Great, just downloaded and put it in my 8bit folder, its working great! Thanks a lot! You're welcome  On a different note - while its great to have http://explorer.8-bit.ga/ block explorer, but it misses one very important feature - the active node list. It would be extremely helpful to have an officially published list of nodes to connect. I have all the "nodeXX.8-bit.ga" nodes in my 8bit.conf, however most of the time I have just one or two peers, most of which are not even up to date. My default connection port (18888) is open and "listen" is set to 1, so I don't see what prevents me from connecting to other nodes, if there are any. As a result my stakes are not being accepted, and running masternode has no effect as the network seem, to accept only *some* nodes, while ignoring others. Does anyone has similar issues and/or... is someone playing with the code..?  I'm going to add 2 nodes on different servers, and when they are up and running, you can add my ip to your addnode list. |

takes 112 coins per masternode right now, but dev says he is going to release new version of wallet eventually which is going to increase the mn requirement to 1024 coins Look at the beginning of this forum thread and there is a guide to setup a masternode on the first page. Now setting up multiple masternodes will be a task, but I know how to do it on other coins so we will see how it goes. My blockchain is almost completely downloaded, so I will post my results once I got the masternodes set up. |

Great  Blockchain freezes at block 861533. It only would take a few more minutes to finish if it didn't get stuck. I made a backup of the blockchain before the error happened and verified that its the correct chain. But I cant get any wallet on any computer I have access too, including my VPS, to update completely. Hopefully someone has an idea whats going on. |

Great Blockchain freezes at block 861533. It only would take a few more minutes to finish if it didn't get stuck. I made a backup of the blockchain before the error happened and verified that its the correct chain. But I cant get any wallet on any computer I have access too, including my VPS, to update completely. Hopefully someone has an idea whats going on. I see 4 nodes stuck on block 861533, in my opinion it's orphaned one. Current block height used my most of peers, bittrex and block explorer is 862004 (hash: 5c1dadf467437f29727655907eb68ae8a27e5bf480e84773f4ad29e63b624904). Check what's your hash for following blocks: 861531 should be 66e5c7a43a1f11a956e1dd4f0d570e8ee59a71f7413c1f5d49ed85c7236a86cd 861532 should be fe002e222e6241a880d1b47ea49c29f568e01c70ace3e03f5c3feb02bf0e4a2e 861533 should be ad66c5361c8ebeedda485d906b4e93b7d6d15cf41de5a7e401e120bd4c430b7b If hashes are different then you are on the dead chain and should suck a correct one. I will publish a bootstrap soon, but for faster syncing its better to download following files: - database/* - txleveldb/* - blk0001.dat from the wallet dir of someone else and run the client with -rescan option. For privacy reasons, published can run this one first on his local PC with empty wallet dat. I think such package has been already distributed but we need a fresh one, today I have been talking to an owner of a node often forking a chain (big staking power and connectivity issues with rest of the networking causing unwanted selfish mining) so we should get rid of this issues soon. Also by increasing number of seed nodes (what also drays has pointed out recently). |

Im setting up multiple nodes (at the 1024 coin per block level) on my vps, with multiple ips, and this should help strengthen the network, I just got to get an up to date blockchain. I found one posted here from 3 weeks ago, and that helped tremendously, but it's blockchain ended in a fork, so now I am going to start it over again from 3 weeks ago. Do you know if it should automatically get the correct chain, or will it just get the bad chain again? |

Ill keep building verifying and backing up the chain til i get back on the right one. What is 8bit? it's cheap and the low coin supply is nice. but besides a low coin supply what is a reason to invest? or, even better, to use? The community seems to be decently active but there hasn't seemed to be to much in the way of development.
