Actually, the "current" block reward for V2 is that https://github.com/shiftcurrency/shift#shift-blockreward SHIFT Blockreward
80 days (around 230400 blocks) decay of mining reward. The reward will decrease every 28800 blocks. The reward scheme looks as follows,
Reward Block
3.0 SHIFT 0-28799
2.9 SHIFT 28800-57599
2.8 SHIFT 57600-86399
2.6 SHIFT 86400-115199
2.4 SHIFT 115200-143999
2.0 SHIFT 144000-172799
1.5 SHIFT 172800-230399
1.0 SHIFT 230400 - Infinity
So we are past block 994145 and reward is still 3.0 Shift |

It always is hard to give specific release dates, but the original aim is to release within March. As Shift V.2 is a complete rework of the original version, the focus is to rather have everything working out nice and smooth for the transition than to push to a hard setted date. As 3D Realms would say: "It's done when it's done." |

This is as simple as copy-pasting your wallet file in the new data folder. Your passphrase will keep working.
We'll provide detailed howtos for each OS, but this is as simple as that.
As for the coins on exchanges, you have nothing to do, since exchanges handle that for you.
