send me some btc through coinbase almost 6 hours ago...but still it shows pending to my coinbase wallet...is it ok  Huh  Huh
Probably hasn't received all the confirmations that Coinbase requires, it is likely he had a low fee on it and it will take a little while for the transaction to be fully confirmed.

It's fine and will likely be confirmed within the next day at most, more than likely a shorter time than that since it's been waiting for a while. I don't know how big the queue is but there's a solid chance that it isn't really big and the miners are still chewing through transactions ahead of it.

Probably going to take a ton of time as the amount of time you're stating is probably showing that you're friend send the TX (Transaction Fee) really low, so it's going to take a long time / never confirm depending on the amount of fee he/she set. You may even want to check if the money was ever sent or if it's arrived in your Coinbase account and hasen't been confirmed.

If I were you, I'd put the TX here so some people can try to run it through a TX accelerator which could help to get it confirmed ASAP.

Goodluck
Both of you should stop blabbering about shit you can barely comprehend. Firstly, transactions between two Coisbase accounts don't take fees. Secondly, TX accelerator doesn't work with online wallets' transactions since Coinbase already rebroadcasts its transactions. Thirdly, Coinbase transactions take long time because they get queued to be confirmed.

For OP, this might be a reason why your transaction hasn't been there yet – https://blockchain.info/en/unconfirmed-transactions According to this: https://support.coinbase.com/customer/en/portal/articles/593836-why-is-my-transaction-pending-?b_id=13521
1285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][QAU] QUANTUM PROJECT - Connecting markets on: May 10, 2017, 12:10:34 AM
I really didn't understand why was my previous messaged ignored. I invested few coins i wanted to know what will be the price when it is live on the market aka after ico?

I think it is being ignored because it is really easy to answer your question. You need to explore more further the website because the answer to your question is there. It is not on the Whitepaper but it is on the FAQ (Frequently Asked Qiestions). It is said that the presale price will be $.05.
I pretty much think that you missed his point. His question is different from your answer. A question I was wondering about as well – He is asking how much the Quantum token will be worth after the pre-sale ends — when it hits the exchanges (not how much it costs to buy a Quantum token at the moment).
1286  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: A service for altcoins on: May 09, 2017, 11:39:07 PM
Is there any website, software, or service that shows the prices of altcoins on multiple exchanges? No need for it to be live or to include all altcoins (Top 50-100 would be OK) – I just want to know which exchange sells a specific coin for higher price. Even if it was paid.
Is this service even remotely enough for your needs: https://www.cryptocompare.com/coins/#/btc
It show over 500 top coins (probably more but I stopped counting there) and exchange used to trade these coins.

Do you need something else?
This website provides information more than enough for me actually, It is exactly what I wanted. Well, I just can't thank you enough.

1288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One of many reasons why I love bitcoin on: May 08, 2017, 12:14:17 PM
The prices have increased significantly and if you have more than just $7 of Bitcoin in 2014,you may become the billionaire in 2017. WEll, good luck to everyone on the plan of getting rich. Right now I will invest some of my money into altcoin
Imagine if he was an early adopter of Bitcoin (2008-2009), that $7 would worth more than $5550 now, that is 79,285% Return of investment, which is CRAZY. I wish I knew Bitcoin back then  Cry Cry
1289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: A question on: May 08, 2017, 11:49:26 AM
What escaped most people:
Dogecoin after Bitcoin has the largest userbase and on-chain-traffic. It's pretty much the only altcoin that has a real and solid userbase.

Hashrate is reasonably high, it held a somewhat decent marketcap troughout and never had any problems with contentious hardforks. It had to happen. Actually doge should be one of the coins most deserving of a pump. I think your question is strange. Did you not see that coming?

From looking at the fundamentals this was clear as day - and it'll happen again and again. Doge isn't going to die anytime soon.
I know – Dogecoin is the most used altcoin after Bitcoin due to its relatively stable small price. It became an awesome way to tip people or transact a small amount of Bitcoins without high fees. I know it deserves a pump, but why not last year? Why not two years ago? Why specifically now? Is there more demand, development processing, or adoption?
1290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Give me your buy, sell or neutral ratings on the following cryptocurrencies: on: May 08, 2017, 11:18:23 AM
Bitcoin - Hold (The best investment ever, why would you sell?!)
Ethereum - Buy
Ripple - Hold (If you can't buy more – it will be worth more in the near future)
Litecoin - Sell (Why the hell would you buy a hard pumped coin 'from 0.003BTC to 0.019BTC!')
NEM -Buy
Dash - Hold
Ethereum Classic - Neutral
Monero - Buy (It's a big buy!)
Golem - Sell
Augur - Sell
Dogecoin - Hold
MaidSafeCoin - Buy while it's still cheap
Steem - Neutral
Zcash - Hold
Factom - Sell
Decred - Buy (Potential pump in the near future)
PIVX - Buy

I just modified your list to suit the current values at the markets.

