Bayern Munich took the lead, followed by Freiburg. Long-time leader Union dropped to third place. A familiar picture emerges in the Bundesliga. Bayern will be the champion again.

Leverkusen literally demolished Union Berlin by 5-0. Who could have thought that this game would end up with a result like this. I was thinking about the possibility of Leverkusen to get a win. But this was much more than I expected. Everything happened in the second half. Leverkusen were so comfortable about scoring three goals in the first fifteen-minute period of the half. Union Berlin were shocked by this and they couldn't react well to these goals. Now Bayern Munich are officially the leader after many weeks.

This is unpredictable result for sure. WTF was happening with union berlin? 5-0 is just a crazy result as union at the top standing was loosing against leverkusen which was at the bottom. Union has been dropping to the 3rd place of bundesliga. It's not the same like leverkusen before it was against union. This time leverkusen is performing like when it was in the best performance. This will be affecting the mentality from union's player. Im sure about this. Loosing against leverkusen is not even being predicted before caused by union is always showing consistent performance.

Well earlier today there were already discussions in here because the bookmakers also had Bayer Leverkusen as their favorite against Union Berlin today, which seemed weird at the first glance because Union Berlin was the leader of the Bundesliga table before this match day while Leverkusen was only on position 16. It is also still true though that Bayern Leverkusen has the higher quality in their squad. Of course Leverkusen was not that overwhelmingly better today than Union they just were very efficient with their chances and those 3 goals within 10 minutes totally destroyed the morale of Union Berlin today.
Also Freiburg won again and they are now on second place, amazing.

Leverkusen is the team who still fight for relegation zone but surprisingly they can able to humiliated Union Berlin with big scores and i am sure most of Union Berlin fans didn't expect this result because during this season Union Berlin has displayed strong defense even for each matches they never conceded more than 2 goals in all competitions before and i think this also indicated Union Berlin has failed to showed their consistency because seems they cannot managed their performance for each matches and with this result finally Bayern has taking over first position from Union Berlin and i am sure Bayern will last long on that position because compared to other teams their performance is more stable

The big question is why union has performed very bad against the team that was in the relegation zone? Bochum and leverkusen are always getting lose against another team but the different result achieved by both caused by union can be beaten by them all easily. Leverkusen was doing better since it has a new coach that becomes a replacement for the old coach. Schalke was still doing so bad pretty much the same like bochum.

Union may go even lower if this club keeps facing another lose again in the upcoming matches. This would be a very difficult situation for sure.

I was eagerly waiting for that match to play until I slept off due to my time zone. Checking livescores this morning I saw something I didn't understand. Who would have thought that Union Berlin will lose by 5 goals. Crying out loud 5 goals is too much to give people who were fighting to remain at the table top.

and yes, in the end the struggle of Union Berlin had to be stopped in the 13th match in the Bundesliga. I think since the time against Gladbach, Union Berlin has looked very exhausted and the odds of the bookie give something unnatural. apparently, in the end they slipped in the match vs. Leverkusen which incidentally they were at the bottom of the previous ranking.
Leverkusen has odds of @2.32, Leverkusen is the favorite in this game, whereas previously in the last 6 matches in all competitions, they did not have a single win.
Union Berlin @3.15, they are top of the table. what can be seen from these odds, I'm sure, there are many who lose on this bet.  And yes, the result didn't surprise me, because in this bet I chose the host.

Someone has to look twice to be sure that Leverkusen destroyed Union with 5 goals. Poor Union wasn't able to score a single goal and by the end of the day, Bayern claimed back its first position, Freiburg passed second after their victory and Union is sitting in the third position for the moment.
We always said for how long Union will resist in the first spot but I doubt anyone expected this to happen this humiliating way
Union might become second if they win next round vs Augsburg since Freiburg will face Leipzig and might drop points there. The round later, Union will have to face Freiburg, so best ending for this year for them!
Otherwise, I doubt Bayern will drop points against Bremen and Schalke. So Bayern first seems to be confirmed before World Cup break.

Two defeats from their last three games and both defeats against teams in relegation is surely frustrating for them with this result now they drop from top to third with most chances now they will drop more than now we have two more teams which are improving their performance and can go above them Borussia Dortmund and Frankfurt it's surely humiliated defeat for the team which was leading Bundesliga for long time.

Bayer Leverkusen which was badly down and out of touch now having improvement after arrival of Alonso as coach, and they have seven points from their last five games which bring them out of relegation jail, so now they have to done positive development for better results and going back into middle of the league table because right now having top rank from top four is not easy, but first target is surely having better results and improving performance.

Freiburg is currently leading 1-0 against Cologne, but we still have a long game to go in the 2nd half. That Bayern Munich is at the top should have come as no surprise to anyone. It is already a miracle that Freiburg and Union Berlin are in second and third place at the moment. Union Berlin is once again with both feet on the ground after the hopeless defeat against Bayer Leverkusen, which I did not see coming, namely that 5-0 defeat. Maybe now they are happy that there will be a break soon because of the upcoming world championship.

