Well India have shown that they can perform well on pitches like the ones they will be playing on in England. Australia and New Zealand have similar pitches to the ones in England and as we know India won both ODI series playing in Australia and New Zealand so I think that playing on the English pitches won't be as bad as what people might think. England and India might be the hot favourites however I wouldn't count out New Zealand, SA and Australia. Even the WI are coming into form at the right time so it could be wide open this year.

If England introduces seaming pitches in this world cup(Which is very unlikely except a couple of matches) then its very close call for top5 teams. no one plays that good in seaming conditions. India can somehow manage the damage because of their bowling with some master class inning from Virat.

Rohit-Dhawan duo is crucial for India. Rohit struggles when the ball moves but he's damn fine batsman if he gets going. Dhawan loves ICC tournaments.

Very true my friend, the main thing is that India have a well balances team now that I think they can do well on seaming pitches. Well they have the bowlers that can now bowl well on pitches like this as they showed playing on Australian pitches and I also think that the batsman took a lot out of the matches played in Australia and New Zealand. The only loss was in the Perth test match which was a seaming pitch however I thought the Indian bowlers bowled well in that match and India also batted okay, it was just the second innings where they fell away however that was because the pitch was playing tricks. In ODI matches we don't really see this so that is why I think if there will be seaming pitches India should do just fine.

This is true to an extent that when compared to bowling, batting has more power than their bowling. But one should be knowing that too it is a team game and if batsman fails, other plays a vital role so in that way as a team unit they do a fantastic job.

India was never good at bowling. Whatever they gained, most of the time, they gained with their batting. Pakistan and Srilanka is/was once totally bowling depended team from subcontinent. On the other hand, Australia, SA, England all of these country have both side strong. Anyway, India has the benefits of having a great batting line up.

Right now India is complete package for World cup but if English Board prepare seam pitches then surely they are going to have some problems in batting second best team is England and New Zealand is also good as history is with them here in England for qualifying in Semi Final for others they all need to do some hard work Sri Lanka could be surprise package.

For now, I would say India and England is the hot favorite and have the possibility of winning the world cup. India has the greatest batting line up, whatever the pitch condition is, I think that will not be a problem for them. On the other hand, England have benefits since they will play on their home ground. They also have good batting line up, good bowlers. However, what's your thought on Australia? Don't you even count them?

Today their is a 2nd ODI between India vs OZ. It will being in next 2.30 hrs from now and it is expected that India might not make major changes in the playing eleven combination. It will be an interesting match as OZ would like to make a comeback in the series today.

This looks like another low scoring match like the last match at the moment. Australia are slowly gathering wickets while Kohli is the only batsman standing strong for the n'th freaking time.

Vijay is doing well in supporting Kohli, but a strong partnership is required now in order to reach somewhere close to 250 or higher.

I think the score will be 280+. India lost another wicket unfortunately.

Funny how things turned. 250+ runs now low scoring in ODI cricket. There used to be time when 240 - 250 was very good total to win a match.

Anyway, there is another ODI between Afghanistan vs Ireland. Afghanistan scored so far 155 after 38.3 over and lost 5 wickets. This might be another low scoring match.

Between these two matches my picks are India and Afghanistan.

India is having a low score despite Kohli's century (97 though). 218 after 42.3 overs with 4 wickets remaining. I guess score will be 280 as like Royse said. I have bet for India today. After a long time, I have joined back to betting. But seems like it will not be a good day for me.

True. Times have changed indeed primarily due to the T20 format rising in popularity over time due to which 250 is basically a low score these days.

I feel India might reach 280 as you said if Kohli continues playing and the remaining batsmen need to continue supporting him.

Kohli just gone. two overs left and India scored 250+. I don't think 280+ they will be looking at however 265 - 270 should be the goal at this moment.

Edit: Another gone! India is down to 9. Lazy slow try from kuldeep and bowled.

The pitch is slow. The balls are not coming in the bat so I think it will not be easy to chase 250 runs however so far Khawaja and Finch are doing good betting.

After two quick wickets Australians again in command Marsh and Handscomb both doing their job slowly and steadily look like this match is going to be very interesting but in my view your bet for India is not good because I have bet on Australia as odds was @2.20

Still it is possible for Aussies they only need 130 runs in 27 overs with 8 wickets.Actually the opening pair did best after long time.But the pitch is more good for bowing so it is going to be another thrilling match to watch.
