Awesome new client and is running smooth. Well done. Well done! Great to see ENRG still going strong after two years
Thanks both for your kind words. Two years sound like a long time for crypto. But for EnergyCoin, it's just like a new beginning since we have just switched to a fixed PoS reward recently. And now we also have more new core members and have a much stronger team than two years ago. Peter Two years is a long time for a coin to survive, and that longevity is a great selling point, as is the new core members! I think the upside for ENRG is very positive, so it's a great investment, plus it actually has a real world use that most humans are concerned with. Hello Attack.of.the.Clones, You have a good point here. I also mentioned before, that our ENRG blockchain with a long history is one of our most valuable assets. That long history has also been proving the continuous staking supports from our community throughout this two years. And since you are talking about investment, don't forget ENRG has already been stably listed on Bittrex for two years. A stable Bittrex listing is actually a type of protection for investors. Peter

I agree, are you trying to get on poloniex too? I will send my request. But if you are familiar with Poloniex, you should know that now everyone can make request here: https://poloniex.com/coinRequestAnd there is no saying Tristan or Busoni would only favor dev's request. So it will require more community efforts if you or any others want to get there. Peter

I believe EnergyCoin is better than many coins currently listed on Poloniex. And before we get listed there, everyone can continue to trade on Bittrex, which is also a top trustable exchange with good trade volume. Peter

hi guys, I got the message telling me to check out my Energycoin wallet as i am one of the originals with 125k coins. I opened my wallet, it wouldn't sync up but there was still the 125k plus a few from staking.
I downloaded the new wallet and replaced the qt, which may have been a mistake as now when i try to open the wallet all i get is error loading blkindex.dat
I am currently downloading the bootstrap, but i am desperately hoping i did not lose my coins. Any help?
EDIT: i have found my wallet.dat file so that's good.

Hello cexylikepie, First of all, thank you for holding and supporting ENRG for such a long time. We welcome you coming back. According to what you have written, your wallet.dat file should be fine and your funds should be safe. The current ENRG network doesn't accept connections from old protocol version. That was why your old client wouldn't sync up. So you needed to download the new client and you already did it right. You got error loading blkindex.dat because the block index format was changed since v1.2. Your block index file was just too old. So you needed to download the new bootstrap and you did it right again. And since you haven't sync'd for a long time and your node list may be outdated, please also download the EnergyCoin.conf file from our Bootstrap Server. Then you should be all fine. Please keep your wallet staking to help support the ENRG network. Your 125k+ coins should be enough to stake some new blocks under the current network difficulty condition. Peter

Guys, It came to my attention that Ryan, the one who runs EnergyGHS, has been developing a new platform to continue his business. Current EnergyGHS mining asset holders should register on his new platform, which is called Crypto Broker, and get your EnergyGHS mining assets converted to BTC mining contracts. Full details here: https://nxtforum.org/index.php?topic=1504.msg216317#msg216317When you send your mining assets with the required message, don't forget to ensure "encrypt message" is selected for your privacy. Peter

What is the maximum coin age for stake weight? Is it capped at 1 day (which is also the minimum coin age for staking)? According to the "Staking" icon on the lower right corner of the Qt client, my stake weight has been locked at its minimum stake weight for days now. I apologize if it has been stated or asked by someone else before, but I have been unable to find the answer on my own from this thread and the previous one.
(Note: I know how staking works. I feel like I have to say it immediately so that I don't get irrelevant replies.)

Hello Relnarien, Yes, your understanding is basically correct, and it was also asked by someone else before. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1028941.msg14712975#msg14712975In short, there's been no coin ageing since block height 2.1m. And you could say it's capped at 1 day. Based on what you've written, I have no doubt you should know how staking works. P.S. Will put it into our FAQ, so that new users won't need to search around again. Peter

I suppose I could have checked the source, but I'm not really familiar with which variable references which value, and it seemed like a waste of effort to go through the whole source just looking for a single value. I'm a little embarrassed that the answer was posted only 2 pages prior though. I was mostly searching through the earlier pages. =/ Also, I only added that little note at the end of my previous post because my question was the type that tended to invite irrelevant replies like "staking resets the stake weight to 0" or "staking requires a minimum coin age". I didn't mean to sound condescending.

Ok so this is a odd one, I am trying to send some coins and I am getting errors.
I wanted to send 100k but it failed and gave me the error of "Transaction creation failed", working down I found that 25k sent ok, but when I tried another 25k I got the same error message and can now only send lower amounts, it seems the amount I can send drops each time I send coins? Any ideas how to fix this because at this rate ill have stuck coins that I cant do anything with :/
