I wish we can have a feature that would automatically convert our NEM to USD for purchases online.
Like buying stuff on ebay and amazon. Wouldn't that be a ground breaking CRYPTO. Lets make it happen DEV team. What do you think of that Utopianfuture is it even possible

It would be best if you could pay with NEM on amazon and ebay Wink
We need to stop thinking of FIATs as the standard that we'll always have to live with. We need to get away from it and embrace cryptos as the future.

NEM to FIAT is a good idea, but for NEM to be successful, we need retailers to start accepting NEM.

Imagine if the CEO of Amazon said alright, as of tomorrow, we're adding NEM, Sharecoin, and maybe a handful
of other coins. We need to steer away from FIAT.

The future is bright :-)

Considering the valuation of Darkcoin, It's blatently apparent to me that privacy is a legitimate and real concern across all people who use crypto's - and honestly, it makes perfect sense. Bitcoin after all, has most value on the deep web which likely consists of less then legal use. There's also the entire topic of "decentralization" and breaking free from the prying eyes of governing bodies.

I can't help but wonder if this is something the dev team for NEM have taken into deep consideration, because all the signs point to demand for a more anonymous platform.

In most countries anonymous financial transactions fall under money laundering laws and legal business won't touch it and yes bitcoin txs are traceable.

due to nem having an asset exchange.. i think the best way to go about this is target the large companies and try and get them to launch their shares on the asset exchange..

this way the company must pay dividends to buyers of shares in nem(most likely) so how do they acquire nem to pay dividends? through profits from shares(which will run out), accepting nem as payment for their goods or services, or by buying them.. the cheapest way would be to accept them as payment.. if you can get even one very large company to launch shares it will give great exposure to nem... and will give it legitimacy in the eyes of the smaller retailers!

To have a large company use our asset exchange would be great for NEM. It will also be good for them, it will demonstrate to all their potential shareholders that they are forward-thinking and willing to take a risk to invest in the future. Also, businesses that are too small to qualify to be on a conventional stock exchange will use our asset exchange. I can see a ton of small mom and pop operations using the asset exchange, not only to raise capital, but to promote their business to a far greater audience.  NEM's asset exchange will be the new crowd-funding 2.0

I think a pure anonymous currency will never make it through the digital age. As sad as it is - the regulators will always fuck it up. I think if they could remove cash - they would. I myself have gone through the lengthy process of truly anonymizing bitcoin multiple times and boy would I have loved an easier solution but I just don't see it being accepted.

I do however think that services can to their part in respecting privacy and that is something we can enforce for NEM (once we have a bit of leverage).
We can also still add anonymous payments to NEM. It's not something that you either implement at start or forget about it.

Lets wait for the devs to come back to us for technological roadmap.  The price of NEM will largely depend on the features of this coin.  One thing is certain, the community of 3000 is already backing this coin.  Its now in the ball of the developers and marketers.

I haven't been on in a while. But just want to say that I'm really excited about Nem, and will make the effort to participate more. Even if just mentioning it to people in my daily life.