1292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / A question on: May 08, 2017, 11:00:38 AM
Why after almost 4 years has Dogecoin pumped reasonably hard? I mean in the past four years, its price was always around 18-22 satoshis, but in this year specifically, it has pumped up to 83-86 satoshis, which is 300% profit for holders. What is the reason behind that pump? And why now?
1293  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Whats the best exchange for Alt coins in the UK (with GBP)? on: May 07, 2017, 02:24:05 PM
Thanks FlamingFingers

Did you use any of those exchanges?

I am now beginning to think its better to buy a bitcoin and use that to trade on Poloniex.
Yeah, I used Kraken for a bit, but it's not beginner-friendly (though it's a huge exchange considering its trading volumes).

Well, do whatever you see fits you the most. But indeed – buying Bitcoin and using it to trade is always the easiest thing to do.
1294  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Whats the best exchange for Alt coins in the UK (with GBP)? on: May 07, 2017, 02:16:14 PM
Hi all,
I'd like to invest in alt coins. Can any one help me choose an exchange and a wallet please?

There are quit a lot of exchanges that deal with GBP including but not limited to:
- Kraken: https://www.kraken.com/
- CoinsBank: https://coinsbank.com/
- Coinfloor: https://coinfloor.co.uk/
Also there is a relatively new exchange site for GBP pairs only, it's called CryptoMate, link: https://cryptomate.co.uk/ (though I don't know if it's legit or not).
Wallets depend on alternative coins – there isn't a specific wallet for all altcoins.

Quote
My understanding is, I deposit GBP into an exchange account, buy whatever I want and then move it to a wallet to store it there. Please can someone confirm if this is right ?
Yes, that's right, especially in long-term investments.

Quote
I plan to start trading with a small amount of money.
Always a good idea.

Thank you.

Do I incur commission etc when I buy bitcoin and then again when I trade it to buy alt currency?

Is there a limit to the amount I can buy in a single transaction or day?

Yes, you incur commissions on any trade. There are limitations, if your account is not verified. Some exchanges don't even allow you to trade without verification. Once it is verified, you will be free to trade with any amount of money.
1295  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain wallet sucks on: May 07, 2017, 01:54:30 PM
You can use the blockchain wallet on your smart phone, I think it is very safe to use a blockchain wallet or otherwise like a coinbase wallet
Online wallets are never secure nor safe – you don't hold complete control over your Bitcoins, hence, there is always a chance that you will lose your funds (due to hacks, bugs, malwares, etc.). Better use an offline wallet, OP. It's much more secure and you have control over your coins – something like Bitcoin Core (if you can bear/handle downloading more than 60GBs), or use a light wallet like Electrum.
1296  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin To Soon Reach $1700 on: May 07, 2017, 01:35:33 PM
Passing all that spam on the later pages. To OP, we shall all wait and see what will happen on May 15th, instead of speculating the price being pumped or dumped. On that day, either the price will jump to $1700 or dump to $1200 (more or less).

Do any of you think that BTC is becoming a growing bubble right now thats ready to burst? I dont think the whole BTC economy is not enough to sustain the growth of its currency. Did something big really happen in the BTC economy to answer for the high value of Bitcoin?
Yes, Bigger volumes of Bitcoin demands. And also wait for the summer, Bitcoin will dump there. We should all hold hands and sing Summer Time Sadness.
1297  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Le Pen Wins on: May 07, 2017, 01:14:28 PM
Le Pen will support the legalization bitcoin?

I don't know. But I think she will be more sympathetic than Macron on the issue of Bitcoin. Macron is known to have good relations with the banking sector. He will never legalize BTC. With Le Pen, at least we can hope.

Are you so sure about Le Pen's 'sympathy' for Bitcoin more than the 'banker' – Macron? Because this doesn't seem to me like sympathy at all, she hates the digital crypto currency world as a whole, not to mention Bitcoin.

If she wins, another dictator will be added to the world, eh..
1298  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Richmond Berks LEGIT or SCAM?? on: May 07, 2017, 01:03:13 PM
if you check the office address at UTAH using google maps...it only a empty building view...nothing there
real estate industry is very complicated specially in indonesia...many paperwork need to be fullfil also goverment/regional issue

If you know that much, and also can search about what you are investing into, why do you require anyone's opinion? Actually you just told people who don't know about it that the site is scam. Plus, never trust any High Yielding Investment Program (HYIP), no matter what they provide, the idea is based on scam (or Ponzi scheme).
1299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ViaBTC: Should we active Segwit? on: May 07, 2017, 12:06:35 PM
So 5,369 votes and it seems that SegWit is the most favored. 83% out of these (4,456 votes, more or less) are supporting Segwit, while the other 17% are not. Seems people want this to be settled. Well, thanks for pointing this poll out, Lauda.
1300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ViaBTC: Should we active Segwit? on: May 06, 2017, 08:13:41 PM
So there are 821 Votes for Yes, and 181 votes for No to implement SegWit. But do you really think they are going to take that poll into consideration for supporting SegWit? Because I don't think so (though I have voted). When money speaks, all the other noises turn to silence.
