Congratulate to Block's success with its Lightning node.
9.7% RTP! wow, it making Lightning nodes attractive option for everyone, very soon more entities will participate i think.
I just noticed its capacity is approx 185 BTC, strong enough to supporting LN's infrastructure

This initiative is great for promoting Bitcoin's utility in daily transactions. evolution of LN in commercial sector has brought some positive changes.
Block could provide resources and structure to expand network . As base layer becomes more and more overloaded tx fee can keep on rising , efficient Layer 2 solution like LN will be a must.
so you mention LN as "solution" to bitcoin "tx fee can keep on rising".. straight after celebrating that a LN node is making more profits from LN fee's
i was talking years ago about how LN would at some point flip from utility for users to pay for things cheaper(that idea has been stagnant for years now). to become a campaign/concept for middlemen to make fee profits via raising fee's and other gaming of the system..
.. and it appears we are at this moment
but hey, if you cant celebrate the utility of users wanting LN for cheap fee's, then flip the script and celebrate the nodes profit made by the less than cheap fee's
as Oprah would say "you get APR, you get APR, everyone gets APR"
(and yes over the years i have for funzies, targetted some nodes/channels and played out scenarios and observed how easy it is to mess with nodes on LN)But Frankie, it doesn't make any sense what you're saying. If it's more expensive to do a lightning transaction, the people will just use on chain transactions for cheaper.
And from my perspective, in the use of lightning that I have done, that's exactly how it works. If I make a deposit on kraken via lightning, I can do it more cheaply, but if I'm going to make a very large deposit and the fees would have been higher, then I can just send it on chain.
If lightning ends up being more expensive than on-chain transactions, then it will not be used. Your argument is nonsensical.
This node almost certainly made that return by doing giant amounts of transactions and charging very little, rather than charging a whole lot for a smaller number of transactions. Because if it were the latter, people would stop using it. Do you not have a brain cell or two?
