I know Napoli is not die yet but it will be difficult for them to lift this trophy again in this season, which you know that there are many strong teams that has double cross them to use huge amount of points to gap them in the table. As it stand in this season, I don't think the coach can do something that will make the team to showcase what they have never showcase before because, some of their potential strikers will be leaving the team soon because their contract will expire soon and they don't want to continue with the team again.

Now Napoli is in the top eight of the standings which is quite far from being in the top flight, so Napoli may only be able to try to be in the top four of the standings until the end of the season if they are still able to win more matches and hope that their other rivals can lose. Because Roma, Atalanta, Bologna and Fiorentina have made quite good progress this season, Napoli continues to experience decline in its position so far.

I believe Napoli will improve next season because, by then their coach will have some new players that will make some improvement that will give their fans hope that with time their coach will get it right to help them win some trophy.

This season, it is no longer easy for Napoli to get another trophy like last season, but that doesn't mean Napoli can't rise to a better position, such as the top four or the UCL zone. True story and I have a divided opinion on that. On the one hand I can understand every Napoli fan and everyone else who is pro Napoli that expectations rise when the team plays sensational soccer and wins the title in such a convincing manner that it seemed as if Napoli was the new superpower in the Serie A. On the other hand we have seen these outliers from time to time and more often than not the teams were not able to live up to the newly risen expectations simply because the foundation wasn't there. It was more a case of over delivery when they won the title than living up to their standards.

Not an easy game for Roma after all.

The managed to win but they were losing with a Serie B team, and they won with a doubtful penalty...

In football, whenever it comes to top tournaments, there's no such thing like putting an elite team first, at that phase, a mediocre team and an elite team measures with the same energy level, if possible the average team takes the lead because they're more serious and no relenting energy. AS Roma underrated Cremonese, more reason they struggle for a winning. The penalty was worldclass taken by Paulo Dybala, he scored to make the differences of 2-1, Cremonese were a bit too late to reciprocate, that alone was not good enough to handle the tough matches but I guess this events can not be reversible.

Whatever happens and how the process goes, the most important thing is that Roma win the match and there are no surprises here and regarding the winning process which is very difficult for them to achieve is quite natural because Jose Mourinho does a lot of rotations so that their players don't get tired and I think what is done by very the coach is quite right and what happens on the field is as it should be.

I was really starting to think that Cremonese were going to do it again.    Because they maintained their 1-0 score advantage for a long time really. But Lukaku and Dybala took a big responsibility in the last fifteen-minute period of the game by scoring goals. This comeback brought Roma the next round at the same time.

Quarter finals matchups are really fierce ones already. If Juventus get past Salernitana obstacle as well then they are going to have the easiest matchup against Frosinone on paper. Like I said it is only on paper otherwise we shouldn't forget that Frosinone demolished Napoli in last 16 by 4-0.

I saw the goal scored by Romelu Lukaku, he used his body as a shield score he could score that goal comfortably. Great finish for the Belgian even if he was already playing badly in that game before he scored.

Not sure what lead to the penalty awarded but it was a great spot kick taken by Paula Dybala as he helped qualified Jose Mourinho and the rest of the lads to the next round.
That said, expecting Napoli to come back up and win the Scudetto is a bad idea, how many points behind are they right now? Has got to be more than ten points. Rudi Garcia didn't do much of a good job so far if we'll accessed.

Even though they were in 5th place in Serie B, I think they played one of their best games against an Italian giant team. If it wasn't for Dybala's penalty, they might have won the match. Im telling you my friend if napoli was only lucky last season. The club was having average performance but it gets advantage caused by so many clubs were still in the transition last season.
You will not be able to see the same napoli like last season again. It's done for napoli and it has no chance to get the trophy this season. The club still perform like shit and nothing improved at all.
Being qualified for the UCL next season is very hard to happen. We need to see that based on the fact if napoli is still sitting at the 8th place of standing while it's being far away from the top 4.

The chance for napoli to enter into the UCL is very small if it will not be getting win streaks. Napoli really need to win streaks to go up again but it's very impossible to happen soon.
Im thinking napoli may probably out from the top 10 soon. I'm seeing mazzarri was not feeling convenient to handle this club. Mazzarri has not pleasant experience in managing serie a club.

AS Roma have picked up the crucial form to start winning matches because the club is fighting for better results and it can only be achievable. José Mourinho knows what he's doing and planning to explore more options for AS Roma. José Mourinho have the best strategy to implement, this is certainly a case where we won't be jeopardizing any slight difference followed by inconsistent performance. Having an experience attacker like Romelu Lukaku in your frontline, netting a goal wouldn't be considered difficult because there we have a bulldozer who's willing to tackle just to net a goal.

Of the team above it alone, Cagliari has fairly narrow gap, namely the same as Verona with 14 points, Sassuolo with only difference of 2 points and Udinese with 3 points.

What they need is not a miracle, but they must be able to improve their performance at least when they meet teams that are equal to their strength. If they manage to win all their matches against teams in the relegation zone and 4 above, then Cagliari can stay in Serie A next season.
