The difference is also money as well. Any team from EPL or a team like Real Madrid would be able to offer him like yearly 20-30 million if they want to, doubt they would pay THAT much, but they can if they want to and that's the biggest difference.

It means that we would be seeing a great deal of offers for him that Milan can't match. If the situation was like Liverpool offering 20, and Milan offering 20 and then Liverpool still somehow winning that bid, I would totally understand the logic of picking the bigger club. But this isn't even like that, it's more like 20 million by Real versus 7 million by Milan at best type of situation and the answer is obvious there.

why would a team have to have all players aged 20?

how many of these 20 year olds would play for the next 5 years?

With Giroud and Ibrahimovic, they can only be sure of doing great in next season Italian league and not in the Champions League. They obviously need to visit the transfer window and strengthen their team.

Milan have better performance on domestic league but totally failure on UEFA Champion League after stuck on group stage and failed qualify to knock out stage. I think mentality here talking more because long time not participants on UEFA Champion League make Milan not confidence face first level European competition. But Milan have good result after success with domestic league and get the first standing position, now time prepare with window transfer player before league begin and Milan can consistent again for next season on domestic league and UEFA Champion League.
