Trump can put tariffs on goods exported by Mexico to USA.

To make everything in your country more expensive?
What's the point?

More money from import/export means less needed from income taxes.

Cool

But in both cases it's the citizen who pays it.
Where I agree is that it's an indirect taxation... But I'm not sure it's better than direct taxation :/

If we make our own products, there is no import. If government makes export tax too high, we simply don't export. If government wants any money at all, they have to balance the tax so that products can come and go. Government shrinks to the right size.

Cool

Eh, I might argue that if we make our own products better, then there is no import. The taxes still decrease degrees of freedom

But pay for school, roads, police, hospitals...
Oh right you're American, well they pay for bombs bullets, mortars...

Will he really build a wall?
I read it can be done, it would cost about 8 Billion and could be done in 4 years, the same amount of time he would be in office.
I think he will.

Wall?

Mexican President says, No WAY JOSE:

http://www.cnn.com/2016/07/10/world/mexico-president-fareed-interview/

I got some news for you.  The Mexican president is not in charge of whether the US builds a wall or not.

Of course.  The article states that he won't pay for it.  Wink
He's not in charge of whether Mexico pays for it or not.  All that the US has to do is place a small fee on "Remittances" from the US to Mexico.  That's the money all the illegal Mexicans here are sending back to their families.

So you see, this is really not very complicated.

Lol!
Not very complicated no...
You really think you'll be able to tax money illegal migrants are sending back home?
Don't you feel it's a bit insane to accept the employment of illegal migrants but taxing the money they earn?

Actually, he can set up the fee on remittances with just one phone call.  There's no need to call it a tax.  Is it insane?

Everything is these days.

You know for a damn fact mexico isnt going to fork up to pay a wall all across bottom line of texas.

The fact he said mexico would pay for it is just dumb, and if he thinks we all would want to pay for it thats even more dumb.

Then again that would question on spending in general since half the US is made up of immigrants who made US what it is today...

Mexico should build the wall themselves and every twenty feet or so, put a door in it that can only be opened from the Mexican side.  Grin

Seriously, though, if America is crazy enough to elect Trump, then I'm pretty sure that controversy about a stupid wall is the least of your problems.

Then again, the UK isn't much better off with Theresa May(garet Thatcher, the second coming.  All she needs is an Argentinian ship to sink and then she ticks all the boxes):

Progressive policies have gained May support among moderates and modernizers, but many feel uncomfortable with her immigration policy. The Irish Times described various policy proposals she's put forward on immigration as "draconian enough to be overruled by cabinet colleagues."
May wants to reduce net migration to the UK from 330,000 to the tens of thousands and wants to bar British citizens from bringing in their foreign born spouses or children unless they meet certain financial requirements — regardless of how much the foreign spouse earns.
“When immigration is too high, when the pace of change is too fast, it’s impossible to build a cohesive society,” she said in a 2015 speech.
She also voted in May to repeal the Human Rights Act. She reasoned that it limits the power of government, according to the Independent.

Seems everyone's gone mad for restrictions on immigration, despite the fact that figures prove immigration is a net contributor to the UK economy and, given recent aftershocks from a certain referendum, you'd think we'd naturally take all the help for our economy we can get right now.  Perhaps common sense is too much to ask in the current political climate.

BWAHAHAHHA....

This group  called the Other 98% says "We’re Building a Wall Around Trump. And Mexicans are helping to pay for It!"

Quote
Donald Trump is bringing his three-ring circus of hate into Cleveland next week for the Republican Convention. So we’re heading to Cleveland with a few thousand Americans of all stripes to build a wall around Trump. Literally. And we need your help.
We’re working with a bunch of bad-ass partners to create a 15,000 foot-long wall! Our wall will be made of fabric and stenciled and painted by artists (and kids!) to look like a real wall. Our wall won’t divide cultures and families; our wall brings us together and speaks truth to power.
Some sections of our wall will be held by courageous front-line activists to peacefully blockade Trump’s convention. Thousands of Americans will march through Cleveland with sections of our wall before attaching it to the 15,000 foot-long security fence that Cleveland is building to protect Trump from the voice of the people.
Check out our #WallOffTrump Indiegogo page and chip-in to make it happen.

Mainstream is pretty much calling it as Pence for VP it seems, but it wouldn't surprise me if Trump pulled a fast one yet.  A bit of research into the guy last night leaves me pretty ho-hum.  Any other interesting info/dirt that anyone has would be cool.  As long as Trump doesn't pick a Gingrich (who, accding to Stone, was described by Nixon as a 'Rockefeller guy') or an sleazy politician like Christy I'm reasonably happy.

Trump is so attention-grabbing himself that it's probably a good tactical decision to pick a wall-flower.  I'd still prefer to see a risky and fearless anti-establishment person because there is a very real possibility that the VP will progress to P and I'm of the 'desperate times require desperate measures' point of view currently.

Of course it remains a distinct possibility that Trump is a clever globalist psy-op and we have no chance to preserve what's left of our nation.  I cannot rule that out, but the possibility that things are not this grim still gives me some hope.

The establishment want pence to be able to assassinate Donald or If pence is selected it will be a positive proof of how trump will be a white Obama... A total traitor. Good news is both of pence and trump are JFKable (Hillary 2).The American political ruling class is corrupt to the bones... I vote for Flynn and Hertling as a dual presidency and if there is a disagreement Taylor swift to make a majority. In my advise configuration the domestic ennemies are in camp or exported as slaves worldwide, the foreign enemies will change...

When I read about pence I can only like Putin... Very sad...

WWWWWWWwellllllll........it's convention time. Here's the latest I've got:

Trump opening GOP convention with call for law and order

Quote from: AP (Supply your own deacronym)
CLEVELAND (AP) — Republicans cast Donald Trump as the right man for turbulent times as they opened their presidential convention Monday against a backdrop of unsettling summer violence and persistent discontent within their own party.

The glue keeping Republicans together was disdain for Hillary Clinton. Convention speakers planned to relentlessly paint the presumptive Democratic nominee as entrenched in a system that fails to keep Americans safe.

While safety and security was the focus of Monday’s opening session, Trump was also trying to shore up Republican unity, in part by assuring party leaders and voters alike that there’s a kinder, gentler side to what many see as merely a brash businessman. Trump’s family is playing a starring role, beginning Monday with a prime-time speech by his wife, Melania Trump, who has kept a low profile throughout the campaign.

In a surprise, Trump announced he would come to Cleveland and go onstage on opening night to introduce her....

http://www.breitbart.com/news/trump-opening-gop-convention-with-call-for-law-and-order/

Oh yeah, we've got a goofball too:

WATCH: Stephen Colbert Hijacks RNC Mic Dressed as ‘Hunger Games’ Character to Mock Trump

Quote from: Daniel Nussbaum
Late Show host Stephen Colbert appeared to take over a microphone at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland to mock presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump, before he was quickly escorted off stage by security.

The 52-year-old late-night host, in town to do live coverage of the convention for his struggling CBS program, was dressed in costume as Caesar Flickerman from the Hunger Games movies.

“[Trump] has formed an alliance with Indiana Governor Mike Pence,” Colbert began, before pausing and bowing his head for a moment as if he’d fallen unconscious. “Sorry, I blacked out there for a moment.”

“So it is my honor to hereby launch and begin the 2016 Republican National hungry for power games!” Colbert bellowed while banging a large gavel on the lectern, before he was approached by a security guard.

“Look, I know I’m not supposed to be here, but let’s be honest, neither is Donald Trump,” Colbert managed to sneak in before he was escorted off stage....
