To increase the lulz factor of this thread, could you please update the first post (or another post, whatever) from time to time with the total amount of all bets you have accepted?
I am doing it already in #bitcoin. I don't think it's necessary to do it in the thread. I want to surprise everyone when it hits 10,000BTC. Yeah, it'd be good to see who owes what actually. Might make things easier later on.
There are some private wagers who want to be private, mostly because they are embarrassed pirate investors who want to hedge. For that reason I can't. |

I'm pretty sure that the bet is 1:1, as was clarified early in the thread. That is to say, if you put up 10 BTC, he would pay 10 BTC (thus giving 100% ROI). I may be wrong on betting lingo, though. Even with that said, though, someone willing to put up ~$100,000 against what many people feel is a "sure thing" is almost certainly not shooting blind, but that's what makes this interesting. I'm in on the bet to hedge against Pirate, as well as to just have some more fun in the $#!%storm that will develop in the next couple of weeks. SOMEONE BRING ME SOME POPCORN! |
