some developer can make good profit on it, but only if he works, deliver and hold.
Agreed.

i think your 1860 coins must be sent to an escrow
only deliver to dev if real work on the coin
The escrow could protect ... the CoinDev from not getting paid.

But the investors need to be protected too. Namely from a CoinDev who does not deliver in the end, or bails prematurely.

Let us work out a scheme, in which the dev funds will be released step by step.

I will send my 500 cov when the dev commits because I have total respect for him! I'm sure we can work out a payment arrangement based on production for the community...we will see as things unfold in the coming weeks! Again don't get your hopes up on this!!! Can't express that enough...I'm not sure if this will even work out!

DNotes
I had another look. Thanks for reminding me, spartak_t.
That you could name one coin out of hundreds of highly celebrated "this is not a shitcoin" attempts ... is not a proof, but I have to admit: Even after this long time, DNotes hasn't crashed yet. And that is something!
Now going through my backups, I have found an old wallet.dat. Yiehah. Syncing as we speak. I actually mined DNotes, and put them aside, never looked at them again. Really cool, thanks for the reminder that DNotes still exists. The wallet.dat of my other >50 coins from that era ... are probably worthless. But DNotes actually made it this far - cool. Not rich, really not, but a few unexpected dollars. Nice. Now of course the questions is: How far is Dnotes in its P&D cycle? Each coins has its own time scale. Sell now, or continue keeping them? Anyways, that is off-topic here. Just wanted to share my happiness :-)

EDIT: I can do the escrow. Will not risk my reputation for pennies and if my intentions was to dump it I had a lot of chances to do so.
Yes, why not. Me I have no objections. Other opinions?

I have only a wish: Then start speaking better words about our coin please :-)

Mined a block  Smiley

Congrats! And thx for helping the network.

My 24/7 node is staking, too - just checked it, all fine. My last block was 52 blocks ago.

I will send my 500 cov when the dev commits because I have total respect for him!
Cool, now that is what I call a good incentive!

Perhaps it is even better if all the magic givers choose their own way?

I'm sure we can work out a payment arrangement based on production for the community...
Yes.

I only suggested the stepwise payment, because of the expressed doubts that a new dev could just dump whatever he receives, and run away never to be seen again.

-->

That basically means some developer to work on COV until it hits those targets, dump it and game over.
... I understand your doubts. Perhaps the payout structure should reflect that? Stepwise, whenever a roadmap step is implemented, he gets another batch? There are many ways to organize this.
There are many ways to organize this. Make suggestions, please.

I am also asking around if I can find an interested dev.

Takeover Crowdsourced Bounty Status:...
100+60+150+500+500+500+50 = 1860 COV
... is a lot of money. ... Competent CoinDevs, come flocking to us - and present us your track record, please.

Block time of COV is decreasing & becoming more regular!

I have downloaded all of the blocks, and done some measurements.

Why? I was interested to see if the highly irregular, and very slow block time (at the end of April)

... has now been improving since we put so much effort into this, by running 24/7 staking nodes, etc.

Here is some statistics:

I have made moving averages over 10 or 20 blocks; calculated the mean
= how long do I have to wait for the next block, on average.

And standard deviation (square root of variance)
= how much are the block times differing from that average value?
(if standard deviation were 0, then all blocks came out after the exactly same number of seconds).

This post here explains more why (and how) I cared about this, some lines cited:

Staking... I offer to leave this wallet running, so there is a staking node. To improve the network. If you want to increase the Stake Weight of this node, send some COV coins there. Every bit helps.
COV address of this 24/7 staking node: CQfH2dwUcGXcxvfxU2nqoqGC4qcbSipvRX
^ that was the beginning of something beautiful.
...
... More there in that long post ...
...

The results:
  • Anyways ... if this works out, IMHO we have proven that
opportunity PLUS action PLUS money PLUS knowledge PLUS discipline ... can cooperate:
    • opportunity = given by CovenDev
    • action = initiated and executed by drakoin
    • money = provided by spartak_t
    • knowledge = shared by tx42
    • discipline = the unknown big guy who is properly staking his ~2000 coins.
  • There is a real chance that COV can be saved.
  • ... by us magicians ourselves!
Looks like we were a team, for a moment :-) A real coven ...

Summary:

The average10 and average20 have gone down, from over 2000 seconds (~30 minutes) to less than 1000 seconds ... that is great. COV is still slower than bitcoin, but not much.
The stdev10 and stdev20 have gone down, that is also good, because the unpredictability of the moment of arrival of the next block is reduced.

Thanks to everyone who is helping by staking!

Still, it would be nice to somehow make the coin rhythm cleaner - one of the first tasks for our new dev.

Or is it only a question of more of us staking our coins?

EDIT: Feel free to donate for my work:
CQfH2dwUcGXcxvfxU2nqoqGC4qcbSipvRX
and your donations will increase the staking weight.

I said that I will hold the coin despite the outcome, can help with donation and will do the escrow (if people in here are agree with that). Those a the only better words which I can say for the moment.

Escrow with a roadmap looks like the best option..it gives peace of mind and protection for the community! I will give 500 cov coin with a email commitment from the dev and the 1300-1400 community cov coin should be held in escrow and released as a future roadmap is fulfilled! trusted community members should review the progress and release the community bounty upon approval of the trusted members...I recommend Drakoin and Spartak take the lead on the escrow! Again this is very risky and just my thoughts...please don't invest what you can't afford to lose!!!

No point to sell at loss. This one can still be saved. Better keep your coins in the wallet to hep the network and stake.

I think Coven dev and Graviton dev are the same.. they both used .ninja domain extension ..no innovation in Graviton as well, but it has shiny roadmap as Coven had.

Any update on new developer?
