Hey, I cracked when theymos posted his bet. I already have a bet on betsofbitco.in though....

I hope I'm wrong! I hope everyone gets their coins back. I'm sick of all the "i told you so's" and other bullshit being spewn around right now. Nothing worth reading on the forum at the moment.
I pondered tossing 1 in whne I saw that as well, just for the heck of it.

I agree, not much else to read. So, I've been calculated just how much extra of a haircut S R vendors have been taking by using 'hedged' sales while the prices are going up. ;p

hint; It's a fucking lot. =)

Mostly I'm just bitter I don't have enough posts to take Matthew's money.

If you really want to play a high risk investment that badly and truely have the BTC to withhold a bet, I will vouch for you. Within reason. Not going to cover 100BTC for someone I do not know, sorry.

If you're not excited by the idea of being an early adopter 'now', then you should come back in three or four years and either tell us "Told you it'd never work!" or join what should, by then, be a much more stable and easier-to-use system.

Since Matt will be locking the thread in 24 hours I am offering a Matt Crazy Bet Passthrough  (MCBPT).
In honor of how asininely stupid the Pirate Passthrough were you can wager by proxy if you want.

Has Matt turned down your bet for insufficient rep?
Want to wager more than the max (250 BTC)?
Want to wager anonymously so nobody will laugh at you if you lose ("team PONZI idiot")?

For a low fee of 5%, D&T is proud to present the Matt Crazy Bet Passthrough (MCBPT).

How to wager indirectly.
1) Drop me a PM with the amount you want to wager and a refund address (in case I can't place your wager)
2) I will give you a unique deposit address.
3) Deposit the funds you wish to wager before 2PM EST.
4) At 2PM EST I will place the combined amount in a wager against Matt.
5a) If we lose well that's it.
5b) If we win you get the doubled amount back (minus the 5% Matt Crazy Bet Passthrough fee)
5c) If Matt loses but fails to payout the wager you have no recourse (except against Matt).

There is no insurance offered on this MCBPT.
I would offer an alternative "investment" the Insured Matt Crazy Bet Passthrough (I-MCBPT) but well that is just too stupid to do even in jest.

That defeats the entire point of this bet.

Want to wager more than the max (250 BTC)?
Privately this can already be done, only by trusted individuals or those using escrow though. Kind of makes what you're doing pointless.

Please don't spam in my thread, thanks.  Smiley

I will privately escrow with you since you're probably an SA troll and you also need to be taught a lesson.

The horsey image itself makes this a near certainty.

I doubt it you could teach most SA folks very much...they don't really seem to learn very readily.

Not for him it isn't pointless. I just tried to warn about this.

And the credit-default-swaps, btw, right after peaking in 2008, turned worthless when buyers realized AIG sold them without collateral (small warning for speculating on ponzi defaults).

People, don't throw good money after bad to known pirate-ponzi scammers on default bets/insurance. Place bets with MNW but NOBODY ELSE (especially those who want the deposit first).

Matt said in another thread that he qualifies my bet even though I haven't posted "enough" messages to the forum, so here goes:

You have to use escrow for bets if you are serious, otherwise there is no way to enforce debt collection in case either party lose.

I would like to bet but I want an escrow.

Also interested in this, with an escrow.  Would you be able to do a 250 btc contract if I can find an acceptable escrow, Mat?

I'll escrow for 1% each side, or 1BTC each side.

There are several escrow offers in this post. Forum admin Theymos has offered a similar deal too, see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=102425.msg1122389#msg1122389

Well, since you're just giving out bitcoins, essentially, I request that my bet be raised from 20 BTC to 30 BTC.

No he is not essentially giving away BTCs....  If it were not for me buying bonds on GLBSE under 50% face I would be doing the same.

You're buying bonds? That's not what you said a few hours earlier..

Just to make clear the bond is now dead or closed as BTCST has failed to send me coins with in 72 hours or make interest payments.

Pirate has defaulted.

Assuming pirate will ever pay in full I will pass along the weeks interest and the face value of the bond.

Again this bond is now dead and to make clear if pirate does not send fund the bonds are worth 0 BTC.

Thank you.

Matthew, you want us to believe you're betting 10 000 btc that Pirate won't default without knowing anything more than the average joe of the forum? Smiley
Can you prove you have this 10 000btc in the blockchain?

Oh, dang. That's the post I've been waiting for. Hadn't seen that yet.

Goat, who met Pirate in Vegas and operated a PPT, has declared that Pirate has defaulted.

Folks, that's a case closed. There is no meeting behind closed doors, no smoke and mirrors. It's all over.

How many times do we have to go over this? Stop trolling / wasting my time. Everything has been offered, backed, resolved. Any people posting here in "disbelief" are just trolling.
