322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Need help!h110 pro btc+ problem on: May 24, 2018, 03:13:22 AM
run GPU-z and see under statistic there is tab with real clock, GPU power and reason why the GPU is "capped" that might help
there is few reason why driver would drop clock, temp, power, windows utilization...

GT 710 is way to old and does not support new miners, even if it worked it would burn more power then profit

also some miners are build only for 64bit systems
326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Guide build 1 Masternode to get 50% PMC coin from miner! on: May 22, 2018, 04:31:32 AM

329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Windows update anyone else got wrecked? on: May 16, 2018, 12:48:54 AM
@adaseb
You are wrong, I have dozen of mining rigs and 1000+ I administrate and never ever one updated itself alone, its always noob fault

Sure I use only pro version so I can disable update the right way (gpedit.msc and change automatic update policy!)
330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Windows update anyone else got wrecked? on: May 15, 2018, 10:21:55 PM
The quickest permanent fix is to reimage with a proper linux mining OS.

Mining in Windows is like taking the short bus to school...sure it gets you there, but everyone else will be laughing at you ( and profiting over you )
nah i have 30 rigs all win 10 , never had a problem
liniux is way more anoying to me.

windows u just have to know what you are doing and disable the right stuff

I have 350 Windows rigs and 1300 Linux rigs. I can tell you it takes more support time to keep those 350 running than the entire lot of 1300 rigs.

Not sure how using the proper tool is annoying. Learning stimulates the brain, give it a try Cheesy

Not true at all, on Windows 10 you almost NEVER have a need to update, only thing you need updating is your GPU driver if you move to new miner!
On linux if you compile from source you need TONS of updates all the time! even when using bins you will have dozen of compatibility issues
I use both system for mining, and sure if you are expert in linux you can automate updates, etc but that ask you know a lot about linux, on Windows you just need to know how to disable update and that ALL, sorry to hear some ppl don`t know even to do that on proper way! I just can imagine them in linux (well I can`t it would not work at all)  Grin

Also I agree if you have programmers work for you and system admins automating linux is almost with no limit so that can help a lot, but those kind of support have only big evil farms as jihan and such Wink
331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ccminer 2.2.5 - opensource - GPL (tpruvot) on: May 13, 2018, 10:38:54 AM
Those cards are just too old, you would burn more power then hash.... they would be like 95% slower then new ones

and no you can not update old ccminer even if you knew how to, the code need to be rewritten for old cards
332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: May 10, 2018, 12:21:20 AM
If you knew what you mine and how x16r works, you would not state top speed at all...
333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: May 09, 2018, 10:01:30 PM
I will upload a fixed version soon.

I am waiting a few days.

So do you want me to wait on testing for a few days?

I've read through the thread (though I admit not every bit of it) and I'm very surprised to see nobody has been concerned about whether this executable does any funky things like ever connect to the Internet at any point, read any files off disk, etc? Has anyone monitored it (long enough) for any of those things?

Looks nice, but all of a sudden someone anonymous just deciding to help everyone by providing a closed source executable should normally raise just a healthy dose of suspicion.

I heard ver said it is killing babies

I did not know that it use FP64 as none usual algo does
338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Open Source XPM (Primecoin) GPU Miner & Pool xpmforall.org on: May 06, 2018, 07:08:41 PM
Had issue with CUDA version even if it submiting shares, pool did not see it, some 12h ago
address: AX1BYX5hK1ZSfQQZSCwWMC8PNsnkja4Kwe

opencl version now works

I guess cuda version is straight port of opencl as I expect NV GTX1070 to be 2x faster then AMD 290x, but I guess prime sieve/algo is so complex no one wants to dig it
339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: decentralization my a$$ on: May 03, 2018, 10:01:08 PM
POS from start is insane, its 100% flawed and centralized...... maybe in future we will have better system but atm POW is best with all flaws it has
340  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Zealot/Enemy (z-enemy) NVIDIA GPU miner. on: May 03, 2018, 03:49:50 AM
Hi, apparently, theses releases don't respect the GPL licence, your software is based on ccminer code, open source and free software under GPL v3 Licence.

Your have to release the licence source code of your releases, without that, your releases are not legit/legal, it's WAREZ.

Actually your asking fee, but you theft the code for your own profit and keep what you have added for your own profit too, this is bad, and selfish, if your don't release the source code, including your own added code. Please respect the work of original dev's, comply with the law, free software has licenses like any proprietary software, acting in a manner contrary to these licenses equates your actions to piracy, counterfeiting.
If your don't, GPL violation will then have to react to enforce the law.

Thanks

The GNU General Public License is a free, copyleft license for software and other kinds of works.

The licenses for most software and other practical works are designed to take away your freedom to share and change the works. By contrast, the GNU General Public License is intended to guarantee your freedom to share and change all versions of a program--to make sure it remains free software for all its users. We, the Free Software Foundation, use the GNU General Public License for most of our software; it applies also to any other work released this way by its authors. You can apply it to your programs, too.

When we speak of free software, we are referring to freedom, not price. Our General Public Licenses are designed to make sure that you have the freedom to distribute copies of free software (and charge for them if you wish), that you receive source code or can get it if you want it, that you can change the software or use pieces of it in new free programs, and that you know you can do these things.

To protect your rights, we need to prevent others from denying you these rights or asking you to surrender the rights. Therefore, you have certain responsibilities if you distribute copies of the software, or if you modify it: responsibilities to respect the freedom of others.

For example, if you distribute copies of such a program, whether gratis or for a fee, you must pass on to the recipients the same freedoms that you received. You must make sure that they, too, receive or can get the source code. And you must show them these terms so they know their rights.

Developers that use the GNU GPL protect your rights with two steps: (1) assert copyright on the software, and (2) offer you this License giving you legal permission to copy, distribute and/or modify it.

For the developers' and authors' protection, the GPL clearly explains that there is no warranty for this free software. For both users' and authors' sake, the GPL requires that modified versions be marked as changed, so that their problems will not be attributed erroneously to authors of previous versions.

Some devices are designed to deny users access to install or run modified versions of the software inside them, although the manufacturer can do so. This is fundamentally incompatible with the aim of protecting users' freedom to change the software. The systematic pattern of such abuse occurs in the area of products for individuals to use, which is precisely where it is most unacceptable. Therefore, we have designed this version of the GPL to prohibit the practice for those products. If such problems arise substantially in other domains, we stand ready to extend this provision to those domains in future versions of the GPL, as needed to protect the freedom of users.

Finally, every program is threatened constantly by software patents. States should not allow patents to restrict development and use of software on general-purpose computers, but in those that do, we wish to avoid the special danger that patents applied to a free program could make it effectively proprietary. To prevent this, the GPL assures that patents cannot be used to render the program non-free.

The precise terms and conditions for copying, distribution and modification follow.
