Well bringing in some new players might help get the team going again and to be honest they have nothing to lose as they have been in poor form when it comes to ODI matches in recent times so why not try some new players and see how it goes. We just never know they could be what Sri Lanka need right now to get them back to winning ODI matches again. Look at Australia in the past year, they have had to bring in new players and it has worked very well so I say why not give it a go.

Bro, Question is from where they are going to bring a new player, Srilankan's domestic level is getting worst. They don't support their younger player much, and the young players need grooming but management busy in petty politics and cutting the salary of domestic players.

They have shitload amount of talents and passionate cricket talent in the Lower level (school), but no one is nurturing them due to the financial problem. They need some drastic change in domestic level otherwise they are doomed for good.

Well I didn't know about the financial side of the Sri Lankan cricket team. To be honest the thing that has this an issue with money is when the IPL was introduced as now players can earn more money playing in the IPL then playing cricket for their countries. I'm talking about the countries that can't afford a lot of money for their players to play cricket. This is the thing that upsets me in sports as its all about the money now and not about the sports anymore. The Sri Lankan cricket board need to find the right balance so that the young talent would want to play for their country and earn a decent salary as well. Sri Lanka do have some talent which we saw in the South African test series, I just hope we see Sri Lanka get better as they were once one of the top ODI teams in the world.

They also beat the shit out of every team that time they faced. It was the cool captaincy of Ranatunga. He and his team used to chase runs like it's nothing. Always smile in the face. Even in the hardest moment he did not show any anxiety.

The team believed in each others more than anything.

Well at least Sri Lanka put in a better performance today and were close to winning the match if they had a better super over but that's how it goes sometimes. Momentum is a big thing in sports and right now SA have all the momentum so in tight games like this, most times then not the team with the momentum normally wins like we saw in the ODI series with India and Australia, once Australia got the momentum after winning the third ODI match they went on to winning the series even after being 2-0 down. I would like to see Sri Lanka win a match in the shorter form to give them something heading into the World Cup.

I said this about Afghanistan a while ago that they will be a team to watch out for in the future as they have a lot of talent on their team. Yes not being able to play on home soil can be tough however they look like they have adapted to not playing at home just like Pakistan have.

Hey those kids you’re referring are definitely from Asian countries as Royse777 pointed out, there they consider cricket above all sports. If you see other developed countries will have equal balance in other sports, but Asian countries lack those facilities and Cricket is easy to begin to play at an early age. Also if you see nearly all famous Asian cricketers started playing cricket in the streets when they were kids, before they were selected to play for their respective national team

Hahaha. Everyone here in my area starts their cricket journey in streets. You know Bangladesh is dense populated country and Dhaka is the most populated among all the cities. Here it's hard to get place to play cricket, at least for child because in a ground, you will find bunches of group playing. Sometimes I feel like how the fuck they know in which pitch they are playing. In a big ground, at least 4 groups play in Friday. 4 groups = 8 team. Can you believe, even with full boundary?
That's why sometimes kids have to play on street, specifically lane/alleyways.
