Good news that coinsmarket has accepted SLM. I will look if I can transfer some coins there from Novaexchange to create some liquidity - until we know Nova's definitive fate. But that won't be much, as I'm not a whale (I would describe myself as a dolphin in SLM).

I have now made some more updates to the website design (mainly small cosmetical changes) and there are only two nice-to-haves left:

- a different header for the content pages (as the one with the Slimcoin icon is pretty big, as I said)
- the "Language icon" instead of the "Languages" menu (obviously with alt for visually impaired people).

I had already merged the new design into the website at the slimcoin-project Github repository as a new branch, but I deleted it again because there is no way to test the new version there (get it "served" by Github) until we merge it with the "master" branch and publish it definitively. So for now it will continue to reside on my "d5000" Github repo and everybody that wants still to change something should simply fork it and then do a pull request - I'll merge them in no more than a day if everything is OK. But I think until Monday the rest will get figured out and then we could publish the new version, if everybody is ok with that.

PS: I have created a thread with the idea of an Unique Blockchain Network of coins with outstanding novelties.

Some people are mentioning, that they would like to have a pool. I've seen there is a code to compile pool, someone test it, that it works?

I tried to get https://github.com/kryptoslab/node-open-mining-portal up and running and couldn't build node-multi-hashing (one of nomp's dependencies) on any version of node other than  0.10. so, I doubt if it can be used in production.

I got a bit further using a contemporary-to-nodejs-0.10 linux distro

A bit of furkling around on Github reveals a recent version of node-multi-hashing which installs successfully under node v8.9.1: https://github.com/Kukunin/node-multi-hashing.git

Unfortunately, that won't rescue node-open-mining-portal but the dcrypt implementation could be plugged into node-pool: https://github.com/bonesoul/node-pool.git, following the model for scrypt as implemented here:

https://github.com/bonesoul/node-pool/blob/develop/src/algorithms/algorithms.js#L21

It's maybe a route to a working pool for Slimcoin, if anyone wants to explore in that direction. node-pool compiles and executes under node v8.9.1. I haven't managed to connect it to testnet yet but it's looking promising.

Cheers

I had a little idea for an infographic that explains Proof of Burn in a very basic ELI5-style way:

- The coin is depicted as a "machine" that is run by a combustion engine.
- The fuel are the coins burnt by the participants.
- Everybody that burns coins gets the right to operate the machine (create blocks/select the transactions that get included), with a probability tied to the burnt amount.
- As fuel is consumed, also burnt coins are "consumed" in the process, and if you want to operate the machine again in the future you must burn more coins -> this explains the "Decayed Burnt Coins" concept.

Is this approximately correct? Obviously, the PoW and PoS blocks should not be ignored.

Changing topics: I've finished the prototype of a port of the very basic original JS web2web app now, to work with Slimcoin and Fuseki/the CCY ontology. It is located here:

https://github.com/d5000/web2web

It displays inscriptions correctly. My Fuseki instance (Fuseki is the software that "serves" the data from the blockchain in RDF format) is however still running locally (has almost fully synced now) and not publicly accessible, so the live demo won't work. I would like to offer, as an alternative to the full RDF blockchain, a simplified blockchain dataset including only OP_RETURN transactions, for better performance.

Now the plan would be - apart from making Fuseki accessible - to port the Web2Web Gateway. However, it has no license specified. They're few lines of code, but who knows if the author want to keep it non-open source? As far as I know there's no message system at Github so I don't know how to contact him.

Maybe it's better to re-code it from the ground up as it's really a very easy-to-port app?

The whole system - web2web app/gateway + Fuseki instance is meant as a very simple and light alternative for what ACME could be in the future. It's not at all a replacement or a part of ACME. The main advantage is that at least the JS app can be hosted by anyone, also those that have no Slimcoin client, and anybody can read the pages.

Yeah it's very light.

I'n preparing for twitter campaign, so anybody who would like to help us, can get some prizes.
For one retweet and tweet like and accordingly for facebook, it would be 25SLM per one post on twitter and facebook

People should proof their retweet/likes, and have min. 50 observators/friends.

Rewards will be given, according to the week measure - for one week, it can give max of 175 SLM.

Pool of rewards - 15000 SLM - for now, if someone can help to donate more (it's my funds put on the table), please contact me.

Also there will be a contest, for a christmas time, where one person can win 5000SLM.

More info will be disclosed on forum, twitter and facebook soon.

https://twitter.com/Slimcoin_club?s=09

Also, I'll post a few posts on reddit in cryptocurrency subreddit - for this will be another pool of rewards - for likes, and comments - 15SLM for each. Just give me a proof. I'll link you, what posts you should like.
And pool for rewards here will be 5000SLM.

Altcoin devvie told me, that he can retweet our tweets for month, with a fee of 100.000SLM or 450$ in BTC.
Altcoin Devvie (@devnullius): https://twitter.com/devnullius?s=09

I can pledge some, but I can't cover it all. Is there anyone, who can help to get this?

If there will be less people to participate in campaign, I'll assignate all the funds to them only.

@ksdme: I received your pull request and merged it. Many thanks, that's approximately how I wanted it! There is however a bug, so it's still not publishable: Only the part of the menus that does not overlap the content area is shown, the part that overlaps is "cut" away. I hope it's not a difficult fix ... (That bug magically "disappeared" after I re-loaded the page some time later - it maybe was a Github cache problem. I should re-check before writing  Embarrassed So it's essentially working well ...)

I have seen you also have forked the web2web pages. I have created also a version adapted to the (slimcoin.club-based) Slimcoin page design of gateway.html that can be included in the slimco.in page using Jekyll, but it has still a flaw  (menus do not work at all). I would publish it when my basic Fuseki-based block/inscription explorer goes live.

If by addy, you meant address, it's here
SbgkQgQcQVSvcB2saHBVw7WGwF2dLvgRGz
It's an address, generated by me for any promotions, and campaigns. I think you can trust me, by the time, I'm here, and by what I'm doing.

Any help from you, can make this real.
@d5000 - great, @ksdme, said that after tommorow he can work full time. He also said, he'll see the code, review it, and see what he can do. So maybe he can be 'supporter-developer'. For now just a speculation, but seeing his dedication, I'm pretty sure, he will help us.

Also, is there anybody who has raspberry pi, and who could make video with burning coins (I'll give you to burn them), and record a video of it, to make our main advantage - real, and proofable.

I received 50000SLM, for the support address.

That's great. I didn't receive any message, so if donor has any special wishes, how to dispose of these funds, please message me.

Graham - how we can control supply now? I know only one way - take money supply from coinsmarket --- SLM burned coins = real supply.

Here is link for slack team for inter-community creation of our own exchange (it's just plans now, but if you have any experiance in developing, join us)

I mean, how can we see real money supply, because on ACME, that's not updated, and showing wrong numbers.

Real supply is about 15.3 milion, as I have seen.

Kinda useful - Mervin Seiberlich has created a jupyter notebook that basically lays out the details of the procedure for signing, checking and storing RDF graphs. The source is:

https://github.com/LibrEars/Linked-data-for-scientists-with-python

and there's a rendered version on: https://nbviewer.jupyter.org/github/LibrEars/Linked-data-for-scientists-with-python/blob/master/Linked%20data%20for%20scientists%20with%20python%20-%20Part%201.ipynb (or use the link in the README displayed on the Github repos).

It's as near a road map as I'm likely to produce.

The website is now almost ready (@ksdme: if you still want to fix something, please pull the newest version as I have made some more fixes).

Is there somebody here that could translate the few words on the start/home page into Russian? If yes, you could send me a PM or directly translate them here.