First half was boring even dominated by Freiburg but in second half we have much improved performance from hosted team, and they have done good job for having full three points and second rank in Bundesliga as Union Berlin badly slip against Leverkusen by 5 - 0 which is surely one of the worst defeat for them in this season specially against team which was in relegation zone but with this win we have good changes in league table Bayern Munich back at the top after very long struggle and Freiburg is also having second rank which is surely good before break because now they have time for having better adjustment which will help them for having positive results in coming weeks and stay at the top ranks.

I do not think that Union Berlin will be crushed by Leverkusen with a landslide score of 5-0. This was Leverkusen's best game of the season, and on the other hand it was the worst match for Unnion Berlin to suffer a humiliating defeat. This is certainly a loss for Union Berlin because with this defeat they have dropped 2 places in the Bundesliga standings and can now only occupy the 3rd position in the standings.

Freiburg is such an amazing team. I like teams who don't have hundreds of millions in the bank or huge outside investors and yet they are able to compete for the international qualifier ranks. I thought they just were very lucky during the early phase of the season, but they are proving every week that there is real quality at play within their team, an outstanding motivation and mentality. Streich is repeating his performances as a coach almost every season and when Freiburg sucks for a couple of months, Streich doesn't get sacked by their management. That is a great attitude compared to all those other rich clubs. This proves that mentality and consistency can also get you quite far.

Do you think it is really theirs?. Bayern are also can not be reliable with their on and off performance in the Bundles League. Berlin has even moved to third as SC Freiburg is in second place. Berlin faced a horrible defeat, Leverkusen made so much fun of them , if it was mere 2 goal or even three it would have been considerate but the went home conceding 5 goals it is a big shame honestly.

maybe I just got lucky in this bet, because I also doubted the match would be won by Wolfsburg.
My previous estimation was not so sure, the possible scenario of the result of the match ending in a draw. however, I tried to choose Wolfsburg. with consideration, they have a pretty interesting record in the last 5 matches. in the end with all considerations, I chose Wolfsburg in this gamble.

for the Frankfurt match, the home team really gave a surprise by creating a quick goal in the 1st minute, but it didn't last long, Frankfurt turned things around and as we discussed earlier.

After all, you won another game. I'm sure you won't have a big loss for Mainz and Gladbach.

took you some time to understand what the fuck just happened? how the hell is it possible that FC Union Berlin lost in such a humiliating way? I bet on them and I was convinced that they would win this game, but when they scored, they conceded the 3 goal I lost all hope, and to make matters worse they scored 4 goals, I was already angry and then I see the 5 goal, I started to think about what the hell I was happen and I confess that I couldn't understand why FC Union Berlin was losing like that and couldn't even score a goal, after the game ended I took a few hours to think, and the only conclusion I come to is that FC Union Berlin was on top for pure luck and that something like that happened should be taken as normal, well now bayern is on top and i doubt anyone believes that FC Union Berlin will have any chance of finishing as champions and maybe not even in the first 4 places they didn't stay

when I look at this image and see the result of yesterday's game in which FC Union Berlin lost, it's clear to me that FC Union Berlin won't be able to finish in 2nd place, they won't be able to finish in 3rd place, they won't be able to finish in 4th position, and even 5th position will be very difficult for them

That match made Union Berlin feel depressed and very embarrassing because they had to lose to a team that was not too strong, but the teamwork from Leverkusen was able to defeat Union Berlin's strength. Could this be Union Berlin's strategy to deliberately lose so that they get an opponent with a sufficient team? weak so that when the next match they get another high scoring win, no one knows which one is for sure.

I agree with you. A 5-0 win against a strong team like Union Berlin proves that Leverkusen is back on track. Among the Bundesliga's renowned teams, Leverkusen's performance this season has been abysmal. And Leverkusen moved out of the relegation zone after a win against Union Berlin. But if it's not an accident. And if Leverkusen is able to maintain the consistency of such performance, the Leverkusen team will rise to the top of the points table very quickly. But their defence is very weak. It will be difficult for Leverkusen to win against renowned teams that cannot stabilize the defence.

I do not think anyone have thought Leverkusen would win. That was a very poor performance from Union Berlin. Both teams were bad in the first half. But nobody expected that Leverkusen score 5 goals and Union Berlin give up. German football is unpredictable. I had such high hopes for Union Berlin, too bad they have dashed it. Now they have given Bayern free the number 1 spot in Bundesliga standing without any struggle. Bayern should not have to win the Bundesliga title this year like this it will be a total shame. All hope is not lost though, keeping my fingers crossed hoping they bounce back for the next match.
