Edited (27 May 2016): This thread was moved from Bitcoin Discussion to Off-topic by someone with the ability - not me.
I am not going to post in meta because I do not want trouble. Hopefully someone with a much higher position will look into this matter.

What's the worst mistake you did with your Bitcoin? It can vary from starting to use Bitcoin to buying dumped Altcoin to gambling.

The worst mistake I made with Bitcoin is... Buying cloud mining hashrate. I bought 0.02 GH/s CEX.IO hash rate voucher at SEOClerk for $2 USD - or maybe $1 USD. I thought with 0.02 GH/s, I would be making a profit in half a year.. And I was wrong.

Well, I bought using the free five dollars coupon. So that does not count as making a mistake with Bitcoin. However, the slow profit lead me to buying hashing power from CEX.IO and later on.. ZeusHash using the Bitcoin I earned from signature campaign.. Again, I thought I would be making profit in a few months. Till today, I'm sure I have not make any profit from both the company yet. CEX.IO stopped their cloud mining operation and.. ZeusHash.. What do you think.?

Edited (15 May 2016):

First edit since this thread was posted. Anyway, after reaching more than 100 pages (103 to be exact), today I will list down some common ones.

1. Gambling
2. Not knowing Bitcoin earlier.
3. Participating in HYIP & Wrong trading technique (both Altcoin and day trading).
4. Sending to wrong address & lost of wallet.
5. Cloud mining & scammed trade.

my worst mistake with bitcoins is that i gambled a lot of them, and more i played more  i lost  more till i lost around 2 bitcoins, so i think that this was a huge mistake with bitcoins
Wow man,im glad you  at least stopped it right now...
Losing enormous amount in gambling really touches you, because you know you can never get it back from the same site.
Im sorry for you're loss, but be positive, and think that you could loose even more.
Therefore, the best way to avoid losses or fraud on the part of the site, it does not take part in a project in favor of another. Ie to find a suitable and conscientious casino. Or even find a different location for the investment, or as a hobby interests.

I invested 2 times in the same site and i didnt know that it was already a scam

Sound like you fall into the same scam twice. I wonder what makes you fall into it again. More details?

I put $80 into GawMiners before it went full stupid with the Paycoin thing. I sold my miners and got $40 back. Thanks Mr Garza for taking my $80 and magically halving it.

Funny. It is good that you manage to get back half of it. I believe there is people who lost a lot more than you. I have never heard of GawMiners, to be honest.

Not mining in 2009 when you could get literally thousands easily. At least I didn't know about it then or else I'd really be depressed.

Same here. If I know about Bitcoin in 2009 and did not mine, I will be really sad and hate.

i did believe to wrong person, it was when i buy something from him, i got scammed around 0.6 btc by him. he suddenly blocked all my social media

What did you bought? Do your have the transaction address? Maybe some expert 'Bitcoin police' here may be able to look into the Blockchain and find the scammer. Hopefully he does not mix the Bitcoin.

So sad! This profile does not appear as the #1 result (on anonymous) Google searches anymore.

Time to be active on the crypto forums again? Proud to be one of the few Legendary members of the Sparkie Red Dot!

Gonna put this on my resume if I ever join a cryptocurrency/blockchain industry!

For bitcoin need care. Working with cryptocurrency any one source of information can not be sent in any case, be sure to check all that you see and hear, otherwise you will lose everything.

It is sad to know.Always double check when you send bitcoin and if possible always break the transaction in two or three parts.

Ouch - well that's one of my biggest fears everytime I'm doing a transaction.

Be careful next time!

And I did not take at all seriously bitcoin the first time I heard about cryptocurrency. If at that time put a small amount, now would be a fabulously rich.

Errors can be performed continuously without monitor and control their income and expenses. The fact that the last recession the cost of bitcoin, very much emptied my purse.

Perhaps a lot of us made a mistake of investing to an ICO that later turned out to be scam. I don't have much bitcoin and that I have to do article posting, translation jobs and participate yobit signature campaign to earn some bitcoin only to find out i was scammed.

Worse mistake is investing without investigating whether legit or not.

My worst mistake is I didn't believe what my friend say about bitcoin, although he has shown me the profit he got at that time. I really regret about it and when finally I believed him, the price bitcoin was dropping.
