This is a really old thread.  The group buy that was being organized was shut down when it was discovered that you could buy the same miner including shipping from a vendor for the same money that the group buy was being organized for here.  And the vendor selling it at that price is known for large markups so people got wind that there was a massive markup here also... So the group buy was shut down. 

I would think people on this forum would know by now these "group buys" that are being organized by certain people are just vendor "reseller" activities and are not some sort of special deal for our community.  The community most of the time is getting ripped off.

Baikal changes the price every time you ask them right now.  Last I saw they raised the price again now it is back up to $2900.  I have seen one reseller selling for $2600.  If we were to organize a group buy we could probably get them down to $1900-2000 per unit, but I don't know if they are even worth that much at the moment.

So that is the scoop at the moment.

I am 100%in agreement with Longsnowsm. I bought 7 miner from the last Supposedly gruopbuy @3000 usd each and when the news was leaked by some forum member that asicminermarket is selling same miner for 2600 usd the groupbuy was suddenly vanished in thin air. I bough 6 more from the asicminermarket @2600 usd. Atleast asicminermarket is upfront selling us these miners as a commercial entity not in the disguise of Groupbuy. I will never do bussiness with Bittawin in future.

On related topic, just think of the new Giant+ as a x13, x14, x15, Qubit, Quark miner. That way, all the x11 mega-hash players won't effect you... lol

Also IF I remember correctly? (correct me if I am wrong). Baikal units when they first came out only did x11. Thus bitmain may pull that rabbit out
of its hat and offer x13,x14,x15 as a patch also to mine.

Then again, being Bitmain..they could just say FU and not.....(its how we roll ..bitmain:tm: We do evil well!)

Anyway, my view this is a likely upgrade for Bitmain's D3's

even with D3 Arrival delay ....just can't see it

this is also what I think but it depends everything on the price. I wouldn't buy it for 3K. No way.

The price you will pay with Bittawm is roughly the price you will pay at a vendor that has a big markup.  If you want to buy one of these right now and are willing to pay the huge markup then hit ups https://asicminermarket.com/

I have not bought anything from them, but I have heard others have.  Baikal has lost their mind with pricing and they are all over the map.  Last I heard was $2900 which is a complete fraud when you can go to a vendor who is known for massive markups is selling for less.

At this point there is no reasonable ROI scenario at those prices.  I have tried in the past to reach out to Baikal to setup a group buy here and it has become a waste of time.  Unless of course you don't mind throwing your money away.

For those who think they are going to ROI on these before the X11 miners ship you need to rework your calculations because you couldn't be more wrong.  At 2gh on X11 on Nicehash right now you would be lucky to make $10-11 a day and that is falling fast.  So you think you can ROI before the other X11 miners ship?  You need to rework your numbers, something is wrong with your calculator.

so raising the price $800 bucks from the last time I asked a couple weeks ago is the solution!

So figure a week to ship...that is 1st week in September...assuming they can do so (did not ask ..just left after that price)

I supposedly will have my 2nd batch 2.6k usd D3 Bitmain unit at 15gh arrive around Sept 15th -25th

Sadly X11 profitability is sinking fast and even worse all the other algo's that Baikal mines have sunk even faster.  It is really sad. 

Yet I still see the cheerleaders over on the D3 threat pumping their fists about how profitability does not fall in proportion to the diff and the monster money they are going to make...

They obviously are not mining Baikal miners today on X11... At this point I don't know if my Gaint's will be worth running by the end of the year.  Get a Giant+?  Only double what the Giant is doing isn't going to fare much better. 

Unless Baikal has a big boy miner in the works they are in trouble.
